The U.K. during the war on terrorism, the number of military serviceable resources decreased and the volunteer recruitment rate decreased due to the decline in the birth rate, but faced a situation in which complex security threats from IS and Russia gradually increased. As one of the measures to overcome these challenges, the British military promoted a policy to break down existing social conservatism and assign female personnel to close combat positions. The British military formed a consensus within the military through discovery of female military use cases, longitudinal studies, and combat experiments, and then conducted strategic communication to form a social consensus and collect public opinions. In addition, to improve the reliability of the policy, established a combat fitness evaluation system that any combatant who performs close combat should pass. In Korea, amid accelerating competition for hegemony between the U.S. and China, security threats are increasing due to a decrease in military serviceable resources caused by population cliffs. Therefore, the case of the British military will give us considerable implications while also helping to provide the direction necessary for establishing future women's workforce policies.

This study focused on how to supplement and develop military spiritual education in response to promotion of peace and prosperity and Change of Security Environment on the Korean Peninsula. In order to succeed in the peace and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula policy, Strengthening the military spiritual education is necessary. This study was analyzed through the survey and the results are as follows: First, the awareness level of military spiritual education is more than 68%. Second, the satisfaction level of education has been quit motivated, but, the respondents demands various methods of eduction. Third, the current mental power scores showed no significant difference for environmental change. In addition, based on the results of the research, the problem of military spiritual education is as follows. It is not enough to secure the identity that can firmly support the era of peace and prosperity on the Korean peninsula. Poor budget support might hinder improving poor education facilities and outdated equipment. Furthermore, there is a lack of research on future-oriented educational system in support of traditional education methods of repetition-type repeated education and unification. Therefore, we deducted the following development strategies for the military spiritual education in this paper. First, it is necessary to strengthen the military spiritual education to support the era of peace and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula. Second, for enhancing educational environments, the educational facilities and equipments should be improved by understanding the characteristics of the education target. Third, the integrated management of military research institutes specialized in military spiritual education should be pursued as a system development for ensuring the continuous effect of education. In conclusion, continuous attention and research are needed to establish national perspective and national security perspective, raise the military spirit and utilize various education development programs in order to develop efficient military spiritual education in the future.

In this paper, we consider an economic order quantity(EOQ) and an optimal discount pricing policy for the monopsony related to the weapon system acquisition. In the monopsony case, a buyer wishes to maximize the profit. However, a seller wants to minimize the total inventory related cost since a buyer can determine the purchase price for the product. We develop a generalized version of EOQ model for the monopsony, including one seller-one buyer model and two seller-one buyer model. A model of buyer reaction to any given pricing scheme is developed to show that there exits a unified pricing policy which motivates the buyer to increase its ordering quantity per order, thereby reducing the joint(buyer and seller) ordering and holding costs in the system.

Consider a failure model for a stochastic system. A shock is any perturbation to the system which causes a random amount of damage to the system. Any of the shocks can cause the system to fail at shock times. The amount of damage at each shock is a function of the sum of the magnitudes of damage caused from all previous shocks. The times between shocks form a sequence of independent and identically distributed random variables. The system must be replaced upon failure at some cost but it also can be replaced before failure at a lower cost. The long term expected cost per unit time criterion is used. Structural relationships of the optimal replacement policy under the appropriate regularity conditions will be developed. And these relationships will provide theoretical background for the algorithm development.

After successful nuclear tests Pakistan launched a more severe surprise attack toward India than before. It is highly possible that North Korea will adopt this Pakistan military strategy if it is armed with nuclear weapons. The North Korean forces armed, with nuclear bombs could make double its war capability through strengthening aggressive force structure and come into effect on blocking reinforcement of the US forces at the initial phase of war time. Therefore we may regard that Pyongyang's nuclear arming is a major one of various factors which increase possibility of waging a conventional warfare or a nuclear war. North Korea's high self-confidence after nuclear arming will heighten tension on the Korean Peninsula via aggressive military threat or terror toward South Korea, and endeavor to accomplish its political purpose via low-intensity conflicts. For instance, nuclear arming of the Pyongyang regime enforces the North Korean forces to invade the Northern Limit Line(NLL), provoke naval battles at the West Sea, and occupy one or two among the Five Islands at the West Sea. In that case, the South Korean forces will be faced with a serious dilemma. In order to recapture the islands, Seoul should be ready for escalating a war. However it is hard to imagine that South Korea fights with North Korea armed with nuclear weapons. This paper concludes that the Pyongyang regime after nuclear arming strongly tends to occupy superiority of military strategy and wage military provocations on the Korean Peninsula.

In an effort to enhance the independence of and expertise in military aircraft accident investigation, a permanent accident investigation board should be established. Establishing permanent accident investigation board would render the military accident investigation more reliable and would increase its public esteem. Because there is no provision governing the responsibilities of the investigation and cooperation between civil and military authority in case that both civil and military aircraft are involved, it is necessary to fill this gap by enacting appropriate laws. In case of civil aircraft accident investigation involving a military issue, it would be better to allow military authority to be involved in the investigation. For the betterment of investigation, it is also necessary to provide a field investigator an authority to directly collect relevant information. Since the sole purpose of accident investigation is to prevent the recurrence of aircraft accidents, the scope of information disclosure should be limited and the investigation report shall be used for neither criminal procedure nor disciplinary procedure so that the objectivity of the investigation should be ensured.

This study was conducted to investigate the factors affecting on organizational commitment of military hospital nursing officers. For the purpose of this study, the self-administerd questionnaire survey was done with 440 military hospital nursing officers during february, 2001. The major results of the study were summarized as follows: By path analysis using LISREL 7.0, variables such as met expectations, work involvement, pay, work definiteness, positive affectivity, family support, peer support, promotion opportunity, expectations before entering a military hospital had significant positive effect on Job satisfaction in order of size, however, vertical conflict and horizontal conflict had significant negative effect in order of size. Variables such as job satisfaction, met expectations, promotion opportunity, positive affectivity, pay had significant positive direct effect on organizational commitment in order of size, however, job routinization, job opportunity had significant negative direct effect in order of size. It was found that the following variables, listed m order of size, had significant total effects on organizational commitment: job satisfaction, met expectations, positive affectivity, promotion opportunity, pay, vertical conflict, job routinization, family support, work involvement, work definiteness, job opportunity. In considering above findings, the program or plan for job satisfaction promotion, met expectations, fair promotion opportunity, adequate pay, work definiteness, solving conflict, positive affectivity promotion would be implemented to increase organizational commitment of military hospital nursing officers.

In order for the military organization to be reborn as a high-tech science and technology strong force, science and technology that can be applied to the military is identified at the rapid development of science and technology, This should be quickly applied to military organizations, which is a growing consensus that Defense R&D planning system centered on rioters is needed to quickly acquire advanced weapons systems. In this respect, in order to successfully achieve the current government's defense policy, the high-tech weapons system necessary for national defense is required quicklyIt is necessary to closely examine defense planning, systems, organizations, and functions to develop into a high-tech science and technology military to link from raising to acquiring, and to reorganize the power enhancement and operation system. Therefore, this study proposes a high-efficiency defense operation system that combines advanced science and technology by Korean military organizations through "Defense Innovation 4.0", and we hope that follow-up research will be conducted following this study.

This thesis is to make an appropriate national defense policy of Republic of Korea through studying the Hegemony Strategy of United States. I searched the theory of hegemony. The hegemony was differently defined by the point of time and region. The strong power nations with the hegemony have been making efforts to maintain their hegemony everytime. I have conclusion that the presence of hegemony once emerged, it brought regional stability in place whether it is coercive or beneficial. The stability and instability of international order IS not exclusively dependent on hegemony. Even if the safety of hegemony cannot guarantee absolute stability of international order, there IS on doubt that the hegemony has enormous impact on that. According to the hegemonic theory, the history of mankind equals to the history of rising and falling hegemony. The international order was changed as the hegemony changes. The United States has been making efforts to maintain her global hegemony during the post cold-war era as well. Taking all these into consideration, relevant military strategy direction able to pursue national interest is that to make up for the relative weakness in the strategic environment. South Korea have to prepare security policy response as following. First, South Korea should build the military force equipped with advanced weapons in military technology sector and solidify military diplomatic relation able to form cooperative relation in wartime. Second, South Korea should make solid Alliance of Korea and U.S. Third, develop and maintain multilateral security cooperation of East Asia. Forth, we could realize that there are means that can neutralize opponent's strong point by seeking one or two and more asymmetry in the aspect of strategy, tactics, and means through asymmetric strategy. Than the military force of South Korea should develop into a force that is able to overcome to the traditional North Korea's threat and new type of conflicts. And the force should have sufficient strength and be deployed to effectively defend the Korean Peninsula. So, we need to establish a denial and defense system against any hostile neighboring country. Therefore, ROK military forces preparing for the future should try to construct a future military power to gradually establish enough strength for self-defense to prepare for a uncertain security environment and when the Korean Peninsula is unified in a future.

Even though the historical changes of the Cold War, they does not release the Cold War structure in Korean peninsula. And continues North Korea's provocations against South Korea. A factor of instability in Northeast Asia is the causing catastrophic inter-Korean relations and North Korea's Yeonpyeong shelling and provocation of the Cheonan battleship sinking by an explosion. These behaviors have been committed by among the North Korea military. North Korea's provocations made by a complex decision-making system in the United States and North Korea and South Korea. North Korea's aggressive military actions are conducted under the North Korean political system of strategies unification of the Korean peninsula. It has a duality of continuity and change, depending on the situation of a foreign policy in North Korea. If North Korea want maintain structure of their country, they should change the national policy and strategy, tactics and the military action type. North Korea should be a member of international community. As one of the country in the world, North Korea create economic power, nuclear tensions break, and participate in the international community for the peace.
