In this study, retardation behavior of fatigue crack under single overloading of the mixed mode I+II state was experimentally investigated. To produce single overload in the mixed mode I+II state, the compact tension shear (CTS) specimen and loading device were used. The propagation tests for fatigue crack were performed under mode I loading overloading afterwards. We examined the observed deformation aspects, variation of fatigue life and crack propagation rate, and the aspects of retardation behavior from tests. The retardation effect of mixed-mode single overload on fatigue crack propagation behavior was smaller than that of mode I single overload. It has been confirmed that the retardation behavior did not immediately appear and the retardation length was short when the component of mixed-mode overload was changed.
Hydrox gas which is the mixed gas of hydrogen and oxygen gained fromwater electrolysis is one of the new clean energy sources and thus is researched and commercialized actively. Especially, it can be replaced the fossil energy and shows the better quality compared to the conventional energy such as LPG or acetylene gas. The mixed gas of hydrogen and oxygen is gained from water electrolysis reaction. It has constant volume ratio 2:1 of hydrogen and oxygen, and it is used as a source of thermal energy by combustion reaction. Further, hydrox gas is nearly a mixed ideal gas combusting itself completely and its combustion shows anunique characteristics of implosion. In this study, temperature rise effects on hydrox gas content through mixed combustion test of kerosene and hydrox gas and LPG and hydrox gas are investigated. it is also confirmed that economy of mixed combustion of hydrox gas as effective energy is fairly probable.
The frequency independent critical concentration (Cc) of xanthan and carob (X/C) mixed gel was determined based on the Winter-Chambon's theory. X/C mixed (X/C=1:1 ratio) gels were prepared from 0.1 to 1% of concentration. The linear viscoelastic properties, i.e., storage and loss modulus, of X/C mixed gel at $20^{\circ}C$ were measured by frequency sweep tests. The frequency independence of tangent function of phase angle (tan ${\delta}$) of X/C mixed gels was graphically determined from the intersection of the plot of phase angle against concentration at varied frequencies. The intersection (C=0.43%) was considered to be Cc of X/C mixed gel.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the sensory and mechanical characteristics of Mohaebyung by the addition of chestnut, jujube, dried persimmon, pine nut, and codonopsis lanceolata flours. In the sensory evaluation of Mohaebyung, the acceptance for the color, moistness and sweetness was best with the addition of 25% mixed flour. The flavor, grain, chewiness and overall quality were best with the addition of 20% mixed flour. As a result of a textural analysis, the hardness and springiness of Mohaebyung decreased with increases in the addition of mixed flour. The redness, yellowness and lightness of Mohaebyung were increased with increases in the addition of mixed flour. A moisture content of 15% in the mixed flour added to the Mohaebyung was higher with 25% mixed flour.
The purpose of this study is to research and develop solid polymer electrolyte(SPE) for Li polymer battery. This paper describes temperature dependence of conductivity, impedance spectroscopy, electrochemical properties of PAN/PVDF electrolytes as a function of a mixed ratio. PAN/PVDF based polymer electrolyte films were prepared by thermal gellification method of preweighed PAN/PVDF, plasticizer and Li salt. By adding PVDF and as a function of plasticizer mixed ratio to PAN-LiClO4 electrolyte, its conductivity was higher than that of PAN-$LiClO4_4$ electrolyte. The conductivity of PAN/PVDF electrolytes was $10^{-3}S/cm$. $10PAN10PVDFLiClO_4PC_5EC_5$ electrolyte shows the better conductivity of the others. Steady state current method and ac impedance used for the determination of transference numbers in PAN/PVDF electrolyte film. The transference number of $10PAN10PVDFLiClO_4PC_5EC_5$ electrolyte is 0.45.

Paper consists of fiber network and paper properties were highly affected by fiber characteristics. Many researchers have tried to relate fiber and paper properties. Softwood and hardwood fiber's are quite different in their properties. Generally, softwood fiber's are longer and more flexible than hardwood fibers. At present, many paper mills make mixed paper with softwood and hardwood fibers except for special grade. During fracture some fiber's are broken and others are pulled out. In this paper, the number of broken and pulled out fiber's during fracture is analyzed depending on the mixing ratio of softwood and hardwood fiber's. Fiber length, curl, kink, coarseness, WRV and formation index were measured. Double-edged strength samples were prepared to observe the number of broken and pulled out fiber's. Mixed paper strength was decreased with increasing hardwood fibers ratio. During fracture, softwood fiber's were more likely broken and hardwood fibers were more likely pulled out. The strength of paper which consists of softwood fibers was determined by fiber's broken strength and that of hardwood fibers by fiber's debonding strength. Paper strength was changed depending on the fiber's bonding capability. If the fiber is longer and more flexible, the fiber network becomes stronger and stiffer.
A preferable mixing ratio of a six-vegetable juice was suggested in this study. The vegetables used for preparation of mixed vegetable juice were carrot(Ct), cabbage(Cg), pear(Pr), cucumber(Cr), celery (Cy) and dongchimi(Di). The characteristics of pH, titratible acidity, reducing sugar, turbidity, solids, color and acceptability were compared to determine the mixing ratio. The vegetables showed a wide ranHe of pH of 3.70-6.01, acidity of 28.92 uv~74.40 nd and reducing sugar of 1.20ft~ 12.69fo. Celery juice showed the higest suspension stability and "b" value and the lowest values in Hunter "L" and "a" values among the 6 vegetable juice. The preferable mixing ratio of two-vegetable juice selected were Ct-Di(1 : 4), Cg-Pr(1 : 3) and Cr-Cy(3 : 1). From the various ratio of the three of biary mixtures of Cg-Pr(1 : 3): Ct-Di(1 : 4): Cr-Sy(3 : 1), two ratio of 5.0 : 2.5 2.5(V-6A) and 6.0 : 2.0 : 2.0(V-6B) were suggested as the most prefered six-vegetable juice. Pear, dongchimi and cucumber were found to be influential on the preference. The pH and titratible acidity of the two juices with different ratios were in the range of 4.92~4.98 and 36.g∼37.4 ml, respectively.
Sand Compaction Piles (SCPs) are constructed by feeding and compacting sand into soft clay ground. Sand piles have been installed with irregular cross-sectional shapes, and mixtures of both sand and clay, which violate the design requirement of circular shape according to the replacement area ratio due to various factors, including side flow pressure. Therefore, design assumptions cannot be satisfied according to the conditions of the ground and construction and the replacement area ratio. Two case histories were collected, examined, and interpreted in order to study the effect of the shape of SCPs. The effects of the distortion of SCP shape and the mixture of sand and clay were studied with the results of large direct shear tests. The design internal friction angle was secured with the irregular cross-sectional sand piles regardless of the replacement area ratio. The design internal friction angle was secured regardless of mixed condition when the mixture of sand and clay was higher than the replacement area ratio of 65%. Therefore, systematic construction management is recommended with a replacement area ratio below 65%.
