The techniques of Ottchil Painting of our country is established by splendid and unique for about 1,600 years revolved around Myochilchaehoi technique and Myoyuchaehoi technique started at Unified Shill a Daynasty and through Koryo, Joseon Dynasty, Modern times and Contemporary. Also, such this Ottchil Painting form of red in the inside and black in the outside, which is wood based, the rest is bamboo sheath and framework from Geonchil based and the figurative characteristics presented the traditional Patterns of Lotus, Phoenix, arabesque, bird, animal, cloud, marble and letter with red Ottchil, yellow Ottchil, or five colors Ottchil.
This study deals with the distribution of the clay minerals separated from clay fractions of ranch pastures in Korea and their chemical and mineralogical properties. Crystalline phases of the clay minerals were identified by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern and FT-IR spectra, and their relative chemical compositions were also analyzed by X-ray flourescence spectrometry (XRF). Primary minerals consisted mainly of quartz and mica and chlorite and kaolinite along with a trace of swelling micas were identified as secondary clay minerals. However, the relative content of these clay minerals was different with the locations, which led to significant effects on physical and chemical properties of soils like inorganic elemental composition. In particular, $SiO_2$ content was higher in Gochang ranch pasture than in other ranch pasture. Infrared (IR) spectra did not indicate any significant differences in organic functional groups among the locations. This study clearly showed that ranch pastures had different relative content of clay minerals and chemical properties depending on the location and consequently that those properties are worthy to be taken into account for soil amendment.

Distribution of clay minerals separated from clay fraction of corn fields in Korea has been investigated along with their characterization. Crystalline phases of the clay minerals were identified by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern, and their relative chemical compositions were analyzed by X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF). The soils were found to have pH 6.4, organic matter $37.2g\;kg^{-1}$, available $P_2O_5$$599mg\;kg^{-1}$, respectively, and exchangeable K, Ca and Mg were 1.2, 7.3 and $1.8cmol_c\;kg^{-1}$, respectively. Major primary minerals consisted mainly of quartz and mica, and kaolinite and chlorite were identified as major secondary clay minerals. For most of soils, mica phase was identified to be muscovite rather than biotite. The average contents of $SiO_2$, $Al_2O_3$ and $Fe_2O_3$ were 43.7, 23.6 and 8.8%, respectively, although they were different with the locations.
Heat-induced surimi gels were prepared using various concentration of ATC as a additives and calcium agent. Regardless of various concentration of ATC, there were no difference the moisture $(80.4-81.2\%)\;and\;crude\;ash\;(1.4-1.\5%)$ contents. The pH of heat-induced surimi gels were decreased 7.16 to 7.04 depend on increasing ATC concentration. The whiteness, breaking force and gel strength of $0.09\%$surimi gel were improved significantly difference (p<0.05). Sensory evaluation on texture and whiteness were also similar to determination by color and texture meters. In mineral content of heat-induced surimi gel calcium content was increased 26 to 54 mg/100g depend on increasing ATC concentration, while phosphorus content was not change. The optimal concentration of ATC for preparation of high quality heat-induced surimi gel was $0.09\%$. The shelf-life of heat-induced surimi gel did not extend by addition of $0.09\%$ ATC.
The detailed crystal chemistry of ilmenite from the Hadong massif was studied by the EPMA, M ssbauer spectroscopy, and Rietveld structural refinement using X-ray powder diffraction data. The ilmenite-bearing anorthosite shows complicated mineral assemblage which consists of plagioclase, clinopyroxene, hornblende, biotite, chlorite, apatite, allanite, and zircon. Anorthite is andesine in composition (Ab 28-57), and clinopyroxene drops in ferro-hypersthene (Fs 62-70). Ilmenite is trigonal symmetry with R space group, whose structure shows the alternation of Fe2+ (M1 site) octahedral layer and Ti (M2 site) layer along c axis. M ssbauer spectroscopy indicates that there are three doubles which assigned to couple of Fe2+($\delta$=0.812, 0.890mm/sec) and one Fe3+($\delta$=0.303mm/sec) in octahedral sites. Their Fe3+/$\Sigma$Fe is 0.065 and chemical formula is established as Fe2+0.94Fe3+0.07Ti0.97O3 using both EPMA and M ssbauer analysis. Rietveld structural refinement reveals that site occupancies of Fe in M1 and Ti in M2 are 91.2% and 89.4%, respectively. This implies that Ti and Fe2+ are alternatively occupy M1 and M2 sites. In addition, smaller M2 site is more preferable to Fe3+ occupancy over M1.
Natural dyes generally fan into two categories; organic dyes coming from animals and plants and inorganic dyes obtained from various minerals such as bengala, loess, ultramarine, prussian blue and etc. The main components of volcanic ash is clay mineral such as kaolinite, illite, quartz. Clay minerals Composing volcanic ash are kaolinite[$Al_4Si_4O_{10}{(OH)_{8}}$], illite[$K_{X}Al_2(Si,\;Al)_4O_{10}{(OH)}_2$], quartz[$SiO_2$], homblende[$Na_{0-1}\;Ca_2{(Mg,\;Fe,\;Al)}_5{(Si,\;Al)}_{8}O_{22}{(OH)}_2$]and etc. And the redish color mainly comes from iron oxide. In this paper, two different classes of dyeing process were tested; dyeing with volcanic ash only and cationic agent pre-treatment followed by dyeing with volcanic ash. The compositions of the volcanic ash powder and the volcanic ash deposited on the cotton knitted fabrics identified by energy dispersive spectrometer and XRD analysis. The major chemical components of volcanic ash deposited on the cotton knitted fabrics were confirmed to be the saicon oxide, iron oxide, and aluminum oxide and etc. According to the analysis by XRD and EDS-SEM, kaolinite, illite and quartz were also identified.

There are about 41% (by weight) of scrap tires were pulverized to produce rubber powder and granules in the tire recycling industry of Taiwan. However, the reuse of the by-products, steel and fiber, of the scrap tires still needs to be improved. It is difficult to remove the remaining rubber on the surface of steel or fiber. This problem reduce the availability for further reuse of steel and fiber. In addition to the improvement of magnetic, gravity separation techniques or carbonization process, using cryogenic shredding process to separate rubber and fiber (or steel) had been used as another alternative. Cryogenic shredding process for scrap tires showed many advantages, the objective of this paper is to explore the mechanisms for the cryogenic shredding process of scrap tires. Cryo-SEM is used to investigate the topographic information, in-situ, from room temperature to -195$^{\circ}C$ . One square inch shredded tire chips are prepared for SEM study. The percentage of the shrinkage of rubber is also estimated, ca. 6.7%. Mechanisms of cryogenic shredding effects on the tire chips are discussed. The proper practice of cryogenic shredding process far scrap tires is also suggested.

Low density ceramic supporter was prepared by using fly ash as a starting material for the application to the biological aerated filter (BAF) system, and the effect of additives and sintering atmosphere on the apparent and bulk density of the carrier was examined. Borax, Na$_2$O and glass powders were added to produce liquid phase. The density of the supporter decreased as the amount of borax increased. The bulk density of 0.79 g/㎤ and the apparent density of 1.10 g/㎤ were obtained when the fly ash with 15% of borax was sintered at 116$0^{\circ}C$ for 15 minutes. The density also decreased as the plate glass powders past through 22${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ size were mixed. When the fly ash with 12% of grass powder was sintered at 128$0^{\circ}C$ for 10 minutes, the bulk and apparent density were 0.90g/㎤ and 1.00 g/㎤, respectively. Apparent density of 1.6~1.8g/㎤ was obtained when the fly ash was sintered at 120$0^{\circ}C$ in a weak reducing atmosphere. By maintaining the reducing atmosphere and sintering at a high heating rate, the liquid phase was farmed from the reduced composition of fly ash. This resulted in the formation of closed pores that enabled the low apparent density.
In this article, poly methyl triethoxy silane was compounded with an inorganic waterproof admixture at a certain ratio to improve the performance of gypsum products; a new type of high-efficiency compound water-proofing additive was also investigated. Furthermore, the waterproof mechanism and the various properties on the hardened gypsum plaster were investigated in detail by XRD and SEM. The results show that the intenerate coefficient of gypsum plaster increased to more than 0.9; the water absorbing rate decreased to less than 10 %. Both the bending strength and the compressive strength of gypsum plaster increased by various degrees. The intenerate coefficient reached a maximum value of 0.73 and the strength of the samples showed almost no change when 5% cement alone was added. In this new type of the high-efficiency compound with waterproof additive, the optimal technological parameters for formulas were obtained to be: 5% cement, 18 % mineral powder, and 0.8% poly methyl triethoxy silane, to compound gypsum plaster. Meanwhile, the production of high performance gypsum as a building material has become possible.
