  • In this paper, a nonlinear controller based on adaptive sliding-mode method which has a sliding surface vector including new boundary function is proposed and applied to a two-wheeled voiding mobile robot (WMR). This controller makes the welding point of WMR achieve tracking a reference point which is moving on a smooth curved welding path with a desired constant velocity. The mobile robot is considered in view of a kinematic model and a dynamic model in Cartesian coordinates. The proposed controller can overcome uncertainties and external disturbances by adaptive sliding-mode technique. To design the controller, the tracking error vector is defined, and then the new sliding is proposed to guarantee that the error vector converges to zero asymptotically. The stability of the dynamic system will be shown through the Lyapunov method. The simulations is shown to prove the effectiveness of the proposed controller.

  • Recently, location based service(LBS) expended based on personal specialized service, however since commercialized GPS based emergency rescue service comes with shadow zone for GPS signal such as inside building, the accuracy and reliability are not guaranteed. Therefore to improve such problem, we propose an active location detecting algorithm using RFID-TAG and Yagiantenna. To track the location of RFID-TAG where signal is generated, location tracking device in which Yagi-Antenna is installed moves around. Since directed wave and reflected wave co-exist during signal reception, final signal generated location is searched by setting up multiple of locations where signal can be generated on the map and moving location tracking device along minimum length of path. The algorithm proposed in this paper was verified of its technical validity through simulator.

  • A moving-magnet type pickup actuator is proposed, which has the back-yoke to improve th sensitivity. Through the magnetic path analysis, we can find that the flux density is increased i the air gap by the pole assignment of magnet and the adding of back-yoke can reduce the flu leakage and induce 40% up of flux density. Experimental results show that the sensitivity i improved in the tracking direction, however, the improvement doesn't occur in the focusing direction. Finally, the compensation performance is tested in HD-DVD system. And it is verifie that the actuator can compensate the disc tilt of ${\pm}$0.7$^{\circ}$.

  • In this paper, we introduce a new sliding surface adaptable to arbitrary initial conditions. The surface is initially designed to pass given intial errors and subsequently moves towards a predetermined surface via rotating or/and shifting. We call it as a moving sliding surface (MSS) comparing with the conventional ones, for instances, employed by Slotine and Sastry. Using the MSS, it is shown that the tracking is much faster than conventional one without increasing the magnitude of discontinuous control gain. To demonstrate some advantages of the proposed method, we apply the MSS to the path tracking control of a two-degree-of-freedom robotic manipulator subjected to external disturbances.

이동부하를 가지고 병진운동하는 유연보의 운동 해석 (Motion analysis of a Translating Flexible Beam Carrying a Moving Mass)

  • In this paper, the vibrational motion of a flexible beam clamped on a translating base and carrying a moving mass is investigated. The equations of motion which describe the total dynamics of the beam-mass-cart system are derived and the coupled dynamic equations are solved by unconstrained modal analysis. In modal analysis, the exact normal mode solutions corresponding to the eigenfrequencies for the position of the moving mass and the ratios of the mass of the flexible beam, the moving mass and the base cart are used. Proper transformations of the time solutions between the normal modes for a position and those for the next position of the moving mass are also adopted. Numerical simulations are carried out to obtain the open-loop responses of the system in tracking the pre-designed path of the moving mass.

A Modified Expansion-Contraction Method for Mobile Object Tracking in Video Surveillance: Indoor Environment

  • Recent years have witnessed a growing interest in the fields of video surveillance and mobile object tracking. This paper proposes a mobile object tracking algorithm. First, several parameters such as object window, object area, and expansion-contraction (E-C) parameter are defined. Then, a modified E-C algorithm for multiple-object tracking is presented. The proposed algorithm tracks moving objects by expansion and contraction of the object window. In addition, it includes methods for updating the background image and avoiding occlusion of the target image. The validity of the proposed algorithm is verified experimentally. For example, the first scenario traces the path of two people walking in opposite directions in a hallway, whereas the second one is conducted to track three people in a group of four walkers.

콤팩트 HF 레이더를 이용한 선박 검출 및 추적 연구를 위한 Range-Doppler Map 생성 시뮬레이터 (Range-Doppler Map generating simulator for ship detection and tracking research using compact HF radar)

  • 낮은 비용으로 넓은 관측 범위를 갖는다는 장점으로 최근 해양 감시 시스템 개발을 위해 HF 레이더를 이용한 선박 검출 및 추적 연구가 수행되고 있다. HF 레이더를 이용한 해양 감시를 위해 수많은 선박 관측과 추적 알고리즘이 개발되었지만, 각 연구에 사용된 데이터는 선박의 이동 경로와 크기 등 대상 선박에 대한 조건이 다르기 때문에 동등한 조건에서 그 성능을 비교할 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 선박 크기와 이동 경로에 따른 데이터를 생성할 수 있는 콤팩트 HF 레이더 기반 데이터 생성 시뮬레이터를 제안한다. 이를 통해 생성된 데이터를 이용하면 동일한 선박 조건에서 성능 비교가 가능할 것이다. 실험에서는 제안하는 시뮬레이터에서 생성된 데이터와 SeaSonde HF 레이더 사이트에서 실제 관측된 데이터를 비교하였다. 비교 결과, 제안하는 시뮬레이터를 사용하여 생성된 데이터와 실제 환경에서 획득된 데이터가 유사함을 확인할 수 있었다. 그러므로 선박의 크기 및 이동 경로에 따라 생성된 시뮬레이션 데이터를 사용함으로써, 알고리즘의 검출 및 추적 성능을 각각 비교, 분석 할 수 있을 것이다.

Smart Control System Using Fuzzy and Neural Network Prediction System

  • In this paper, a prediction system is proposed to control the brightness of smart street lamps by predicting the moving path through the reduction of consumption power and information of pedestrian's past moving direction while meeting the function of existing smart street lamps. The brightness of smart street lamps is adjusted by utilizing the walk tracking vector and soft hand-off characteristics obtained through the motion sensing sensor of smart street lamps. In addition, the motion vector is used to analyze and predict the pedestrian path, and the GPU is used for high-speed computation. Pedestrians were detected using adaptive Gaussian mixing, weighted difference imaging, and motion vectors, and motions of pedestrians were analyzed using the extracted motion vectors. The preprocessing process using linear interpolation is performed to improve the performance of the proposed prediction system. Fuzzy prediction system and neural network prediction system are designed in parallel to improve efficiency and rough set is used for error correction.

Object Tracking Algorithm for a Mobile Robot Using Ultrasonic Sensors

  • This paper proposes the algorithm which a mobile robot tracks the object captured by ultrasonic sensors of the robot and automatically generates a path according to the object In the proposed algorithm, a robot detects movements of the object as using ultrasonic sensors and then the robot follows the moving object. This algorithm simplifies robot path planning. The eight ultrasonic sensors on the robot capture distances between the robot and objects. The robot detects the movements of the object by using the changes of the distances captured by ultrasonic sensors. The target position of the robot is determined as the position of the detected moving object. The robot follows the object according to this movement strategy. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified through experiments.

교통 영상에서의 Backward Moving 충격파 속도 측정 (Backward Moving Shockwave Speed Measurement in Traffic Images)

  • 본 논문에서는 신호 교차로에서 red-time 및 green-time의 backward moving 충격파 속도를 자동 측정하는 영상처리 기반 방법을 제안한다. 충격파(shockwave)란 서로 다른 교통류 상태가 만나는 불연속적인 경계선을 의미하며, 충격파 속도는 충격파가 움직이는 속도 즉, 경계선의 기울기로 구해진다. 본 논문에서는 충격파 속도를 자동 측정하기 위해 거리-시간 다이어그램(distance-time diagram)을 작성하였다. 차량의 전역 추적을 통해서 모든 개별 차량의 이동 경로를 거리-시간 다이어그램에 나타내었고, 이동 경로 곡선의 기울기 변화 패턴을 분석하여 red-time 및 green-time의 backward moving 충격파 속도를 계산하였다. 제안된 방법을 신호 교차로에서 실험하였고 red-time 및 green-time backward moving 충격파 속도의 측정 결과를 얻었다. 충격파 속도를 측정하게 되면 차량 진행 방향의 교통 혼잡 상황을 쉽게 파악할 수 있으므로 고속 도로의 진입차선 제어, 교차로의 자동 신호제어에 효과적으로 응용할 수 있다.
