HSPF 모형을 이용한 옥동천 유역의 유달율 분석 (Pollutant Delivery Ratio of Okdong-cheon Watershed Using HSPF Model)

  • The primary objective of this study was to analyze the delivery ratio using Hydrological Simulation Program - Fortran (HSPF) in Okdong-cheon watershed. Model parameters related to hydrology and water quality were calibrated and validated by comparing model predictions with the 8-day interval filed data collected for ten years from the Korea Ministry of Environment. The results indicated that hydrology and water quality parameters appeared to be reasonably comparable to the field data. The pollutant delivery loads of the watershed in 2015 were simulated using the HSPF model. The delivery ratios of each subwatershed were also estimated by the simple ratio calculation of pollutant discharge load and pollutant delivery load. Coefficients of the regression equation between the delivery ratio and specific discharge were also computed using the delivery ratio. Based on the results, multiple regression analysis was performed using the discharge and the physical characteristics of the subwatershed such as the area. The equation of delivery ratio derived in this study is only for the Okdong-cheon watershed, so the larger studies are needed to apply the findings to other watersheds.

한국 근로자의 업무관련성 스트레스와 위험요인 (Work-related Stress and Risk Factors among Korean Employees)

  • Purpose: Work-related stress and risk factors among Korean employees were identified in this study. Methods: Data were obtained from employees aged 20 to 64 using the Korean Working Conditions Survey 2006 (KWCS). Multiple logistic regression analysis using SAS version 9.1 was performed to examine risk factors of work-related stress by gender. Results: The age-adjusted prevalence of work-related stress among male and female employees was 18.4% and 15.1% respectively. After adjustments for multiple variables among both male and female employees, there was a significant relationship between work-related stress and risk factors including education, company size, work time, ergonomic risks, biological chemical risks, and job demands. The significant variables for male employees were housework load, occupational class, and shift work, and for female employees, type of employment. Conclusion: There is a need to develop and support intensive stress management programs nationally giving consideration to work-related stress associated with working time, physical working environment, and job demands. Based on gender specific approaches, for male employes, stress management programs should be developed with consideration being given to occupational class and shift work. For stress management programs for female employees, consideration needs to be given to permanent employment status, specifically those in small companies.

유명 결근에 관한 조사 (A Study on Sickness Absence)

  • The researcher intended to investigate the rate of absenteeism and other related statistics among the workers in a steel and iron industry with the criteria and the recommendation of the International Association on Occupational Health. With the well designed questionaire and interview, 1,882 workers were surveyed from July the 24th to the 28th, 1978. The results were as follows; The workers who experienced absence were 16.8% in July. The rate of frequency (spells) was 3.24, the duration was 4.65, the frequency (persons) was 345.20, and the lost time was 1.27. 41.0% among the absentee experienced sickness absences and the rates of sickness absence were as follow; the frequency (spells) nab 1.34, the duration was 2.29, the frequency (persons) was 101.06 and the lost time was 0.63, respectively. The main causes of sickness absence were general symptoms, such as fatigue (50.8%) and gastro-intestinal symptoms (13.8%). The frequency of sickness was highly correlated to the frequency of drinking, the amount of smoking, the physical work-load and the amount of drinking, which was analysed by the stepwize multiple regrssion analysis. The multiple R due to the above mentioned four variables was 0.320 and the R square was 10.3%.

  • 유비쿼터스 네트웍은 다양한 프로토콜을 사용하는 많은 디바이스로 구성되며 상호간의 유연한 연동을 필요로 한다. 본 논문에서는 유비쿼터스 네트웍 환경에서 디바이스 상호간의 신뢰성 있는 통신을 지원하기 위한 계층적 이벤트 서비스와 이를 위한 다중 이벤트를 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안된 이벤트 서비스는 다양한 통신 방법을 지원하기 위해 물리적인 위치 및 논리적인 위치에 따라 디바이스를 분류하였으며 분산 네트웍 환경에서 나타나는 이벤트 전송의 중복을 제거하여 네트웍 부하를 줄이며 이벤트 전송 과정에서 발생 가능한 오류에 대하여 신뢰성있는 처리를 보장하도록 설계 구현되었다. 제안된 이벤트 서비스는 홈 네트웍 사례 연구를 통하여 직접 구현되었으며 성능을 평가하였다.

The Performance Study of a Virtualized Multicore Web System

  • Enhancing the performance of computing systems has been an important topic since the invention of computers. The leading-edge technologies of multicore and virtualization dramatically influence the development of current IT systems. We study performance attributes of response time (RT), throughput, efficiency, and scalability of a virtualized Web system running on a multicore server. We build virtual machines (VMs) for a Web application, and use distributed stress tests to measure RTs and throughputs under varied combinations of virtual cores (VCs) and VM instances. Their gains, efficiencies and scalabilities are also computed and compared. Our experimental and analytic results indicate: 1) A system can perform and scale much better by adopting multiple single-VC VMs than by single multiple-VC VM. 2) The system capacity gain is proportional to the number of VM instances run, but not proportional to the number of VCs allocated in a VM. 3) A system with more VMs or VCs has higher physical CPU utilization, but lower vCPU utilization. 4) The maximum throughput gain is less than VM or VC gain. 5) Per-core computing efficiency does not correlate to the quality of VCs or VMs employed. The outcomes can provide valuable guidelines for selecting instance types provided by public Cloud providers and load balancing planning for Web systems.

  • 클라우드 컴퓨팅에서 서버 가상화는 한 대의 물리적인 서버를 다수의 가상머신으로 분할하여 다양한 운영체제 및 애플리케이션을 구동하는 기술이다. 가상머신의 마이그레이션은 현재 실행 중인 가상머신을 소스 호스트에서 다른 물리적인 장치인 타깃 호스트로 이동하는 것이다. 가상머신의 라이브 마이그레이션은 작업 수행 성능의 최적화와 저전력 지원 및 에너지 절감, 결함포용, 노드들 간의 부하 균형을 제공하기 위한 필수적인 요소이다. 본 논문에서는 오픈소스 기반의 적응적 VM 라이브 마이그레이션 기법을 제안한다. 이를 위해 적응적 VM 마이그레이션 시점을 결정하는 VM 모니터링 모듈을 제안하고 오픈소스 기반 전가상화를 지원하는 하이퍼바이저를 설계하였다.

Advanced Frame Distribution Method Using Padding for Link Aggregation between 10GbE Switches

  • The link e daggregation between 10GbE switches requires an advanced framistribution method to be properly and efficiently applied. The fixed or dynamic frame distribution methods, formerly proposed, cannot fully utilize the aggregated links, where the receiving terminal only attaches to a pre-specified link among multiple physical links. A frame distribution method using padding is proposed for the link aggregation between 10GbE switches to solve this problem. We compared the performance of the proposed method with those of the static and dynamic frame distribution methods. As a result, the proposed method shows a better performance when the offered load is below 0.7 and the average length of the frames is longer than 954 bytes.

공중 근무자의 요통 발생 요인에 관한 연구 (A Study of Risk Factors Related to Low Back Pain in Civil Airmen)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate risk factors of low back pain in civil airmen and to use this information as basis for the back rehabilitation. Subjects of this study were randomly selected 276 civil airmen who had been employed at four airports in Seoul. These data were analyzed by $X^2$ test, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple logistic regression using SAS. The results were as follows: 1) The prevalence of low back pain among 276 civil airmen was 64.9%. 2) The most common cause of low back pain was load lifting (stewardess), long sitting (aircrew A), and long sitting plus training (aircrew B). 3) There were no statistically significant associations among age, height, body weight, and low back pain. 4) No statistically significant relationships were found among the average monthly working time, total working time, average monthly rest time, working year and low back pain. 5) There was statistically significant relation ship between abnormal posture and low back pain (p<.01). 6) There was statistically significant relation ship between fatigue and low back pain among stewardess and aircrew B. 7) There was a statistically significant relationship between job satisfaction and job-related stress (p<.05). 8) In stewardess, higher satisfaction score was associated with less likelihood of low back pain (odds ratio = .80). The results of this study indicate that civil airmen developed chronicity of low back pain due to unfit seat, poor habitual posture, fatigue symptom, and stress or other risk factors. Therefore, there is a need to improve the working environment for the prevention of posture-related low back pain.

컴퓨터 기반 학습에서 인지부하 요인과 GSR의 각성수준이 과제수행에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of Cognitive Load Factors and Arousal Levels of Galvanic Skin Response on Task Performance in Computer Based Learning)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 과제수행에 대하여 주관적 인지부하 요인과 GSR의 각성수준이 어떤 관계를 형성하고 있는지를 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 인지부하 설문지(신체적 노력, 정신적 노력, 지각된 과제난이도, 자기평가, 자료설계의 용이성), 사전-사후검사, GSR에 의한 각성수준을 측정하였다. 사전검사는 학습자의 사전지식 수준을 의미하며, 사후검사는 과제수행의 결과를 의미한다. 이 연구의 분석방법은 사후검사의 결과를 종속변수로 하는 회귀분석이었다. 첫째, 자기보고의 인지부하 요인이 사후검사에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과에 따르면, 사전검사, 신체적 노력, 지각된 과제난이도가 사후검사에 유의미한 영향을 미치고 있었다. 신체적 노력은 정적관련성을 보이고 있었으나 지각된 과제난이도는 부적관련성을 보이고 있었다. 이 결과는 사전검사의 점수가 높은 사람은 상대적으로 과제난이도를 낮게 지각하는 경향이 있으며 과제해결을 위하여 신중히 노력함으로써 사후검사의 결과가 올라간다는 것을 보여주는 것이다. 둘째, 각성수준에 대한 연구결과에서는 평가단계에서 측정된 각성수준이 사후검사의 점수를 유의미하게 예측하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 평가단계의 GSR은 과제수행(사후검사)과 부적 관계를 형성하고 있었다. 즉, 평가단계에서 적절한 이완수준을 유지하고 있을 때 사후검사의 결과가 증진된다는 것을 보여주는 것이다.

직장인의 직무만족도 관련요인 분석 - NIOSH의 직무스트레스 모형을 적용하여 - (Factors Related with Job Satisfaction in Workers - Through the Application of NIOSH Job Stress Model -)

  • This study was conducted to determine the factors affecting job satisfaction in workers by using the Job Stress Model proposed by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). Data were collected from December 1 to December 30, 1999. The subjects were 2,133 workers employed at 155 work sites, who were examined using NIOSH Job Stress questionnaire translated by the Korea Occupational Safety ${\pounds}|$ Health Academy and Occupational Safety ${\pounds}|$ Health Research Institute. SAS/PC program was used for statistical analysis using descriptive analysis. Pearson's correlation coefficient, ANOVA, and Stepwise multiple regression analysis. The results of this study were as follows. 1. According to general characteristics of the subjects, job satisfaction was high in those with less number of children. 2. By work condition, job satisfaction was higher in those who were working in a permanent job position, were working with regular time basis than with shift basis, were working in regular shift hours than in changing shift hours, were working for a short period, and were working less hours and overtime works per week. 3. In terms of physical work environment, job satisfaction was significantly related to 10 physical environmental factors. In other words, job satisfaction was high in workers who were working in an environment with no noise, bright light, temperature adjusted to an appropriate level during summer and winter, humidity adjusted to an appropriate level. well ventilation, clean air, no exposure to hazardous substance during work hour, overall pleasant work environment and not crowded work space. 4. By work-related factors, job satisfaction was high in those with less ambiguity about future job and role, high job control/autonomy, and less workload. On the other hand, job satisfaction was low in those with little utilization of competencies, and much role conflict at work and workload. 5. As for the relationships between job satisfaction and the non-work related factors, job satisfaction was high in workers who were volunteering at different organizations or active in religious activities for 5-10 hours per week. 6. In the relationships between job satisfaction and buffering factors, significantly positive correlations were found between job satisfaction and factors such as support by direct superior, support by peers, and support by spouse, friend and family. 7. There were nine factors that affected job satisfaction in the workers: age, number of children, work hours per week, noise, temperature at the work site during summer, uncomfortable physical environment, role ambiguity, role conflict, ambiguity in job future, work load, no utilization of competencies and social support from direct supervisor. These nine factors accounted for 26% of the total variance in the multiple regression analysis. In conclusion. the following are proposed based on the results of this study. 1. The most important physical environmental factors affecting job satisfaction in workers were noise, role ambiguity, and work load, suggesting a need to develop strategies or programs to manage these factors at work sites. 2. A support system that could promote job satisfaction is needed by emphasizing the roles of occupational health nurses who may be stationed at work sites and manage the factors that could generate job stress. 3. Job satisfaction is one of the three acute responses to stress proposed in NIOSH job stress model (job satisfaction. physical discomfort and industrial accidents). Therefore, further studies need to be conducted on the other two issues.
