Characteristics of turbulent lifted flames in coflow jet have been investigated by varying initial temperature through the heating coflow air. In the turbulent regime, liftoff height increases linearly with fuel jet velocity and decreases nonlinearly as the coflow temperature increases. This can be attributed to the increase of turbulent propagation speed, which is strongly related to laminar burning velocity. Dimensionless liftoff heights are correlated well with dimensionless jet velocity, which are scaled with parameters determining local flow velocity and turbulent propagation speed. This implies that the turbulent lifted flames are stabilized by balance mechanism between local turbulent burning velocity and flow velocity. Blowout velocity can be obtained from the ratio of mixing time to chemical time. Comparing to previous researches, thermal diffusivity should be evaluated from the initial temperature instead of adiabatic flame temperature.

A multi-step quasi-global mechanism is developed for the kerosene/oxygen combustion analysis including dissociation products. Reaction constants of the global reaction are determined to have agreement with experimental data. The mechanism is used for the numerical analysis of the combustion flow field of the kerosene/oxygen shear coaxial injector. The results from high-resolution numerical analysis confirmed qualitatively that the recess enhance the fuel/air mixing and combustion efficiency by the increased flow instabilities.
Hydrogels containing ketoprofen were prepared by adding NaOH or $Ca(OH)_2$ solution to Eudragit L, S and Eudispert hv at various concentration. And xerogels were prepared by drying hydrogels. On the other hand, organogels containing ketoprofen were prepared by mixing Eudragit L or S and propylene glycol. Effects of polymer content and base on drug release were investigated using KP V dissolution method. The release rate of ketoprofen from Eudragit L & S hydrogel decreased with increasing in polymer content. And the drug release rate from cal. hydroxide based gels were more decreased than that from sod. hydroxide based gels. At pH 7.2 dissolution medium, e release of ketoprofen from Edispert hv hydrogel followed apparent zero order kinetics. The release of ketoprofen from xerogel involved in simultaneous absorption of water and desorption of ketoprofen via a pH-dependant swelling controlled mechanism. The release of ketoprofen from Eudragit S organogels followed apparent zero order kinetics, providing strong evidence for a surface erosion mechanism.

Due to its accuracy and efficiency, reduced kinetic mechanism of diesel surrogate is widely used as fuel model when applying 3-D diesel engine simulation. But for the well-developed prediction of diesel surrogate reduced kinetic mechanism, it is important to know some meaningful factors which affect to ignition delay time. Meanwhile, ignition delay time consists of two parts. One is the chemical ignition delay time related with the chemical reaction, and the other is the physical ignition delay time which is affected by physical behavior of the fuel droplet. Especially for chemical ignition delay time, chemical properties of each fuel were studied for a long time, but researches on their mixtures have not been done widely. So it is necessary to understand the chemical characteristics of their mixtures for more precise and detailed modeling of surrogate diesel oil. And it shows same ignition trend of paraffin mixture with those of single component, and shorter ignition delay at low/high initial temperature when mixing paraffin and toluene.

In whole world consciousness of environment maintenance have increased very quickly for the end of the 20th century. To use and disuse toxic substances have been controled at the field of industry. Also the field of lighting source belong to environmental control. And in the future the control will be strong. In radiational mechanism of fluorescence lamp mechanism is the worst environmental problem. In radiational mechanism of fluorescence lamp mercury is the worst environmental problem root. In the mercury free lighting source system the Xe gas lamp is one type. And the Ne:Xe mixing gas lamp improvements firing voltage of Xe gas lamp. Purpose and subject of this study are understand, efficiency, ideal of Ne:Xe plasma which mercury free lamp. Before ICP was designed, basic parameters of plasma, which are electron temperature and electron density, were measured and calculated by Langmuir probe data. Property of electron temperature and electron density were confirmed by changing ratio of Ne:Xe.

In this study the SrBi$_2$Ta$_2$$O_{9}$ (SBT) thin films were etched by using magnetically enhanced inductively coupled Ar/CHF$_3$plasma as function of CHF$_3$/(Ar+CHF$_3$)gas mixing ratio. Maximum etch rate of SBT thin films was 1650 $\AA$/min and the selectivities of SBT to Pt and photoresist(PR) were 1.35 and 0.94 respectively under CHF$_3$/(Ar+CHF$_3$) of 0.1 For study on etching mechanism of SBT thin film X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) surface analyses and secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) mass analysis of etched SBT surfaces were performed. Among the elements of SBT thin film. M(Sr, Bi, Ta)-O bonds are broken by Ar ion bombardment and form SrF and TaF$_2$by chemical reaction with F. SrF and TaF$_2$are removed more easily by Ar ion bombardment. Scanning electron microscopy(SEM) was used for the profile examination of etched SBT film and the cross-sectional SEM profile of etched SBT film under CHF$_3$(Ar+CHF$_3$) of 0.1 was about 85$^{\circ}$X>.
Light construction waste (LCW) particles are pieces of light concrete or insulation wall with light quality and certain strength, containing rich isolated and disconnected pores. Mixing LCW particles with soil can be one of the alternative lightweight soils. It can lighten and stabilize the deep-thick soft soil in-situ. In this study, the unconfined compressive strength (UCS) and its mechanism of Construction Waste Stabilized Lightweight Soil (CWSLS) are investigated. According to the prescription design, totally 35 sets of specimens are tested for the index of dry density (DD) and unconfined compressive strength (UCS). The results show that the DD of CWSLS is mainly affected by LCW content, and it decreases obviously with the increase of LCW content, while increases slightly with the increase of cement content. The UCS of CWSLS first increases and then decreases with the increase of LCW content, existing a peak value. The UCS increases linearly with the increase of cement content, while the strength growth rate is dramatically affected by the different LCW contents. The UCS of CWSLS mainly comes from the skeleton impaction of LCW particles and the gelation of soil-cement composite slurry. According to the distribution of LCW particles and soil-cement composite slurry, CWSLS specimens are divided into three structures: "suspend-dense" structure, "framework-dense" structure and "framework-pore" structure.
In this work, the electrokinetic interactions between the undulated structure of an ion-selective membrane and electroconvective instability has been studied using numerical analysis. Using finite element method, electric field-ionic species transport-flow field were analyzed by fully-coupled manner. Through the numerical study, the Dukhin's mode as the mechanism of undulated surface for the electroconvective instability were proven. The Dukhin's mode which competes with Rubinstein's mode has roles of (i) decreasing transition voltage to overlimiting regime and (ii) non-linearly increasing of overlimiting current. Also, (iii) the mixing efficiency is enhanced by removal mechanism of high-frequency Fourier mode of the electroconvective instability. Conclusively, the undulated ion-selective surface would provide energy-efficient mechanism for ion-selective transport systems such as electrodialysis, electrochemical battery, etc.
We prepared a number of reaction-bonded silicon carbides (RBSCs) made from various mixing ratios of raw SiC particles, and investigated their microstructure and etch characteristics by Reactive Ion Etch (RIE). Increasing the amount of $9.5{\mu}m$-SiC particles results in a microstructure with relatively coarser Si regions. On the other hand, increasing that of $2.6{\mu}m$-SiC particles produces much finer Si regions. The addition of more than 50 wt% of $2.6{\mu}m$-SiC particles, however, causes the microstructure to become partially coarse. We also evaluated their etching behaviors in terms of surface roughness (Ra), density and weight changes, and microstructure development by employing Confocal Laser Scanning Microscope (CLSM) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) techniques. During the etching process of the prepared samples, we confirmed that the residual Si region was rapidly removed and formed pits isolating SiC particles as islands. This leads to more intensified ion field on the SiC islands, and causes physical corrosion on them. Increased addition of $2.6{\mu}m$-SiC particles produces finer residual Si region, and thus decreases the surface roughness (Ra.) as well as causing weight loss after etching process by following the above etching mechanism.
The objectives of this research are to (1) observe changes in particle size distribution due to formation of microflocs during coagulation process (2) identify the membrane fouling potential on cross flow system (3) investigate the mechanism of membrane fouling. The rate of flux decline for the hydrophobic membrane was significantly greater than for the hydrophilic membrane, regardless of pretreatment conditions. The pretreatment of the raw water significantly reduced the fouling of the UF membrane. Also, the rate of flux decline for the hydrophobic membrane was considerably greater than for the hydrophilic membrane. Applying coagulation process before membrane filtration showed not only reducing membrane fouling, but also improving the removal of dissolved organic materials that might otherwise not be removed by the membrane. That is, during the mixing period, substantial changes in particle size distribution occurred under rapid and slow mixing condition due to the simultaneous formation of microflocs and NOM precipitates. Therefore, combined pretreatment using coagulation not only improved dissolved organics removal efficiency but also flux recovery efficiency.
