Temporal changes of Chl-α, physical and chemical factors were investigated by diurnal observation at 2-hour interval at three fixed stations in the western Chinhae Bay from 12 Aug. to 13 Aug. 1999. Difference of dissolved oxygen between surface and bottom layer was maximum when the thermocline were strong. Organic distribution such as COD was affected by the growth of phytoplankton. Limitting factor was nitrogen, that is, inorganic nitrogen plays a significant role on regulating the algal growth. Surface distribution of dissolved inorganic nitrogen was very low compared to bottom layer by uptake of organisms. Maximum value of Chl-α at station C2 and C11 were observed from subsurface layer, ranges of which exceeded possibility concentration of red tide outbreak, 10 mg/㎥. On the other hand, that of C15 exist at surface layer. In this area, DIN and DIP concentrations increased by input sources such as rainfall and benthic flux before the bloom of phytoplankton. Accumulation of phytoplankton occurred at subsurface layer by the rapid uptake of DIN, especially nitrate ion, when strong thermocline existed as approach to the afternoon, which led to the increase of organics in water column and oxygen deficiency water mass at bottom layer until late at evening. Since then, DIN increases gradually as water temperature decrease to minimum. The quantitative understanding of nitrogen of fluxed to and from the various sources is necessary for environmental management.
A new ion source has been designed, fabricated, and installed at the NBTS (Neutral Beam Test Stand) at the KAERI (Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute) site. The goalis to provide a 100 keV, 2MW deuterium neutral beam injection as an auxiliary heating of KSTAR (Korea Super Tokamak Advanced Research). To cope with power demand, an ion current of 50 A is required considering the beam power loss and neutralization efficiency. The new ion source consists of a magnetic cusp bucket plasma generator and a set of tetrode accelerators with circular copper apertures. The plasma generator for the new ion source has the same design concept as the modified JAEA multi-cusp plasma generator for the KSTAR prototype ion source. The dimensions of the plasma generator are a cross section of
In general, optimization problems are difficult to solve simply. The reason is that the given problem is solved as soon as it is simple, but the more complex it is, the very large number of cases. This study is about the optimization of AI neural network. What we are dealing with here is the relief method for constructing AI network. The main topics deal with non-deterministic issues such as the stability and unstability of the overall network state, cost down and energy down. For this one, we discuss associative memory models, that is, a method in which local minimum memory information does not select fake information. The simulated annealing, this is a method of estimating the direction with the lowest possible value and combining it with the previous one to modify it to a lower value. And nonlinear planning problems, it is a method of checking and correcting the input / output by applying the appropriate gradient descent method to minimize the very large number of objective functions. This research suggests a useful approach to relief method as a theoretical approach to solving optimization problems. Therefore, this research will be a good proposal to apply efficiently when constructing a new AI neural network.
To analyze phytosociological characteristics of the Mt. Namsan nature park, Seoul, vegetation structure of north-east and south-west slopes, competition capability among species, vegetation structures of afforested species were studied with belt-transect and quadrat methods. And management plan of each vegetational zone was proposed by the results of this study and the other previous reports. Numbers of species and individuals of south-west slope were greater than those of north-east slope. But species diversity of northeast showed stability of 1.0, while that of south-west showed instability from 0.8 to 1.3. The floristic dissimilarity coefficient between two slopes showed 70-80% in which species composition between two slopes was much different. Quercus mongolica was a dominant species at north-east slope and Pinus densiflora at south-west slope. Competition capability among major species was resulted in deciduous trees>Robinia pseudoacacia>Populus alba
Current methods for evaluating unsignalized intersections, and estimating level-of-service (LOS) is determined from efficiency-based criteria such as little or no delay to very long delays. At present, similar procedures to evaluate intersections using safety-based criteria do not exist. The improvement of sight distances at intersections is the most effective way of improving intersection safety. However, a set of procedures is necessary to account for the limitations in current methodology. Such an approach would build upon such methods, but also account for: deficiencies in the current deterministic solution for the determination of intersection sight distances; opportunity for an accident and severity of an accident; and cost-effectiveness of attaining various levels of sight distances. In this research, a model that estimates the degree of safety at two-way stop-controlled intersections is described. Only crossing maneuvers are considered in this study because accidents caused by the crossing maneuvers are the dominate type among intersection accidents. Monte Carlo methods are used to estimate the hazard at an intersection as a function of roadway features and traffic conditions. Driver`s minimum gap acceptance in the crossing vehicles and headway distribution on the major road are used in the crossing vehicles and headway distribution on the major road are used in the model to simulate the real intersectional maneuvers. Other random variables addressed in the model are: traffic speeds; preception-reaction times of both drivers in the crossing vehicles and drivers in oncoming vehicles on the major road; and vehicles on the major roads. The developed model produces the total number of conflicts per year per vehicle and total potential kinetic energy per year per vehicle dissipated during conflicts as measurements of safety at intersections. Based on the results from the developed simulation model, desirable sight distances for various speeds were determined as 350 feet, 450 feet and 550 feet for 40 mph, 50 mph and 60 mph prevailing speed on the major road, respectively. These values are seven to eight percent less than those values recommended by AASHTO. A safety based level-of-service (LOS) is also developed using the results of the simulation model. When the total number of conflicts per vehicle is less than 0.05 at an intersection, the LOS of the intersection is `A' and when the total number of conflicts per vehicle is larger than 0.25 at an intersection, the LOS is `F'. Similarly, when the total hazard per vehicle is less than 350, 000 1b-ft2/sec2, the LOS is `F'. Once evaluation of the current safety at the intersection is complete, a sensitivity analysis can be done by changing one or more input parameters. This will estimate the benefit in terms of time and budget of hazard reduction based upon improving geometric and traffic characteristics at the intersection. This method will also enable traffic engineers in local governments to generate a priority list of intersection improvement projects.
This Study focused on the development of SMPS (Switching Mode Power Supply) to supply the constant votage and current nevertheless LED fluorescent Light generated the electric noise (with Harmonics) and Inrush current at instant time of turn-on and off. Recently, according to the Green policy in government, the LED fluorescent Lighter showed the rapidly increasing tend as indoor and outdoor Lighter. But, because of costs, LED fluorescent Light not considered and neglected the following items; power factor, efficiency, Harmonics and Inrush current. So, we are developed the SMPS about 3 key issues as follows: 1st, power factor and efficiency is 85%. 2nd, the switching noisy by harmonic is minimized. 3rd, the Inrush current at turn on and off time is reduced the minimum 0.3 A after
In recent years, concern has been raised about the technique of controlling electrical breakdown by using laser in many fields. Especially, laser has attracted much attention in the Electro-Discharge Machining(EDM) because of its many rrents. 1berefore, this research has been perfonred to obtain fundarrental data for the discharge guide technology by a pulsed Nd:YAG laser which can be awJied to discharge processing machining. 1be experilnnts of laser-guided de discharge have been carried out at low air pressure ranging from 0.2 to 20 torr. The minimum laser-guided de discharge voltage
The South Korean government plans for a 37 % reduction in CO2 emissions against business as usual by 2030. Subsequently, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport declared a 26.9 % reduction target in greenhouse gas emissions from buildings by 2020 and established the Green Standard for Energy and Environmental Design (G-SEED) to help improve the environmental performance of buildings. Construction companies often work with consulting firms to prepare for G-SEED certification. In the process, owing to inefficient data sharing and work connections, it is difficult to achieve economic efficiency and obtain certification. The objective of this study was to develop an economic model to assist contractors in achieving the required G-SEED scores for materials and resources. To do this, we automated the process for material comparison and selection on the basis of an analysis of actual consulting data, and developed a model that selects material alternatives that can meet the required scores at a minimum cost. Information on materials is input by applying a genetic algorithm to the optimization of alternatives. When the model was applied to actual data, the construction cost could be lowered by 79.3 % compared with existing methods. The economical material selection model is expected to not only reduce construction costs for owners desiring G-SEED certification but also shorten the project design time.
The wall shear stress in the vicinity of end-to end anastomoses under steady flow conditions was measured using a flush-mounted hot-film anemometer(FMHFA) probe. The experimental measurements were in good agreement with numerical results except in flow with low Reynolds numbers. The wall shear stress increased proximal to the anastomosis in flow from the Penrose tubing (simulating an artery) to the PTFE: graft. In flow from the PTFE graft to the Penrose tubing, low wall shear stress was observed distal to the anastomosis. Abnormal distributions of wall shear stress in the vicinity of the anastomosis, resulting from the compliance mismatch between the graft and the host artery, might be an important factor of ANFH formation and the graft failure. The present study suggests a correlation between regions of the low wall shear stress and the development of anastomotic neointimal fibrous hyperplasia(ANPH) in end-to-end anastomoses. 30523 T00401030523 ^x Air pressure decay(APD) rate and ultrafiltration rate(UFR) tests were performed on new and saline rinsed dialyzers as well as those roused in patients several times. C-DAK 4000 (Cordis Dow) and CF IS-11 (Baxter Travenol) reused dialyzers obtained from the dialysis clinic were used in the present study. The new dialyzers exhibited a relatively flat APD, whereas saline rinsed and reused dialyzers showed considerable amount of decay. C-DAH dialyzers had a larger APD(11.70
