In Korea, the driving system restriction criteria is strictly applied(gross weight 400kN, axial load 100kN). Especially after the Seoungsu Bridge accident, safety factor has been strictly applied. The Safety factor is applied to the cumulative results for each steps like design, construction, maintenance of the Bridge. Because of it, the bridge is undervalued compared to its capacity. So, this generates loss for both private and military sector(eg. logistical delays, structural damage, etc.). But analyzing data from many existing researches we have confirmed that the military heavy vehicle may pass through the first class bridges. In consequence, this study have focused on determining whether HETS vehicles can pass over the first class bridge, without safety issues, using MIDAS structural analysis program. The results have confirmed that the military heavy vehicle may pass over the bridge.

In this paper, safety evaluation method simulating battlefield environment was studied to verify military operability of commercial lithium secondary battery. Based on the MIL-STD-2105D and STANAG standards, safety tests of lithium secondary battery module were conducted, such as bullet impact, fragment impact, fast cook-off and slow cook-off. All results satisfied the safety evaluation criteria, founded on military standard. It suggests that the lithium secondary module has high potential to be applied in a military power source. The safety evaluation methods developed in this paper can be valuable to propose the new military standards for commercial lithium secondary batteries.

Development of science technology, computer network and software technology has not only changed various areas of the society, but also brought rapid change in the condition and the way of performing war. Historical lessons learned from the war in Iraq tells that military capabilities corresponding to the new paradigms of war needs to be assured in order to preserve national interest and take victory in future warfare. Thus, the performance in the latest war in Iraq, the estimated performance in future war and the performance of war in the Korean Peninsula has been put together and analyzed to indicate the direction our force should be built and the structure to be improved. Under all circumstances and threats the military must defend our nation and territory. When war breaks out the military must perform it's basic duty to end war by decisive operations. As the saying is "To preserve peace, prepare for war," continuous increase of military strength and improvement of military structure corresponding to the change of national security environment and weapon system is necessary.

This paper deals with the application of commercial mobile communication system for improvement of the military mobile wireless communication systems. Currently, commercial mobile communication systems are rapidly growing from first and second Generation system to third and forth Generation system, which can provide multimedia service of high speed and high capacity(e.g., IMT-2000). If we adapt these emerging commercial technology for the military communication, the military will have many benefits in terms of cost saving, early operational deployment and performance. And it is possible to support the communication necessary in the future warfield operational environment. Therefore, we analyzed differences between commercial systems and military systems, and adaptability in terms of security, survivability and performance. Impatience characteristics are an important factor to be considered in the defense field, which is sensitive to time, but there are not many cases applied. In addition, due to the difficulty of analysis that must consider various probabilistic factors (breakdown/maintenance distribution, impatience characteristics, etc.), military decision makers consider only simple data (number of occurrences per year, maintenance time, etc.) Therefore, in this study, a model capable of analyzing the performance of the emergency maintenance system for determining the appropriate size and organization of military and civilian maintenance personnel was presented in consideration of impatience characteristics and probabilistic factors. And through numerical analysis, the appropriate size of the military and civilian emergency maintenance teams was analyzed. This study is significant in that it can improve readiness of operational power and prevent waste of defense budget through efficient operation of the military's emergency maintenance system.

The goal of the military medicine is not as same as that of the civil medical practice, and consequently the characteristics of military biomedical researches have their own uniqueness. In front of the prerogative of national defense, some of the human rights ordinarily ensured in normal researches with human subjects are not to be fully guaranteed. The hierarchic system of the military would complicate the issue when the soldiers are enrolled as human subject for the research. Some researches could be classified as a military secret, therefore, the confidentiality issues need to be well addressed. Institutional Review Board and review procedure should be modified for the military purposes. So, it is necessary to establish the appropriate regulatory system for the military biomedical researches with human subject to manage the complicated issues involved in them.

IT Service Management (ITSM) achieves consolidated management for the IT services supporting the acquisition system, and no outside connections can be established with such ITSM. Issues pertaining to the D2B can be addressed to System Q&A or a Call Center for problem-solving. In other words, internal staff can take the necessary measures for problems by directly connecting with ITSM. Currently, diverse innovative technologies are being used in electronics and ubiquitous computing environments. This allows us to create a better world by providing the backbone for remarkable development in our human society in the fields of electronics, devices, computer science, and engineering. Following the expansion of IT services in the military acquisition sector such as Defense Electronic Procurement, military export/import support system, etc., customers' dependence on IT for conducting business with the military or related companies is increasing, including the military's dependence on the same technology for services to the public. Nonetheless, issues pertaining to the simplified/integrated management of complex IT service management systems, including slow system recovery, lack of integrated customer service window, and insufficient information sharing, have become the priority problems that IT managers are required to solve. Therefore, this study conducted research on the integrated management of IT services provided by Korea's national defense acquisition system, which was developed based on the existing system IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v2, and investigated the level of satisfaction with services with focus on ensuring that it can be used for understanding the necessity of the system and its advancement in the future.

In this study, we proposed that Military Qualification System(MQS) should be reshaped for enhancement of the professional and efficient management of human resource in the military sector. It should be also prepared that Military Qualification Law and Organization to operate the MQS. By doing that, we can expect several benefits. Firstly, military professionalism is systemically managed and enhanced, secondly military qualification for military personnel will be innovatively developed, thirdly supplement of skilled personnel are secured with stabilities in the military sectors, and finally outplacement of retired personnel are also qualified with military career and training.

The purposes of this study were to understand the military look in contemporary fashion by analyzing it based on the theory of Baudrillard, who offered explanations about images with the phenomenon of simulation, and provide basic data for the use of images in fashion by presenting new perspectives of images in fashion. The period from ancient times to the Renaissance does not belong to any of the three orders in Baudrillard's simulacra. In other words, there was no simulacrum created in the period according to his image changes. In the military look, however, the simulation phenomenon is different from his argument. To be specific, there is a "hyperreal" one as well as the simulacrum of "generalized image" as the simulacrum of a "transmuted image." It is because fashion exists only when it is worn widely by the imitations of others and in an inseparable relationship with imitation. In fashion, simulacra can always be found, which is one of the special qualities of fashion.

The purpose of this study is to improve the private utilization of military welfare facilities that are aging or underutilized in urban areas. It also aims to develop ways to strengthen cooperative win-win strategies between the military and local communities. The use of military welfare facilities by the private sector refers to activities where the private sector generates additional benefits or added value by allowing the use of these facilities, including both private use and improvements to facilities or development of land through private sector involvement. From the perspective of the city and the locals, military welfare facilities are perceived as resident-friendly and excellent urban resources that can promote reciprocal satisfaction between the military and local communities. From the perspective of the military, military welfare facilities are important for enhancing the welfare of military personnel. However, they often face limitations in providing various welfare services due to the aging of facilities and limited operations with a single purpose. The improvement of private utilization of military welfare facilities will bring diverse reciprocal benefits to the military, the city, and the locals. Above all, improving the private utilization of military welfare facilities can help the military and local communities jointly address diverse urban issues. To establish cooperative governance and find flexible and diverse development strategies that can promote the welfare of the military and enhance the quality of life for the locals, it is important that both the military and local communities make continuous efforts.
