The purpose of this study is to suggest a strategy of introduction of Larchiveum, which is a concept of multi cultural space in libraries. Problem of library space programs are discussed in terms of Larchiveum and Maker space, and recently it has been studied in various aspects such as Europeana, GLAM and DPLA from the view point of digital Larchiveum. As a multi cultural space, it is a strategy for constructing Larchiveum that reflects the recent maker's movement. Maker space that explores new ideas and encourages active participation of users, nature and health, curiosity and the construction of an attractive space using ecological concepts as key words. The processes and methods for constructing Larchiveum are classified into 3 types of space configuration, service, program, and operating regulation, and twelve details are laid out to derive the process and method of building Larchiveum as a future type library.

The purpose of this study was to suggest the spatial structure among residential behaviors in relation to work space. To find the structure, Multi-Dimensional Scaling analysis was used. Respondents were 349 middle income housewives living in apartments in the area of Caopital region. Data were collected through the questinnaire survey. For the future residential interior design, following points were sugtested. A laundary space neess to be developed independently , being separated from both bathroom and kitchen/dining space. A new area which will give housewives some territoriality and also function as home office needs to be considered. A space configuration which satisfies the organic relationships among laundary behaviors such as washing dying, ironing and folding , needs to be systematically planned, with two adjoining separate zones of wet and dry utility . The present bathroom nees to be more incorporated to the private bedroom rather than to workspace.

This research analyzes the residents' satisfaction for the pedestrian space of multi-family housing based on quality index. For this purpose, nine apartment complexes which were built after 2000, are selected and examined by user characteristics of composition factors of pedestrian space. This research also compares residents' satisfaction by evaluation factors of walking environment. The resident survey reveals that the composit type of apartment gives the highest satisfaction to residents followed by a courtyard type, and a straight type the last. In particular, residents show high satisfaction to pedestrian-only space in the case of the composit type of apartment building. The most important factor of walking environment on residential satisfaction is the separation of car and pedestrian path of main entrance. Above all, suitability of construction laws and regulations should be reviewed for safer and more amenable walking environment.

The purpose of the study was to analyze the appropriateness of space in multi-family housing by examining the current conditions of space, space norms and deficits, satisfaction with and needs for the spaces of individual rooms. The data came from the survey with 412 households living in Haeundae New Town, Busan and were analyzed with descriptive statistics. The appropriateness of space were mainly investigated in terms of housing size, number of bedrooms, and number of bathrooms. In terms of current space conditions, the highest portion of the households live in apartments with $20\sim30s$ pyong, 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. It was found that the space norms included housing with $30\sim40s$ pyong, 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. Households in current study tended to have some space deficits, especially in housing size and number or bathrooms. In general, the satisfaction with the current space of individual rooms were generally low except living room and master bedroom. It was also found that the households were more likely to make the second biggest bedroom bigger than now. The stages of family life cycle has significant effects on needs for the spaces of several rooms, such as dining room, room2, and room3.

This study examines the space composition and character of Elizabethan Theater base on the theory of drama and Shakespeares play in the english traditional theater. Contemporary multi purpose theater and public space is considered as a symbolic representation of the Elizabethan theaters organization and renaissance culture. In the historical theory, the Shakespeares theater was a common tool and best systeme in reflecting peoples lives. This role of theater as mass culture and new style of theater permanent design has get its value with the population increase and the urban centralization of the city and urban common sense. This study attempts to reevaluate the need of public space in modern society through a critical review of theater and its use as a open space design. Content analysis was used to discuss the topics of this study including the historical background of the theater, the relationship between Greek culture and modern design, and the role of scenery, auditorium and its impact on urban environment. The scope of the study is limited to the comparison of Elizabethan theater and space use program from the space critic and sociologist. Today the concept of theatrical space is altered with the advent of non-objects and multi media space. This study provides insights for the future implications of theatrical space in developing public space for its a new definition as cultural representation.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the outdoor environmental quality level at the improvement areas of residence and examine the changes of these areas where the improvement process has been performed. The indicators of outdoor space were examined for case study and several improvement areas were selected and analyzed in terms of these indicators. The improvement areas may be divided into two branch, one is a housing improvement area and the other is a multi-family housing area. The results of this study were as follows; 1) Land-use intensity in both cases was much higher than before. 2) Open space ratio in the housing improvement areas was not enough but in the multi-family housing areas was enough. 3) The road ratio in both cases was much higher. 4) Parking space was not enough to accomodate all the cars in projects. 5) Public facilities and green space did not exist in housing improvement areas but existed a little in multi-family housing areas. In order to improve the environmental quality level, the proper residential density such as dwelling density, open space ratio, land-use intensity should be planned in advance.

In order to evaluate KOrea Multi-Purpose SATellite (KOMPSAT) application products and develop the multi-sensor data application technologies, the Product Validation Site (PVS) will be designed and constructed by Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI). Also KARl has a plan for acquisition of multi-sensor data such as ENVISAT ASAR and Project for On Board Autonomy (PROBA) Compact High Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (CHRIS) data through international cooperation with European Space Agency (ESA). These data will be utilized with KOMPSAT-2 Multi-Spectral Camera (MSC) data. KARI and ESA have identified a mutual interest in creating synergy in the joint exploitation of Earth Observation data for science and applications both in Korea and Europe. This paper summarizes the status of joint experimental studies between KARI and ESA for further applications and presents some expected results from related activities.

This study investigates the effects of the spatial elements of the mulit-purpose commercial complex on visitors' circulation pattern and wayfinding by employing method of space syntax, observation, and interview survey. Two commercial complexes were investigated; Techno-mart represented a vertical type and COEX mall rendered a horizontal one. Analysis of the spatial elements using space-syntax method provided a base line for comparing analyses by the two other methods. Analysis of the interview additionally survey identified the factors affecting wayfinding behavior and contributing satisfaction. The findings suggest that level of the effects of the spatial configuration on visitors' circulation pattern is greater in Techno-mart(vertically oriented) than COEX(horizontally). In COEX, for instance, specific route that connects sub-way station and cinema complex carries far more traffic than main route, even though the main route indicates higher degree of integration of spatial configuration. Similar with observation, the degree of integration is corresponding with the satisfaction and easiness of wayfinding behavior In COEX, specific place and feature seem to have more effects on visitors' wayfinding behavior and circulation pattern than the level of integration of spatial configuration.

The main purpose of this research is to consider educational environment, concept, and spatial organization and its characteristic based on the early 20th century European child-centered educational philosophy. For this process, the study of the following have been done : 1) Literature review, which includes educational ideology, perspective of child development of Maria Montessori, Rudolf Steiner, Peter Peterson, and Celestin Freinet. 2) Comparisons of spatial organization and classrooms of schools operated with the educational philosophy of mentioned philosophers from above. These schools have classrooms(or multi-purpose space near classroom) contained self-directed individual learning space, group and collaborative learning space, and training space of practical life. These configuration of learning space intended 1) learning based on individual child's interest, experience 2) developing of responsibility based on freedom 3) sociality and community spirit of children.
