The purpose of this paper is to review global stochastic optimization algorithms(GSOA) in case binary response experimentation is used and to compare the performances of them. GSOAs utilise estimator of probability of success $\^p$ instead of population probability of success p, since p is unknown and only known by its estimator which has stochastic characteristics. Hill climbing algorithm algorithm, simple random search, random search with random restart, random optimization, simulated annealing and particle swarm algorithm as a population based algorithm are considered as global stochastic optimization algorithms. For the purpose of comparing the algorithms, two types of test functions(one is simple uni-modal the other is complex multi-modal) are proposed and Monte Carlo simulation study is done to measure the performances of the algorithms. All algorithms show similar performances for simple test function. Less greedy algorithms such as Random optimization with Random Restart and Simulated Annealing, Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO) based on population show much better performances for complex multi-modal function.
This study was conducted to qualitatively analyze the selected research through a systematic review to find out application method, outcome measures, and intervention effects of dual task. We searched for published studies from January 2010 to December 2019. Electrical database were PubMed and ProQuest. Search terms were 'dual task' OR 'multi modal' AND 'mild cognitive impairment' OR 'dementia' OR 'Alzheimer's disease'AND 'intervention' OR 'rehabilitation. There were 8 studies selected finally. The dual task was applied not as a single intervention but as a combined intervention with other exercises. The contents of dual task were consisted of motor and cognitive tasks to be independent each other. The outcome measures included general cognitive function such as MMSE and CERAD, executive function, and memory. Additionally the dual task cost was also used to identify the direct improvement of the dual task. This study could provide informations of dual task application on elderly with cognitive impairment.

Recently, customers have been concerned about vehicle NVH depending on vehicle designing and manufacturing technologies development. In choosing vehicle, vehicle NVH is becoming the most important factor to customers. Especially, a seat is the final stage of vibration transfer path to passengers from all sources of vibration like engine, transmission and etc. And seat is the nearest component from driver's ear. For this reason, seat is the most important component that directly related to ride comfort for passengers. And driver can be influenced sensitively by BSR caused by seat. Thus, evaluating the vibration characteristics of vehicle seat and BSR caused by vehicle seat is necessary to reduce the seat BSR. The rattle noise occurred from seat has evaluated through sound source visualization and multi-dimensional spectral analysis - coherence function technique in this paper. Vibration characteristics of the seat has verified through modal test.

The curved structures in space, such as multi-level inter-changes, ramped structures, and circular curved structures etc., are modelled as helically curved members with constant helix angle in this study. Equilibrium equations are derived, considering the geometrical properties and initial curvatures of helix. Modal equations of the simply supported helically curved members which can calculate the normalized natural frequencies are derived from these equations by assuming the modal shape function. These equations are used to calculate the normalized natural frequencies of the simply supported helically curved members and verify the distribution of the natural frequencies of them.

In this paper, we derive analytical expressions for the exact pairwise error probability (PEP) of a space-time coded system operating over spatially correlated fast (constant over the duration of a symbol) and slow (constant over the length of a code word) fading channels using a moment-generating function-based approach. We discuss two analytical techniques that can be used to evaluate the exact-PEPs (and therefore, approximate the average bit error probability (BEP)) in closed form. These analytical expressions are more realistic than previously published PEP expressions as they fully account for antenna spacing, antenna geometries (uniform linear array, uniform grid array, uniform circular array, etc.) and scattering models (uniform, Gaussian, Laplacian, Von-mises, etc.). Inclusion of spatial information in these expressions provides valuable insights into the physical factors determining the performance of a space-time code. Using these new PEP expressions, we investigate the effect of antenna spacing, antenna geometries and azimuth power distribution parameters (angle of arrival/departure and angular spread) on the performance of a four-state QPSK space-time trellis code proposed by Tarokh et al. for two transmit antennas.

In this study, the describing function is adopted to represent nonlinearity in the system equations. The compliance can be obtained by solving nonlinear simultaneous algebraic quations for multi-degrees-of-freedom system with multinonlinearities. When the technique is applied, the nonlinearity of the system can be identified from the compliance which is obtained from the sinusoidal excitation of the system. By employing the describing function in the Building Block Analysis, we can extensively develop the BBA into investigation of the continuous systems with nonlinearities. The evaluated compliance can quantitatively show the effects of nonlinearity such as the transfer of the natural frequency, the variance of the compliance at the natural frequency, and the jump phenomena which occur during sweeping of the excitation frequency.

This paper presents the simulation methodology of the interior noise of vehicle using the frequency response function based hybrid modeling of the system which consists of multi-subsystem models obtained by the test or analysis. The complex systems such as a trimmed body of high modal density and a powertrain were modeled by using experimental data, and a sub-frame of a vehicle of low modal density was modeled by finite element data. Modeling of the whole system was executed and validated in the two stages. The first stave is combining the trimmed body and the sub-frame, and the second stage is attaching the powertrain, which is a exciting source, to the combined model of the first stage. The input force to the system was modeled as an equivalent force in the virtual space, which was obtained from impedance method using the FRFs of the powertrain and the responses. The interior noise predicted by the proposed method was very close to the direct measurement, which showed feasibility of the proposed modeling procedure. Since the methodology is easily applied to both the transfer path analysis of structure-borne noise and the analysis of noise contribution of a sub-system, it is expected to be a strong tool for design change of a vehicle in the earlier stare.
This paper provides a new topology optimization technique which is intended to maximize the fundamental frequency with simultaneous consideration of other natural frequencies in the form of multi-frequency problems. The modal strain energy is considered as the objective function to be minimized and the initial volume of structures is used as the constraint function. The resizing algorithm based on the optimality criteria is adopted to update the hole size existing inside the material. From numerical tests, the proposed technique is found to be very effective to maximize the fundamental frequency of the structure and it can also successfully consider several higher mode effects into the optimum topology of structure through the introduction of weights.

DNA computing has been applied to the problem of getting an optimal soluting since Adleman's experiment. DNA computing uses strings with various length and four-type bases that makes more useful for finding a global optimal solutions of the complex multi-modal problems This paper presents DNA coding method finding optimal solution of the multi-modal function and compares the efficiency of this method with the genetic algorithms(GA). GA searches efffectively an optimal solution via the artificial evolution of individual group of binary string and DNA coding method uses DNA molecules and four-type bases denoted by the A(Ademine) C(Gytosine);G(Guanine)and T(Thymine). The selection, crossover, mutation operators are applied to both DNA coding algorithm and genetic algorithms and the comparison has been performed. The results show that the DNA based algorithm performs better than GA.
Deciding on an optimal sensor placement (OSP) is a common problem encountered in many engineering applications and is also a critical issue in the construction and implementation of an effective structural health monitoring (SHM) system. The present study focuses with techniques for selecting optimal sensor locations in a sensor network designed to monitor the health condition of Dalian World Trade Building which is the tallest in the northeast of China. Since the number of degree-of-freedom (DOF) of the building structure is too large, multi-modes should be selected to describe the dynamic behavior of a structural system with sufficient accuracy to allow its health state to be determined effectively. However, it's difficult to accurately distinguish the translational and rotational modes for the flexible structures with closely spaced modes by the modal participation mass ratios. In this paper, a new method of the OSP that computing the mode shape matrix in the weak axis of structure by the simplified multi-DOF system was presented based on the equivalent rigidity parameter identification method. The initial sensor assignment was obtained by the QR-factorization of the structural mode shape matrix. Taking the maximum off-diagonal element of the modal assurance criterion (MAC) matrix as a target function, one more sensor was added each time until the maximum off-diagonal element of the MAC reaches the threshold. Considering the economic factors, the final plan of sensor placement was determined. The numerical example demonstrated the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
