Analysis of the Efficiency of Improved Bubble Sheet for Heat Curing in Cold Weather

  • When building with concrete in cold weather, an insulation method of heat curing must be determined, and a holistic curing plan that considers the characteristics of structures, the heat loss coefficient of a curing sheet, the joint condition of the curing materials and the quantity of heat produced by a heating apparatus is an essential prerequisite for protection against early frost damage. But on a number of national construction sites, there have been serious problems in cold weather concreting due to the unreliability of the information obtained from practical experience. In the construction field in Japan, there is a specification for heat curing prepared by Japanese Architectural Society, which provides an equation for calculating heat quantity. It is also necessary to adopt a detailed specification for a standard heat curing method that is applicable to all national construction sites. In this study, the effect of bubble sheets on the economic feasibility of cold weather concrete is investigated through a comparison with the blue sheets commonly prescribed in national construction sites. In conclusion, this study found that bubble sheets had the effect of reducing the cost of curing materials and the fuel cost consumed by a heating apparatus, compared to the use of blue sheets.

Identifying torsional eccentricity in buildings without performing detailed structural analysis

  • Seismic design codes permit the use of Equivalent Static Analysis of buildings considering torsional eccentricity e with dynamic amplification factors on structural eccentricity and some accidental eccentricity. Estimation of e in buildings is not addressed in codes. This paper presents a simple approximate method to estimate e in RC Moment Frame and RC Structural Wall buildings, which required no detailed structural analysis. The method is validated by 3D analysis (using commercial structural analysis software) of a spectrum of building. Results show that dynamic amplification factor should be applied on torsional eccentricity when performing Response Spectrum Analysis also. Also, irregular or mixed modes of oscillation arise in torsionally unsymmetrical buildings owing to poor geometric distribution of mass and stiffness in plan, which is captured by the mass participation ratio. These irregular modes can be avoided in buildings of any plan geometry by limiting the two critical parameters (normalised torsional eccentricity e/B and Natural Period Ratio 𝜏 =T𝜃/T, where B is building lateral dimension, T𝜃 uncoupled torsional natural period and T uncoupled translational natural period). Suggestions are made for new building code provisions.

  • Recent trends in the construction of building frame feature the increase use of composite steel concrete members functioning together in what terms of mixed structural systems. One of such systems, RCS(reinforced concrete column and steel beam) system, is known to make use of type of member in the most efficient manner to maximize the structural and economic benifits. Based on the results, joint behavior and design were described in terms of two primary modes of failure ; joint panel shear and vertical bearing. In test specimen, joint deformation is observed at internal region greater than at external region.

  • In this study, there are kind of property experiments like fluidity, compressive strength, bleeding measurement, concrete sink for CFT use high fluidity concrete. The property difference between before transmit and after transmit concrete in the mock up test with ready mixed concrete equipment is examined. The variable factors in mock up are diaphragm existence and nonexistence, diaphragm placing hole sizes. To investigate the concrete property under diaphragm, concrete packing ability tests is peformed. High fluidity and strength concrete which satisfied with mix criteria could apply to building construction field. It it is quality managed with use of packing ability analysis.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the exterior remodeling examples of urban houses which have been changed to be mixed-use buildings with commercial use, and to guide the future exterior remodeling. Some of the research results are as follows: 1) Exterior remodeling of commercialized urban detached houses is focused on two-dimensional changes of exterior surface, rather than on three-dimensional changes of mass or shape. 2) Unlike commercial buildings generally relying on signboards to express their commercial nature, the exterior-renovated houses with commercial uses mainly rely on the image of whole building shape based on exterior materials and colors. 3) Installations of free-standing walls and double skins are preferred as exterior remodeling techniques, due to the structural limitation of exterior walls.

  • The objectives of this study are to illustrate an alternative housing type responding to the social requirements and customers' needs, to suggest the improvement plan for the related laws and regulations through survey of the actual condition for housing buildings such multi have been raised in classification due to that the existing law systems including the current use classification of residential buildings have been defined unclearly. Especially, various social problems have yielded in line with emergence of the housing type which is not legally classified as residential however used for the living purpose practically. Current zoning planning and related law system have rigidity. So, It is required to introduce a flexible classification system which protects the residential environment based on the housing purpose, function and habitability and provides correspondence between residence and ownership/management method. The legal classification system should be revised in a way that the housing use classification corresponds with the zoning system through breakdown of the use classification system

성인이 다른 굵은 골재를 혼합사용한 콘크리트의 기초적 특성 분석 (Analysis of Fundamental Properties of Concrete Using Mix of Coarse Aggregate With Formation Causes)

  • 최근 레미콘 산업에서 골재의 안정적인 수급을 위해 과거에는 거의 사용하지 않았던 저품질의 골재를 혼합사용하여 천연골재의 일부로 대체하고자 시도하고 있다. 그러나 저품질의 골재는 건설폐기물 처리과정에서 생산되는 순환골재, 산업활동에 의해 생산되는 부산물 골재 등으로 KS 기준에 적합하지 않을 수 있는 문제점이 있다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 부족한 골재자원의 유효한 활용을 위해 화강암 부순골재를 기본으로 순환골재, 고로 및 전기로 슬래그 골재를 단독 및 혼합사용하여 콘크리트의 기초적 특성을 비교하였다. 그 결과 슬럼프는 골재를 혼합사용한 경우 단독사용한 경우에 비하여 전반적으로 유동성이 0~10% 증가하여 단위수량이나 SP제 사용량 저감 등의 효과를 기대할 수 있어 경제적으로 유리할 것으로 판단된다. 압축강도는 골재를 혼합사용한 경우 연속입도 분포를 나타내어 콘크리트 내부의 공극을 채워 단독사용한 경우에 비하여 압축강도가 0~10% 증가하였다. 따라서 성인이 다른 골재를 적절한 비율로 혼합하여 표준입도범위를 만족하게 하여 활용하면 콘크리트의 유동성 및 압축강도의 증진 효과를 나타내어 혼합골재의 유용성을 확인할 수 있었다.

레미콘 회수수의 재활용을 위한 지연형 안정화제의 특성 (Properties of Retard Type Stabilizing Agent for Reuse of Sludge Water of Ready Mixed Concrete)

  • 트럭믹서 및 배쳐 플랜트 세척으로 발생되는 회수수를 안정화시켜 재이용하는 것은 콘크리트의 품질 불안정을 해소하고 강도 향상의 효과를 기대할 수 있기 때문에 이의 활용방안에 대한 적극적인 검토가 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 우리나라의 레미콘 생산 조건에서 사용 가능한 안정화제의 종류를 도출하고자 이를 사용한 회수수 중의 고형분 성상에 대하여 실험?고찰하였다. 실험결과, 회수수 전용 안정화제인 옥시칼본산계 지연제의 고형분량 감소가 상대적으로 우세하였다. 다만, 잉여 반응량에 의해 시멘트 페이스트의 응결지연이 관찰되었으나 레미콘 적용상 저해되는 수준은 아니었다. 안정화제를 혼입한 회수수를 방치함에 따른 영향에서는 초기의 응결지연 효과가 7${\~}$8일 정도에서 상수도수만을 사용한 수준으로 회복됨을 알 수 있었으며, 2${\~}$3일 정도에 안정화 회수수를 사용하는 것이 효과적임을 확인할 수 있었다. 한편, 국내산 당류계 초지연제 역시 유사한 효과를 보여 적용성이 높은 것으로 파악되었다. 시판되는 회수수 안정화제는 수입에 의존하고 있으므로 사회비용의 절감을 위해 안정화제의 국산화가 시급하며 가능한 안정화제의 다각적인 사용성 검토가 긴요하다 할 것이다.

  • The design principles of new urbanism (NU) have been adopted for new towns-in town projects for inner city neighborhoods in Seoul, Korea Since 2000. Here, ten NU principles were matched to four urban design categories: streets, land use, housing and buildings, and public open spaces. These elements were analyzed for Eunpyung New Town project. Through the case, the applications and implications NU principles are explored. The principles of connectivity, quality architecture and urban design, increased density, green transportation, sustainability, and quality of life were positively and successively adopted for streets, land use, housing and buildings, and public open spaces. The principles of mixed-use and diversity and traditional neighborhood structure were only partially applied in land use, housing and buildings, and public open spaces. It should be note that the walkability principle is intended not for job-housing proximity, but for pedestrian-friendly street design.

폐자원을 활용한 내장용 인조석재의 물리적 특성 (Physical Properties of Artificial Interior stone Using Waste Resources)

  • 지구온난화 현상으로 인해 환경 문제가 심각하며, 또한, 시멘트의 원료인 석회석과 골재의 무분별한 채취로 인한 환경파괴와 자원고갈의 심각성이 강조되고 있는 상황에서 문제점을 줄이려는 노력이 지속되고 있는 실정이다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 천연골재 대체재인 폐자기를 혼합하여 적용시켰다. 또한, 시멘트 대체재로써 마그네시아 인산염 복합체와 플라이애시를 혼입하여 그에 따른 인조석재의 특성을 알아보고자 한다. 실험결과, 폐유리 혼합비율 60% 및 폐자기 혼합비율 70%가 인조석재의 전반적인 실험에서 가장 우수한 것으로 판단되며, 인조석재의 기초적인 자료로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
