In this paper, a hardware-in-the-loop simulation platform for MMCs is established, which connects a real time digital simulator (RTDS) and a designed MMC controller with optical fiber. In this platform, the converter valves are simulated with a small time step of 2.5 microsecond in the RTDS, and multicore technology is implemented for the controller so that the parallel valve control is distributed between different cores. Therefore, the designed controller can satisfy the requirements of real-time control. The functions of the designed platform and the rationality for the designed controller are verified through experimental tests. The results show that different modulation modes and various control strategies can be implemented in the simulation platform and that each control objective can been tracked accurately and with a fast dynamic response.

Currently, it is essential for us to provide technology development and countermeasure way against subversive influence that development and commercial release of Google's modular smartphone can cause in such ecology. This paper focused to suggest binding assignment and technology prospect required in promoting industrialization related with IoT and deducing the global countermeasure ways through investigation and analysis about advanced technology and patents of modular smart phone and devices. Description includes introduction, technology outline, technology and patent trend, conclusion.

The suggested modular projection system can have flexible arrangements of screens. Modular and continuous arrangements of the display system enable us to modify the screen configuration easily, so that the system can be used in various applications. The image of each screen is calculated automatically by using window projection and the tracked position of the viewer. This system also uses the off-axis stereoscopic projection for the seamless stereoscopic edge blending of multiple connections of screens. The system has been successfully tested for the general navigation model and the CAU driving simulator with motion platform.
Purpose This study aims to introduce a Smart-Platform for solving numerous problems in urban cities and improving citizens' convenience. This Smart-Platform is achieved by studying the City Data Hub technology to build and spread a Smart City Data Hub . Design/methodology/approach In this study, we analyzed the functions in detail and interlocking flows specific to the published City Data Hub module and designed a Smart-Platform with additional UI-based functions to improve users' convenience based on our previous experience. Findings The City Data Hub will provide a modular data hub platform functionality for application by different stakeholders. However, further research on detailed functionality and experience in interworking legacy systems will be required to apply the platform realistically. Therefore, we judged that this Smart-Platform, which supplements the City Data Hub with additional functions, would be useful for utilizing the City Data Hub in the future. Through the demonstration of the platform designed, it is also necessary to explore the direction of continuous development for the future.

This study presents the Supporting platform for reactor fine flow characteristics calculation and analysis (Cilian platform), a user-friendly tool that supports the analysis and optimization of pressurized water reactor (PWR) cores with mixing vanes using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) computing. The Cilian platform allows for easy creation and optimization of PWR's main CFD calculation schemes and autonomously manages CFD calculation and analysis of PWR cores, reducing the need for human and computational resources. The platform's key features enable efficient simulation, rapid solution design, automatic calculation of core scheme options, and streamlined data extraction and processing techniques. The Cilian platform's capability to call external CFD software reduces the development time and cost while improving the accuracy and reliability of the results. In conclusion, the Cilian platform exemplifies an innovative solution for efficient computational fluid dynamics analysis of pressurized water reactor (PWR) cores. It holds great promise for driving advancements in nuclear power technology, enhancing the safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of nuclear reactors. The platform adopts a modular design methodology, enabling the swift and accurate computation and analysis of diverse flow regions within core components. This design approach facilitates the seamless integration of multiple computational modules across various reactor types, providing a high degree of flexibility and reusability.
This study proposes development of 3U CubeSat standard platform whose function and performance are verified via KAUSAT-5 development. 3U CubeSat platform specification was selected for the design of 3U Cubesat standard platform by examining existing CubeSat and state-of-art technology, and consequently a universally usable 3U CubeSat platform was designed. Standard platform was manufactured in 1.5U size and developed with a modular concept to be able to add and expand payloads and ADCS actuators for meeting the user's needs. In addition, in case of the power system, the solar panel, the battery, and the deployment mechanism are designed to be configured by the user. In the mechanical system design of a standard platform, subsystem and micro equipment functions/performance could be integrated and miniaturized on micro-sized PCBs and maximized electrical capability to accommodate multiple payloads. In the development of the 3U CubeSat, the satellite platform adopts the developed standard platform, which can reduce the cost and schedule for the whole satellite development by reducing the additional function verification.

Modular reconfigurable robots with physical docking capability easily adapt to a new environment and many studies are necessary for the modular robots. In this paper, we propose a vision-based fuzzy autonomous docking controller for the modular docking robots. A modular docking robot platform which performs real-time image processing is designed and color-based object recognition method is implemented on the embedded system. The docking robot can navigate to a subgoal near a target robot while avoiding obstacles. Both a fuzzy obstacle avoidance controller and a fuzzy navigation controller for subgoal tracking are designed. We propose an autonomous docking controller using the fuzzy obstacle avoidance and navigation controllers, absolute distance information and direction informations of robots from PSD sensors and a compass sensor. We verify the proposed docking control method by docking experiments of the developed modular robots in the various environments with different distances and directions between robots.

Electric vehicles are widely produced from many car manufacturers around the world instead of internal combustion engine vehicle in order to respond a variety of environmental regulations. Also, they are applying for modular design method to develop plenty of the vehicles. And, both of these two issues will be an important trend to lead the future global automobile industries for a long time. In this paper, new brake architecture concept is proposed in order to respond to such a situation. First, physical interfaces between brake system like caliper, disc and other counter-parts are established for modular assembly. Second, we analyze effective factors of brake system for electric vehicles which need to reflect vehicle specifications such as total vehicle weight. Here, we consider ideal brake force by critical deceleration. Third, we simulate accumulated regenerative brake energy for two main driving modes to confirm to effectiveness for a variety of Electric Vehicle. Finally, we hope that it contributes to implement brake architecture for the development of Electric Vehicle platform through such a study.

In this paper, we present a reconfigurable mobile platform (RMP) for user-specific applications. The RMP consists of a basic module and more than one extended module that offers specified functions to a portable platform based on the circumstances and purposes of the users. The extend module for specified purposes is connected to the basic module using a common interface that offers interoperability to the traditional interfaces. This paper gives the results of a survey to determine specifications of a reconfigurable mobile platform. Utilizing the results of the survey, we propose a prototype of the reconfigurable mobile platform to enable specialized functions. The design objective is to provide specialized functions required for user specific needs related to their age and physical condition. In addition, it can be used for mobile healthcare applications that are efficient in improving the user's health conditions by executing medical analysis and prescriptions.
