  • Healthcare organizations are overwhelmingly embracing smart value-based care strategies, which focuses on providing superior treatment at a significantly lower cost and quality of service (QoS). For these purposes, fifth generation (5G) of mobile service provides an innumerable improvement that clearly outperforms previous generations e.g., 3G and 4G. However, as with most advancements, 5G is projected to introduce new challenges, prompting the community to think about what comes next. This research was conducted to examine the most recent smart 5G technology applications and the solutions they provide to the healthcare industry. Finally, the paper discusses how the upcoming 6G technology has the potential to transform the future of healthcare sector even beyond the current 5G systems.

Biometric information database and service modelling in digital patch system

  • Recently, the bio-sensing information systems for collecting and analysing human body information of a patient in real time in the field of medical information and healthcare information service are continuously increasing. Specially, various wearable devices such as a wrist, a garment, and a skin attachment type for supporting health information of a mobile user are rapidly increasing. Until now, there is no patch-type biometric information service model. Therefore, this paper presents a biometric information system model and the application examples to support biometric information sensing and health information service of mobile user with digital patch system as a new biometric information system. As a result, through this research, research issues based on digital patch system are searched to suggest the direction of continuous research.

만성 질환자 관리를 위한 U-Healthcare 시스템 구현 (Implementation of U-Healthcare System for Chronic Disease Management)

  • 최근 노인인구의 증가하는 추세에 따라 만성질환자의 수도 증가하고 있으며 건강 관리문제가 중요하게 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 만성질환자의 건강관리를 위한 유헬스케어 시스템을 구현하고자 한다. 제안한 만성 질환자 관리 시스템은 생체 계측 시스템과 모바일 게이트웨이 그리고 의료정보 관리 서버 그리고 클라이언트로 구성되면 생체 신호는 심전도, 혈압, 혈당, 산소포화도 등의 모듈로 구성하였다. 혈당체크는 이동성을 고려하여 생체계측 시스템으로 전송하는 방법과 게이트웨이로 전송하는 방법 중 선택할 수 있도록 구현하였다. 제안한 생체 계측 시스템과 모바일 게이트웨이는 블루투스 통신을 이용하여 전송한다. 전송된 생체 데이터는 모바일 게이트웨이에서 건강상태를 감시하거나 네트워크 서버로 전송하고 클라이언트을 이용하여 검색 할 수 있도록 하였다. 만성질환자의 생체신호 감시 시스템을 구현함으로서 측정되어진 생체 데이터를 모니터링하여 현재의 건강상태를 확인할 수 있었으며 모바일 환경에서 다양한 생체신호를 전송하였다.

A Study on the Quality Improvement of Mobile App Services of Medical Institutions: Focus on the Kano Model and PCSI Index

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study was to examine quality improvement priorities by examining not only quality classifications but also PCSI (Kano, 1984) of mobile app service qualities of general hospitals in the Metropolitan Area and offer potential improvements. Research design, data, and methodology - The study examined five of service qualities, including app design, reaction, convenience, safety and supply of information by precedent studies. 20 test items were selected. A total of 60 positive and negative questions to estimate customer satisfaction and PCSI was investigated. The author collected 300 copies from interviewees who made use of the app services of 13 general hospitals within one year, and classified quality factors by using table of quality assessment and also estimated the customer satisfaction index (Timko, 1993). The study made quality improvement priority by the PCSI index. Results - Reaction of the mobile app service quality ranked the highest PCSI, and payment safety ranked the highest, and customer support and supply of the information ranked high as well. It was observed that design ranked comparatively lower in these categories. Conclusion - Safety, reaction and supply of information should be prioritized to reorganize and improve the mobile app services.

  • U-Healthcare service is a real-time service using the vital signs which are continuously transferred from monitoring sensors attached to mobile patients under the wireless network environments. It should monitor the health condition of mobile patients everywhere at any time. In this paper, we have improved two features of the three layered mobile patient monitoring system with load balancing ability. First, the simulation process has been improved by allowing the number of related nodes to be changed. Secondly, we have modified S node to which queue is added to reduce the loss rate of collecting data from patients during the delay of S node process. And the data from the patient with high priority can be transferred to the server immediately through the filtering function. Furthermore, we have solved the problem of redundancy in sharing information among S nodes by differentiating process time to each S node. By performing a DEVS Java-based system simulation, we have verified the efficiency of this improved system.

  • Greater use of mobile phone devices seems inevitable because the health industry and cancer care are facing challenges such as resource constraints, rising care costs, the need for immediate access to healthcare data of types such as audio video texts for early detection and treatment of patients and increasing remote aids in telemedicine. Physicians, in order to study the causes of cancer, detect cancer earlier, act in prevention measures, determine the effectiveness of treatment and specify the reasons for the treatment ineffectiveness, need to access accurate, comprehensive and timely cancer data. Mobile devices provide opportunities and can play an important role in consulting, diagnosis, treatment, and quick access to health information. There easy carriage make them perfect tools for healthcare providers in cancer care management. Key factors in cancer care management systems through a mobile phone health approach must be considered such as human resources, confidentiality and privacy, legal and ethical issues, appropriate ICT and provider infrastructure and costs in general aspects and interoperability, human relationships, types of mobile devices and telecommunication related points in specific aspects. The successful implementation of mobile-based systems in cancer care management will constantly face many challenges. Hence, in applying mobile cancer care, involvement of users and considering their needs in all phases of project, providing adequate bandwidth, preparation of standard tools that provide maximum mobility and flexibility for users, decreasing obstacles to interrupt network communications, and using suitable communication protocols are essential. It is obvious that identifying and reducing barriers and strengthening the positive points will have a significant role in appropriate planning and promoting the achievements of mobile cancer care systems. The aim of this article is to explain key points which should be considered in designing appropriate mobile health systems in cancer care as an approach for improving cancer care management.

최적화된 건강관리를 위한 표준 프로토콜 기반 헬스케어 서비스 개발 (Development of Standard Protocol-based Healthcare Services for Optimized Health Management)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a healthcare service based on standard protocol and information communication technology for mother's sustainable postpartum care. The developed service was consisted of a client area where mothers measure, manage and transmit their vital signs using their own smartphone and personal health devices, and a server area that manages and shares with the received mother's vital signs and the results of examination results and personal health records. The client area collects vital signs through the IEEE 11073 Personal Health Device (PHD) using the m-health application of the previous study and Continua Health alliance certified personal health devices and transfers to Health Level Seven (HL7) V2.4, Continuity of Care Record (CCR) and Continuity of Care Document (CCD). The server area consists of a mobile web that manages and shares the HL7 Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR)-compliant personal health records to ensure interoperability of examination results, and a mobile web where the postpartum caregiver enters and manages the results of the mother's examination results and provides it to the mother. In this way, the healthcare service of this study securing continued exchanges between the mother and postpartum caregiver improves the quality of life of the mother not only to satisfy the needs of the mother who was discharged but also through self-management and postpartum. In the future, we will conduct a study applying mothers and postpartum caregiver after approval of a clinical trail at a university hospital to evaluate developed healthcare services.

  • 모바일 헬스케어 디바이스에서 가장 많이 사용되는 PPG 신호는 디바이스 사용자의 움직임의 영향에 따라 심박수 측정의 정확도가 떨어진다. 그 이유는 사용자의 동잡음의 주파수 대역이 PPG 신호의 주파수 대역과 겹쳐 있기 때문이다. 이러한 동잡음을 제거하기 위해 주파수 분석법, 가속도 센서 적용 등의 다양한 방법들이 연구되어 우수한 성능을 제시하였지만, 저가의 헬스케어 디바이스에 이들 필터법을 적용함에 있어 많은 연산처리 시간과 센서 가격 측면 때문에 적용하기가 어렵다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 본 연구에서는 실시간으로 보다 정확한 심박수를 추출하기 위해 퍼지추론 시스템과 적응노치 필터를 이용한 PPG 신호처리 기법을 제안하고 그 성능을 평가하였다. 그 결과, 기존의 방법보다 우수한 결과를 보였으며, 이 결과를 토대로 제안된 방법을 모바일 헬스케어 디바이스 설계에 적용한다면 실시간으로 보다 정확한 심박수 측정이 가능할 것이다.

스마트폰을 이용한 헬스케어 스케쥴링 애플리케이션 (Healthcare Application Modeling Using Smartphone)

  • 최근 의료 분야는 환자 데이터를 무선으로 전달하는 모바일 헬스케어 시스템을 사용한다. 그러나 현재 환자에게 지원하는 메시지는 특정 환자를 만족시키기는 어렵고, 당뇨환자이나 임신부와 같은 정기적인 환자 관리를 도와주는 헬스케어 시스템이 부족하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 WPAN의 네트워킹 및 데이터 전송방식과 응용 프레임워크를 적용하여, 특히 임신부를 대상으로 임신확인부터 주기별 건강관리, 태아움직임, 태교 및 건강상식 등을 관리하는 스마트폰을 이용한 헬스케어 스케줄링 애플리케이션을 제안하였다.

u-환경에서 헬스케어 응용 서비스 지원 액티브 모델 기반의 서비스 컴포넌트에 관한 연구 (A study of Service Component Based on Active Model Support Healthcare Application Service in u-Environment)

  • 본 논문에서는 u-헬스케어 응용 서비스 지원을 위한 액티브 모델 기반의 서비스 컴포넌트를 제안한다. 서비스 컴포넌트는 헬스케어 응용 서비스의 개발을 지원하기 위해 기능을 세분화하여 구현하였다. 특히, 분산 객체그룹 프레임워크를 기반으로 다양한 헬스케어 홈서비스에 분산객체 기술을 이용하여 통합된 환경에서 적응형 정보 서비스를 제공하는데 중점을 두었다. 그리고 본 논문에서 제안한 서비스 컴포넌트를 헬스케어 홈 모니터링, 모바일 모니터링, 웹기반 모니터링과 같은 헬스케어 응용 서비스에 적용하여 수행 결과를 보인다. 또한 응답시간과 네트워크 부하와 시스템 부하에 대한 성능 평가 결과를 보였다.
