  • In this paper, a deep-heating stimulation system and protocol were designed to substitute the heat effect of moxibustion. Moxibustion is used to increase immunity and cure disease. But, it is difficult to control power of heat stimulation. A designed deep-heating stimulation system using Radio-Frequency(RF) is easy to control power of heat stimulation. Also, the stimulation protocol for substitution of the heat effect of moxibustion is proposed. Core temperature was applied to infrared camera, thermometer, and infrared sensor, and then was compared with that of moxibustion. The proposed system showed that it is more effective than moxibustion in transferring heat effect in such a deep part. Also, it shows the possibility of usefulness of deep-heating stimulation system and heat stimulation protocol.

  • Objectives: The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of Heat-sensitive Moxibustion on Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia Methods: We searched articles from Academic Journals(CAJ) online databases, Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System (OASIS), Searching key words were '前列腺增生', '熱敏灸' and '열민구', '전립선비대'. The search range included randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Among the articles published to 2020, 10 articles were found. After review the title, abstract and original, 3 articles were selected finally to rule out treatment combined with completely different treatments. Result: The Heat-sensitive moxibustion at acupoints in the treatment of Benign prostatic hyperplasia were significantly superior to control group after treatment in the symptoms of patients, IPSS, QOL, PVR and Qmax(P<0.05). The Heat-sensitive moxibustion can significantly reduce the incidence of temporary urinary incontinence after Transurethral resection of the prostate(TURP) and improve life quality and satisfaction of patients(P<0.05). The individualized desensitization saturated time and amount of Heat-sensitive moxibustion is superior effective to general amount and time of traditional moxibustion in the total effective rate, IPSS, Ru and Qmax(P<0.01) for Benign prostatic hyperplasia. Conclusion: Heat sensitive moxibustion directly transfer heat to the source of a disease. So it can be considered as a good treatment for Benign prostate hypertrophy. It was also shown a better effect on BPH compared to traditional moxibustion, According to the thermo principles of tumor, if the tumor cell's death temperature of 43℃ is reached, that can cause tumor degeneration. Therefore I think Heat sensitive moxibustion can be applied to various tumor disease. The results of this study could be applied to clinical treatment of BPH. However, additional large-scale clinical researches should be conducted.

  • Objectives : The aim of this study was to find optimal conditions for producing red ginseng from cultivated wild ginseng using the Turbo Mill. Methods : Characteristics of powdered cultivated wild ginseng based on various temperature settings of the Turbo Mill were observed, and changes in the content was measured by HPLC for various ginsenosides. Results : 1. The diameter of cultivated wild ginseng powder ground by the Turbo Mill was around 10${\mu}m$. 2. As the temperature rose, pressure, Specific Mechanical Energy(SME), and density decreased, whileas Water Solubility Index(WSI) increased. 3. As the temperature rose, super fine powder showed tendency to turn into dark brown. 4. Measuring content changes by HPLC, there was no detection of ginsenoside Rg3 and ginsenosideRg1, Rb1, and Rh2 concentrations decreased with increase in temperature. Conclusions : Super fine powder of cultivated wild ginseng produced by the Turbo Mill promotes easy absorption of effective ingredients by breaking the cell walls. Using this mechanism to produce red ginseng from cultivated wild ginseng, it yielded less than satisfactory results under the current experiment setup. Further researches are needed to verify more suitable condition for the production of red ginseng.

  • In this paper, the unsteady incompressible Navier-Stokes equation coupled with energy equation was solved in order to investigate the thermal stimulation of continuous moxibustion using a commercial code (ANSYS-Fluent). In the simulations, various periods were selected for the continuous moxibustion, which was done by burning multiple disks successively. It has been found that the depth of the effective stimulation zone increases only when the replacing temperature is equal or larger than body temperature whereas the increase rate of the effective stimulation depth decreases as the number of disc increases. Further, it has been shown that the optimal period, for which the duration time of the effective stimulation zone is maximum, exists.

  • Background and Purpose : Recently oriental medicine is making a new try for arthritis therapy, one of them is herbal acupuncture. Herbal acupuncture is therapy which combines acupuncture with herbal medicine. Also, aquatherapy will be the good method for arthritis therapy. Aquatherapy begins with YMCA aquatic exercise program in 1984 by America athritis foundation. Aquatherapy uses buoyancy, hydmstatic pressure, resistance, water temperature which is four water characters. So we should study on the herbal acpuncture and aquatherapy. Objecitve and Method : This study researched 21 thesises for herbal acupuncture and many artcles and data for aquatherapy. 21 thesises for herbal acpuncture is divided two groups. One group is about effect on alleviation of pain(18 thesises), the other group is for antiphlogistic effect(13 thesises). About aquatherapy, we research many books, papers, and aquatherpy method, for example Ai Chi, BACKHAB, Watsu. Result and Conclusions : About herbal acupuncture, we researched 21 thesises, and 17 thesises proved the effect on alleviation of pain, 13 thesises proved the antiphlogistic effect of herbal acupuncture. For the aquatherapy, we researched many datas, and concluded like this. Due to the lessned effect of gravity, patients in exercising in water will have very little body weight and very little impact. So, aquatherapy or aquaexercise is an excellent exercise medium for the people who are experiencing some physical difficulty.
