압밀시험의 수치해석에 의한 MCC 모델과 SSC 모델 비교 (Comparison of MCC and SSC Models Based on Numerical Analysis of Consolidation Test)

  • In order to integrate two consolidation theories of Terzaghi's consolidation theory and Mesri's secondary compression theory and to identify a model suitable for analyzing stress-strain behavior over time, numerical analysis on consolidation tests were conducted using a modified cam-clay model and a soft soil creep model and the following conclusions were obtained. The results of numerical analysis applying the theory that a linear proportional relationship is established between the void ratio at logarithmic scale and the permeability coefficient at logarithmic scale is better agreement with the result of oedometer test than the results of applying constant hydraulic conductivity. The modified cam-clay model is a model that does not include secondary compression, but the slope of the normal consolidation line corresponding to the compression index of the standard consolidation test includes secondary compression, so the actual settlement curve over time is lower than the predicted value through numerical analysis. It always gets smaller. Other previous studies that applied Terzaghi's consolidation theory to consolidation test analysis showed the same results and were cross-confirmed. The soft soil creep model, which includes secondary compression in the theory, showed good agreement in all sections including secondary compression in the consolidation test results. It was judged appropriate to use a soft soil creep model when performing numerical analysis of soft clay ground.

아스팔트 도로포장 유지보수(표면처리)용 유화아스팔트의 양생 및 점착거동특성 평가 (Evaluation of Asphalt Emulsions Curing and Adhesive Behavior used in Asphalt Pavement Preservation (Surface Treatments))

  • PURPOSES : The objective of this study is to evaluate the curing and adhesive behavior of asphalt emulsions including polymer-modified emulsions for chip seals and fog seals. METHODS : For the laboratory testing, the evaporation test, the bitumen bond strength (BBS) test, and the Vialit test are used. Also, the rolling ball test and the damping test are employed to evaluate the curing properties of the fog seal emulsions. In order to conduct all the tests in controled condition, all test procedures are performed in the environmental chamber. The CRS-2L and the SBS CRS-2P emulsions are used as a polymer-modified emulsion, and then unmodified emulsion, the CRS-2, is compared for the evaluation of chip seal performance. For the fog seal performance evaluation, two types of polymer-modified emulsions (FPME-1 and FPME-2) and one of unmodified emulsion, the CSS-1H, are employed. All the tests are performed at different curing times and temperatures. RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS : Overall, PMEs show better curing and adhesive behavior than non-PMEs regardless of treatments types. Especially, the curing and adhesive behavior of PMEs is much better than non-PMEs before 120 minutes of curing time. Since all the test results indicate that after 120 minutes of curing time the curing adhesive behavior of emulsions, the early curing time, i.e., 120 minutes, plays an important role in the performance of chip seals and fog seals.

친환경 UM수지를 사용한 섬유보강 폴리머 시멘트 모르타르의 내구성 및 강도 특성 (The Properties of Durability and Strength of Fiber-Reinforced Polymer-Modified Mortars Using Eco-Friendly UM Resin)

  • 이 연구에서는 환경을 고려한 고성능 보수 보강재료 개발을 위하여 섬유를 보강한 폴리머 시멘트 모르타르의 특성을 연구하였다. 친환경 수지인 UM 수지를 일반 시멘트 모르타르와 일정 비율로 혼합하였다. 강도 증진의 영향을 확인하기 위해서 PVA 섬유, 강섬유 그리고 PVA섬유와 강섬유를 일정한 비율로 혼합한 하이브리드 섬유를 일정한 비율로 첨가하였다. 강도특성을 파악하기 위하여 섬유를 보강한 폴리머 시멘트 모르타르에 대하여 압축강도, 쪼갬 인장강도, 휨강도 실험을 수행하였다. 내구성을 파악하기 위하여 폴리머 시멘트 모르타르에 대하여 흡수율 실험, 내약품성 실험을 수행하였다. 실험 결과 UM 수지 폴리머 시멘트 모르타르는 내구성능이 개선되었고, 이러한 폴리머 시멘트 모르타르에 섬유를 보강하면 콘크리트 및 모르타르의 취약점인 인장강도와 휨강도가 증가하였다. 향후 외부 노출된 콘크리트 구조물의 내구성 향상을 위한 보수보강재료로 사용성을 확인하였다.

Effects of surface modification with hydroxyl terminated polydimethylsiloxane on the corrosion protection of polyurethane coating

  • Polyurethane coating was designed to give a hydrophobic property on its surface by modifying it with hydroxyl terminated polydimethylsiloxane and then effects of surface hydrophobic tendency, water transport behavior and hence corrosion protectiveness of the modified polyurethane coating were examined using FT-IR/ATR spectroscopy, contact angle measurement and electrochemical impedance test. As results, the surface of polyurethane coating was changed from hydrophilic to hydrophobic property due primarily to a phase separation tendency between polyurethane and modifier by the modification. The phase separation tendency is more appreciable when modified by polydimethylsiloxane with higher content. Water transport behavior of the modified polyurethane coating decreased more in that with higher hydrophobic surface property. The decrease in the impedance modulus ${\mid}Z{\mid}$ at low frequency region in immersion test for polyurethane coatings was associated with the water transport behavior and surface hydrophobic properties of modified polyurethane coatings. The corrosion protectiveness of the modified polyurethane coated carbon steel generally increased with an increase in the modifier content, confirming that corrosion protectiveness of the modified polyurethane coating is well agreed with its water transport behavior.

Low Speed Thrust Characteristics of a Modified Sonic Arc Airfoil Rotor through Spin Test Measurement

  • The low speed aerodynamic characteristics for a modified sonic arc airfoil which is designed by using the nose shape function of sonic arc, the shape function of NACA four-digit wing sections, and Maple are experimentally investigated. The small rotor blades of a modified sonic arc and NACA0012 airfoil are precisely fabricated with a commercially available light aluminum(Al 6061-T6) and are spin tested over a low speed range (3000rpm-5000rpm). In a consuming power comparison, the consuming powers of NACA0012 are higher than that of modified sonic arcs at each pitch angle. The measured rotor thrust for each pitch angle is used to estimate the rotor thrust coefficient according to momentum theory in the hover state. The value of thrust coefficients for both two airfoils at each pitch angle show almost constant values over the low Mach number range. However, the rotor thrust coefficient of NACA0012 is higher than that of the modified sonic arc at each pitch angle. In conclusion, the aerodynamic performance of NACA0012 is better than that of modified sonic arcs in the low speed regime. This test model will provide a convenient platform for improving the aerodynamic performance of small scale airfoils and for performing design optimization studies.

요부굴곡과 신전관절범위측정을 위한 MMS방법 신뢰도 (Reliability of the Modified - Modified $Sch{\ddot{o}}ber$ Methods for Measuring Lumbar Flexion and Extension ROM)

  • The primary purpose of this study was to determine the reliability of lumbar flexion and extension range-of -motion measurements obtained with the modified -modified $Sch{\ddot{o}}ber$ methods on normal and subjects with low back pain. Sixty two, aged 20 to 30 years(x = 22.0, SD = 2.07), with normal and twenty two, aged 14 to 66 years(x = 35.6, SD = 15.88) with chronic low back pain were measured by two physical therapist with 3 to 10 years (x = 6.5) of clinical experience. The therapist used the modified-modified $Sch{\ddot{o}}ber$(MMS) techniques to measure, in random order and on two occasions, the subjects' lumbar flexion and extension. For therapist 1, Intraclass correlation coefficients(ICC) for test-retest reliability for normal varied .9923, .8802(flexion, extension). and low back pain pateint varied .9950, .9313(flexion, extension). For therapist 2. ICC. for test-retest reliability for normal varied .9903, .8921(flexion, extension). and low back pain pateint varied .9843, .9551(flexion, extension). Interrater reliability for normal varied .9477, .6960(flexion, extension) and low back pain pateint varied. 9776, .7576(flexion, extension). Thus the MMS. method appears to be a reliable method for normal and patient with low back pain.

파킨슨병 노인을 위한 수정된 강제-유도운동치료: 사전연구 (Modified constraint-Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT) for the Elderly With Parkinson's Disease: A Preliminary Study)

  • This study was designed to examine a 3-week modified constraint-induced movement therapy (CIMT) to the less-affected arm of patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) would improve function of the more-affected arm in PD. The subjects were 6 institutional older adults with PD and clients of the social welfare facilities. The subjects (2 men, 4 women) ranged in age from 66 to 90 years (mean age 77.2 yrs). Three clinical tests were used to determine the improvement of functional activity between before and after modified CIMT. The tests included Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS). Wolf Motor Function Test (WMFT), and Action Research Arm Test (ARAT). There were significantly differences after the modified CIMT for time performance in WMFT and pinch in ARAT (p<.05), No significant difference was noted after the modified CIMT for UPDRS and functional ability scale in WMFT. Therefore, the modified CIMT might improve time performance and is available to therapeutic program helping them improve functional ability for upper extremity in Parkinson's disease.

개질아스팔트 콘크리트 혼합물의 기계적 특성평가 (An Evaluation of Mechanical Characteristics of Modified Asphalt Concrete Mixture)

  • 현재 개질 아스팔트 콘크리트 혼합물의 공용성을 평가하기위한 많은 연구가 진행되었다. 본 연구는 개질 아스팔트 바인더 중에서 D사에서 개발된 Elvaloy개질 아스팔트 바인더를 사용한 아스팔트 혼합물의 기계적 특성을 평가하기위하여 수행되었다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기위하여 간접인장강도와 회복탄성계수 시험이 수행되었다. 시험결과, Elvaloy개질 아스팔트 콘크리트 혼합물의 간접인장강도와 회복탄성계수 값은 일반 밀입도 아스팔트 콘크리트 혼합물보다 높은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, Elvaloy개질 아스팔트 혼합물의 공용성과 안정성은 일반 밀입도 아스팔트 혼합물보다 우수할 것으로 예상된다.

국내 개 사상충증 발생율에 관한 조사 연구 (Prevalence Study on the Canine Filariasis in Korea)

  • Prevalence of microfilariae, Dirofilaria immitis, Dirofilaria repens, Acanthocheilonema dracunculoides from 506 German Shepherd dogs reared in Korea was investigated by modified Knott's test to detect circulating microfilaria and by acid-phosphatase staining for differentiation of each microfilaria species. In the modified Knott's test, 74 of 506 dogs (14.6%) were microfilaria positive, and the prevelance of each species of microfilaria was 90.5% (67 of 74 samples) for D. immitis, 5.4% (4 of 74 samples) for duplicate infection with D. immitis and D. repens and 4.1% (3 of 74 samples) for mixed infection with D. immitis, D. repens and A. dracunculoides. It was considered that the paying attention to the existence not only D. immitis but also other microfilariae were needed in canine filariasis.

  • 본 연구에서는 변동하중하의 피로수명 예측법에 관하여 미국 자동차공학회 (SAE) 피로손상분과의 광범위한 연구결과를 이용하여, 거시적인 피로균열 발생까지의 수명을 대상으로 검토한 것이다. 특히 현장에서 많이 직면하는, 재료의 피로특성에 관한 데이터가 거의 없는 경우에 대해서도 검토하고 있다.
