The variability and temporal trends of the annual and seasonal minimum and maximum temperature, rainfall, relative humidity, wind speed, sunshine hours, and runoff were analyzed for 5 major rivers in Korea from 1960 to 2010. A simple regression and non-parametric methods (Mann-Kendall test and Sen's estimator) were used in this study. The analysis results show that the minimum temperature ($T_{min}$) had a higher increasing trend than the maximum temperature ($T_{max}$), and the average temperature increased by about $0.03^{\circ}C\;yr.^{-1}$. The relative humidity and wind speed decreased by $0.02%\;yr^{-1}$ and $0.01m\;s^{-1}yr^{-1}$, respectively. With the exception of the Han River basin, the regression analysis and Mann-Kendall and Sen results failed to detect trends for the runoff and rainfall over the study period. Rapid land use changes were linked to the increase in the runoff in the Han River basin. The sensitivity of the evapotranspiration and ultimately the runoff to the meteorological variables was in the order of relative humidity > sunshine duration > wind speed > $T_{max}$ > $T_{min}$. Future studies should investigate the interaction of the variables analyzed herein, and their relative contributions to the runoff trends.

A study was conducted to examine the relationship between abiotic factors and the population of white-fly (Dialeuropora decempuncta) in mulberry field. The study reveals that relationship between abiotic factors and the whitefly population is very much existent like other pests in other agricultural crops. Duration and time of distinct occurrence of whitefly in mulberry is influenced by the abiotic conditions of field. Abiotic parameters of previous month are more important in influencing the intensity of the pest than the current abiotic factors. Not all the abiotic factors are equally important but factors like minimum temperature, fluctuation in temperature during the days minimum relative humidity, fluctuation in relative humidity and rainfall are the major important lactors in influencing the intensity of the pest under consideration.
This paper examined the possibility of NET application for a relative weather stress index in Korea. The characteristic of NET distribution used temperature, relative humidity, wind speed which forecasting at Korean Meteorological Administration were analyzed. Regional critical values of daily maximum NET of stress index for summer resembled the distribution of daily maximum temperature because were not impacted wind and humidity but temperature. Regional critical values of daily minimum NET of stress index for winter distributed variously compared with summer. The highland region and the northern region of Seoul were impacted of low temperature and coastal region which strong wind. The occurrences of stressful days did not vary in summer, but obviously increased in winter after mid-1990s.

The Korea Meteorological Administration has improved medium-range weather forecasts by implementing post-processing methods to minimize numerical model errors. In this study, we employ a statistical correction technique known as the minimum continuous ranked probability score (CRPS) to refine medium-range forecast guidance. This technique quantifies the similarity between the predicted values and the observed cumulative distribution function of the Unified Model Ensemble Prediction System for Global (UM EPSG). We evaluated the performance of the medium-range forecast guidance for surface air temperature and relative humidity, noting significant enhancements in seasonal bias and root mean squared error compared to observations. Notably, compared to the existing the medium-range forecast guidance, temperature forecasts exhibit 17.5% improvement in summer and 21.5% improvement in winter. Humidity forecasts also show 12% improvement in summer and 23% improvement in winter. The results indicate that utilizing the minimum CRPS for medium-range forecast guidance provide more reliable and improved performance than UM EPSG.
Evaporation from surface water bodies is influenced by a number of meteorological parameters. The rate of evaporation is primarily controlled by incoming solar radiation, air and water temperature and wind speed and relative humidity. In the present study, influence of weekly meteorological variables such as air temperature, relative humidity, bright sunshine hours, wind speed, wind velocity, rainfall on rate of evaporation has been examined using 35 years(1971-2005) of meteorological data. Statistical analysis was carried out employing linear regression models. The developed regression models were tested for goodness of fit, multicollinearity along with normality test and constant variance test. These regression models were subsequently validated using the observed and predicted parameter estimates with the meteorological data of the year 2005. Further these models were checked with time order sequence of residual plots to identify the trend of the scatter plot and then new standardized regression models were developed using standardized equations. The highest significant positive correlation was observed between pan evaporation and maximum air temperature. Mean air temperature and wind velocity have highly significant influence on pan evaporation whereas minimum air temperature, relative humidity and wind direction have no such significant influence.
In this study, we analyzed the relationships between weather factors and photosystem II activity (Fv/Fm), as a measure of photochemical efficiency, in three cool-season turfgrasses commonly planted on golf courses in Jeju, South Korea: perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.), Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis L.), and creeping bentgrass (Agrostis palustris Huds.). In all three turfgrasses, Fv/Fm was higher during late summer than during early summer. However, in late summer, Fv/Fm was significantly lower in perennial ryegrass than in the other two species. In early summer, Fv/Fm in perennial ryegrass and Kentucky bluegrass was positively correlated with mean low temperature and extreme minimum temperature, whereas, in late summer, this parameter in Kentucky bluegrass and creeping bentgrass was positively correlated with relative humidity, and in creeping bentgrass was negatively correlated with mean high temperature, mean low temperature, and extreme maximum temperature. These results indicate that raising low temperatures is favorable for perennial ryegrass and Kentucky bluegrass in early summer, whereas, in late summer, the lowering of high temperatures proves to be beneficial for creeping bentgrass, and raising relative humidity is conducive to the growth of Kentucky bluegrass and creeping bentgrass. These findings will contribute to improving the selection and management of turfgrasses on golf courses and sports fields.
The object of this study was invest, igat, ing the failure phenomenon in the contact zone of
rcpnired concrete structures due to the external climate change(hygral transient
condition). This study was carrie out by calculating the non-stationary moisture and
stress distribution in the repaired concrete structures with the cement mortar. In this
analysis, main variables were the overlay thickness (Do=0.5-2.5cm). and the pre-wetting
time(tc= l-5days). and the cxtcrnal 1.~1ative humidity(Ho=50-80%). The results show that
the minimum overlay thickness and the minimum pre-wetting time are necessary to k e ~ p
compressive stresses in the contact zone for a relative humidity.

Mustard aphid, Lipaphis erysimi(Kalt.) plays a key role in determining the productivity of rapeseed-mustard. This pest alone attributes 30-70% losses in yield potential in different agro climatic zones with a mean loss of 54.2% in India. Considering the extent of damage caused by the pest, the present experiment was conducted at Pulses and Oilseeds Research Station during 1992-93 to 1994-95 to study the migratory nature of mustard aphid by trapping them in yellow colour pan tray and their simultaneous growth and development on three different genotypes. The temperature during noon hours is the predominant factor to govern the appearance of alate mustard aphid in rapeseed-mustard field. Stepwise regression analysis revealed that temperature and relative humidity played an important role for its development. The variety RW white flower glossy stem harboured minimum number of aphid in comparison to other two varieties B 9 and T6342. The population reached a peak of 61.28 aphids/10 cm central twig during $6^{th}$ standard week irrespective of varieties.

Hibiscus syriacus were surveyed to study the growing temperature, relative humidity and growing responses shown at different elevations of Kangwon Province, and results of the assessment are summarized as follows 1. Growing responses as represented by leaf length, leaf width, shoot length, number of flowers and flowering duration, were decreased as the elevation increased, while the degree of defoliation was increased. 2. The important factor determining the growing responses to the elevation was the maximum and minimum temperatures, particularly those of July, August, and September. 3. The aphid occurrence on Hibiscus syriacus decreased as the elevation increased. Leading factor determining the population was relative humidity which increased as the elevation increased.
This article involves architecting prototype-fuzzy expert system for designing the nominal cover thickness by means of fuzzy inference for quantitatively representing the environment affecting factor to reinforced concrete in chloride-induced corrosion environment. In this work, nominal cover thickness to reinforcement in concrete was determined by the sum of minimum cover thickness and tolerance to that defined from skill level, constructability and the significance of member. Several variables defining the quality of concrete and environment affecting factor (EAF) including relative humidity, temperature, cyclic wet and dry, and the distance from coast were treated as fuzzy variables. To qualify EAF the environment conditions of cycle degree of wet-dry, relative humidity, distance from coast and temperature were used as input variables. To determine the nominal cover thickness a qualified EAF, concrete grade, and watercement ratio were used. The membership functions of each fuzzy variable were generated from the engineering knowledge and intuition based on some references as well as some international codes of practice.
