  • This paper presents a SISO nonlinear controller for the power system consisting of a synchronous generator connected to an infinite bus. The proposed controller is based on input-output feedback linearization, with a modified version of the terminal voltage equation used as the output. The resulting closed-loop has no internal dynamics, and thus stability is guaranteed. The controller performance is seen to be effective through simulations.

  • We have measured pressure distributions within the diffuser and pressures at the inlet and outlet of the compressor in orde to match impeller and low-solidity diffuser of 500RT centrifugal refrigerant-compressor which has been developed in LG Cable Ltd. Modified Stanitz equation is used to predict the measured data by tuning several parameters and then is validated. Using the validated parameters and modified Stanitz equation, we have obtained data necessary to design the diffuser.

  • In this article, we construct exact traveling wave solutions for nonlinear PDEs in mathematical physics via the (1+1)- dimensional combined Korteweg- de Vries and modified Korteweg- de Vries (KdV-mKdV) equation, the (1+1)- dimensional compouned Korteweg- de Vries Burgers (KdVB) equation, the (2+1)- dimensional cubic Klien- Gordon (cKG) equation, the Generalized Zakharov- Kuznetsov- Bonjanmin- Bona Mahony (GZK-BBM) equation and the modified Korteweg- de Vries - Zakharov- Kuznetsov (mKdV-ZK) equation, by using the (($\frac{G'}{G}$) -expansion method combined with the Riccati equation, where G = $G({\xi})$ satisfies the Riccati equation $G'({\xi})=A+BG^2$ and A, B are arbitrary constants.

  • In the present paper, we construct the traveling wave solutions involving parameters of nonlinear evolution equations in the mathematical physics via the (3+1)- dimensional potential- YTSF equation, the (3+1)- dimensional generalized shallow water equation, the (3+1)- dimensional Kadomtsev- Petviashvili equation, the (3+1)- dimensional modified KdV-Zakharov- Kuznetsev equation and the (3+1)- dimensional Jimbo-Miwa equation by using a simple method which is called the ($\frac{G'}{G}$)- expansion method, where $G\;=\;G(\xi)$ satisfies a second order linear ordinary differential equation. When the parameters are taken special values, the solitary waves are derived from the travelling waves. The travelling wave solutions are expressed by hyperbolic, trigonometric and rational functions.

  • This paper describes an economical prediction procedure for heat transfer phenomenon through a channel containing an abrupt asymmetric expansion in flow cross-seetional area. Numerical solutions for the flow field are obtained by the finite difference numerical method applied to the modified boundary layer equations. Modified boundary energy equation is used to analyze heat transfer as modified boundary momentum equation. Predictions of the method compare very favorable with exprimental data. Results of this study by modified boundary layer equation are as follows : 1. The computation time required for the scheme is at least an order of magnitude less than for the numerical solution of the full Navier-stokes and Energy eguations. 2. In laminar flow, the maximum heat transfer occurs downstream of the reattachment point.

  • White uniformity is one of the important inspection factors determining the image quality of CRT screen. In the full white pattern, white uniformity means the degree of uniform distribution of white color across the whole screen. To elicit the sensitivity factors affecting the decision of the white uniformity quality, experiments in which participants were confronted with 6 evaluation points embedded in 3 measurement groups on a CRT screen were conducted to gather the psychophysical data that are the level of white uniformity subjects perceived and CA100 produced. These data were used to develop a modified CIE1976 equation for calculating white uniformity. Performance comparison between the original CIE1976 equation and the modified equation was conducted in terms of accuracy test and magnitude estimation. It was concluded the modified equation is more sensitive in the change of white uniformity, compared to the original CIE1976 equation.

  • In this paper, a Klein-Gordon equation is solved by using the homotopy analysis method (HAM), homotopy perturbation method (HPM) and modified homotopy perturbation method (MHPM). The approximation solution of this equation is calculated in the form of series which its components are computed easily. The uniqueness of the solution and the convergence of the proposed methods are proved. The accuracy of these methods are compared by solving an example.

  • To develop a software, there is a relationship between development organization's productivity, effort, development schedule, and software size. It is software equation that motive these relations. Basically, relationship between size-effort and size-schedule is applied. If this relationship is not proper, there would be no effect of the cost-schedule tradeoff equation that is derived from software equation, and the manpower profile analysis, etc. To solve these unwanted problems, we presented a modified software equation and a cost-schedule tradeoff model based on the modified software equation. To improve software development success rate, applying proposed model will help in contract negotiation or bid.

  • In this paper, we used modified tanh-coth method, combined with Riccati equation and secant hyperbolic ansatz to construct abundantly many real and complex exact travelling wave solutions to KdV-Burgers (KdVB) equation with forcing term. The real part is the sum of the shock wave solution of a Burgers equation and the solitary wave solution of a KdV equation with forcing term, while the imaginary part is the product of a shock wave solution of Burgers with a solitary wave travelling solution of KdV equation. The method gives more solutions than the previous methods.
