In this paper, we designed the microstrip patch antenna with L-shaped aperture, which greatly enhances its bandwidth. We optimized to get a maximum bandwidth. The microstrip patch antenna with L-shaped aperture has the widest bandwidth of the conventional aperture coupled microstrip patch antenna. This antenna also has the low-cross polarization level. The effects of changing several key design parameters of the antenna are investigated. We calculated the VSWR, input impedance, and radiation pattern.

In this paper, we proposed a beam tilting microstrip patch array antenna for the reception of satellite signals by using low cost copper etched polyester films and foams. The configuration and coupling mechanism of the proposed antenna are similar to the dipole Yagi-Uda antenna. It is composed of 3 layers of polyester films and three layers of foam. In order to prevent unwanted radiation and coupling loss by microstrip feeding networks and parasitic patches, a stacked layer with rectangular slots above the driver patch array is inserted. The 16${\times}$8 element microstrip Patch way antenna is Presented by experimental results. Its beam patterns are affected by many parameters such as sizes of the patches, gap between the patches. characteristics of the substrates, feeding method, etc. Owing to its complexities of various design parameters, both simulation and experiment were performed. The fabricated antenna received DBS signal from KOREASAT 3 by doing nothing but adjusting azimuth direction.

This paper presents the possibility of the satellite broadcasting reception as a means of microstrip antenna of the planar structure. The paper discusses the design of the optimal KOREASAT DBS(Direct Broadcasting Satellite) reception microstrip antenna. Experimental results for ta 16*16 array antenna of size 35*35cm are also described. Itsgain is over 28dB in the frequency range of 11.7~12.0GHz DBS band. The measured NHK broadcasting C/N ratio of 16816 array antenna is over 10dB in Pusan. It is expected that good picture quality of C/N .GEQ. 12dB can be obtained for domestic use if this microstrip antenna is used in KOREASAT broadcasting receiving system.

In this paper, 5Ghz microstrip patch antenna for wireless LAN is designed, fabricated, and measured. To obtain wide bandwidth and high gain, antenna parameters such as patch size(W, L), the length of the slot(C), and the slot width(D) are simulated by HFSS(High Frequency Structure Simulator). From these parameters optimized, the microstrip patch antenna is fabricated using FR-4 substrate. The measured results of the antenna are as follows: The center frequency of 5.2 GHz, insertion loss of -41.17dB, bandwidth of 258MHz, and VWSR of 1.1.
In this paper, a microstrip Patch antenna with the T-shaped slits, which are employed to reduce the patch size. is proposed for GPS In order to analyze characteristics of the antennas are defined green function of the moment method. The microstrip Patch antenna and microstrip Patch with the T-shaped slits are fabricated. The numerical result of return loss and -10d13 bandwidth are compared with measured results.

In this paper, a microstrip aperture-patch antenna and a microstrip ring antenna, which have single microstrip line feeding systems for the circular polarization, are designed, and experimental results are presented at X-band. The microstrip aperture-patch antenna is characterized by its wide operating frequency range, and the microstrip ring antenna is suitable for a basic radiator in the large array antenna due to its small size. Several design parameters for these antennas are considered and analyzed to improve antenna characteristics such as VSWR bandwidth and axial ratio. Initially, the sizes of the aperture and ring radiator are determined on a basis of the cavity model, then shapes of the patch within the aperture and the inner stub of the ring are optimized using Ensemble software. Measurement results show that the aperture-patch antenna has 25% of VSWR bandwidth and 1.2dB of axial ratio at the boresight, and the ring antenna has 6.7% of VSWR bandwidth and 1.6dB of axial ratio at the boresight.

There are many researches to increase bandwidth of the microstrip patch antenna for wireless LAN. In spite of broad bandwidth, Bow-Tie microstrip patch antenna, broadband microstrip patch antenna, has disadvantages that are low gain and big size. In this paper, stacked Bow-Tie microstrip patch antenna for wireless LAN is designed in 5.725∼5.825㎓ band. This antenna has characteristics that are broadband bandwidth, high gain and small size compared with microstrip patch antenna. In simulated results, the return loss is -34.2㏈ at 5.78㎓ and bandwidth is 11.345% for VSWR 2:1 and 7.75% for VSWR 1.5:1. In measured results, the return loss is -38.45㏈ at 5.78㎓ and bandwidth is 13% for VSWR 2:1 and 5.6% for VSWR 1.5:1. It has 59.37$^{\circ}$-3㏈ beam width and 6.5㏈ gain.

A cavity-backed microstrip patch antenna for a monopulse radar system is designed and fabricated. Also, this antenna is shown to be suitable for the system by analyzing the measured results. Since the azimuthal beamwidth required by this system is quite broad compared to that of a usual microstrip antenna, the width of a microstrip patch is reduced considerably. The decrease of an antenna bandwidth due to the reduced patch width is compensated by increasing the effective substrate thickness. A detection range and a detection probability is calculated from the measured gain at a given angle, and this result shows that the fabricated antenna can be applied well to this monopulse radar system.

This paper deals with the design of a microstrip line feed toppled T shaped microstrip patch antenna that gives dualband characteristics at 4 GHz and 6.73 GHz respectively. The simulation of proposed antenna geometry has been performed using method of moment based IE3D simulation software. A radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) is used for the estimation of bandwidth for dualband at 4 GHz and 6.73 GHz respectively. In RBFNN model, antenna parameters such as dielectric constant, height of substrate, and width are used as input and bandwidth of first and second band is considered as output of the network. To validate the RBFNN output, an antenna has been physically fabricated on glass epoxy substrate. The fabricated antenna can be utilized in S and C bands applications. RBFNN results are found in close agreement with simulated and experimental results.

The present paper presents an array antenna of a microstrip patch for 5G applications. Four rectangular microstrip patch elements are arranged in parallel and series to form an array antenna. Two insets are made on both sides of each patch element to achieve a wide frequency bandwidth of 23.97-31.60 GHz. To attain a high gain and wider bandwidth, the microstrip patch antenna is fed using series and corporate feeding networks. Further, three director elements on top of the top-most patch elements, and one reflector element at the open end of each patch element, are added. The addition of the Yagi elements improved the overall gain and acquired a higher radiation efficiency throughout the operating frequency bandwidth, with the array antenna achieving a maximum peak gain of 8.7 dB. The proposed antenna is built on a low-loss and low-cost substrate of FR4-eproxy. The proposed antenna design with a simple structure is suitable for Internet of Things and 5G applications.
