두 입자의 접촉면에서의 손상역학 해석 (Mechanics of Micro-Damage at Contact portion of Two Grains)

  • 응력하에서 암석 및 암반의 변형특성의 원인이되는 손상발달에 대한 이해는 지질공학 및 토목공학에 있어서 매우 중요하다. 지금까지의 연구에서 본면 실험전과 후의 관찰로서 응력하의 미소손상발달에 대한 연구는 아직 미미한 실절이다. 그러므로 응력하에서 손상과 정을 직접 관찰하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 응력하 중립질 화강암의 미소손상에 대한 보다 정확한 이해를 위해 미소손상집중, 발생 및 진전등에 석영과 장석의 접촉면에서 새로이 개발한 실험장치에의해 상세히 관찰되었다. 그 결과 두입자의 elastic mismatch 와 Hertzian fracture mechanice에 의해 잘 설명된다.

레이저를 이용한 미세에칭에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Argon Laser Assisted Thermochemical Micro Etching)

  • The application of laser direct etching has been discussed, and believed that the process is a very powerful method for micro machining. This study is focused on the micro patterning technology using laser direct etching process with no chemical damage of the material surface. A new introduced concept of energy synergy effect for surface micro machining is the combination of chemically ion reaction and laser thermal process. The etchant can't etch the material in room temperature, and used Ar laser has not power enough to machine. But, the machining is occurred in local area of the material by the combined energy. Using this process, the material is especially prevented from chemical damage for electric property. We have tested this new concept, and achieved a line with $1{mu}m$ width. The Ar laser with 488nm wavelength was used. The material was Si(100) wafer, and etchant is KOH solution. The application and flexibility of this process is in great hopes for MEMS structures and fabrication of the micro electric device parts.

  • Roll-to-roll forming process is one of important metal processing technology because the process is simple and economical. These days, with these merits, roll-to-roll forming process is tried to be employed in manufacturing the circuit board, barrier ribs and solar cell plate. However, it is difficult to apply to the forming of micro scale or sub-micro scale pattern. In this study, the roll forming processing for the micro scale is designed and analyzed. The forming of micro pattern for small electric device such as LCD panel by incremental roll forming process is analyzed. Firstly, the optimum analysis conditions are found by several analyses. And then, formability is analyzed for various protrusion shapes at various forming temperatures. The formability is evaluated in terms of filling ratio and damage value. The filling ratio is defined from the tool geometry and critical damage is determined from the analysis of uniaxial tensile test. Finally, optimum forming conditions that guarantee the successful forming are found.

  • This paper presents an analysis of some experimental results concerning micro-structural tests, permeability measurements and strain-stress tests of four types of High-Performance Concrete, exposed to elevated temperatures (up to $700^{\circ}C$). These experimental results, obtained within the "HITECO" research programme are discussed and interpreted in the context of a recently developed mathematical model of hygro-thermal behaviour and degradation of concrete at high temperature, which is briefly presented in the Part 2 paper (Gawin, et al. 2005). Correlations between concrete permeability and porosity micro-structure, as well as between damage and cracks' volume, are found. An approximate decomposition of the thermally induced material damage into two parts, a chemical one related to cement dehydration process, and a thermal one due to micro-cracks' development caused by thermal strains at micro- and meso-scale, is performed. Constitutive relationships describing influence of temperature and material damage upon its intrinsic permeability at high temperature for 4 types of HPC are deduced. In the Part II of this paper (Gawin, et al. 2005) effect of two different damage-permeability coupling formulations on the results of computer simulations concerning hygro-thermo-mechanical performance of concrete wall during standard fire, is numerically analysed.

  • In the machining process of micros shape by using high-precision machining system and micro end-mill, it is important for machining characters of tools to be grasped in order to stably use tools of micro end-mill. In this study. we carried out an analytical experiment of basic machining features by using end-mill tools for the purpose of damage prevention and manufacture of high quality when the tools of micro end-mill are used. This experiment used a micro machining system with high precision and a variety of end-mill tools commercialized from tens to hundreds microns in diameter. To establish an optimal machining condition without tool damage, cutting force was analyzed according to the changes of tool diameter and cutting conditions such as cutting speed. feed rate, depth of cut. And an examination was performed for the shape and surface illumination of machining surface according to the changes of machining conditions. Based on these micro machining conditions, micro square pillar, cylinder shaft. thin wall with high aspect ratio, and micro 3-D structures such as micro gear and fan were manufactured.

  • 일반적으로 등방→균질 재료로 취급되고 있는 화강암 내에는 많은 미세 결함들이 존재한다. 암석에서 이들 미세 결함들이 단계적으로 발생, 진전하여 취성파괴가 일어나는 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 논문에서는 새롭게 개발된 시험기를 이용하여 수침삼축압축시험중에 일어나는 미수크랙의 발생, 진전 및 상호작용을 연속적으로 관찰하고, 그 형태를 분류하였다.

  • A finite element analysis model is suggested for analysis of forming process of milli structure whose size is from a few hundreds ${\mu}m$ to a few mm. In this paper, finite element formulation which assemble crystal plasticity theory considering texture development with damage mechanics is developed, since orientation development and growth of micro voids became the primary factors for deformation aspects in large deformation of milli structure. Applying to, extremely, extrusion process of single crystal and extrusion/drawing process of polycrystal milli-size bar, extrusion force, preferred orientation, and damage evolution are examined to understand the characteristics of deformation of milii-size bar.

SKD11 절단금형치구용 소재의 마모손상에 관한 연구 (A study on wear damage of SKD11 steel material for a cutting mold jig)

  • This study is on wear damage of the material for a molding machine that be used at finally cutting of metal beam made in roll forming process of vehicle bump beam process line. SKD11 steel was used with the material for cutting mold jig. In the cutting mold jig, Ti diffusion heat treatment after vacuum heat treatment was carried out for upgrade of surface hardness and anti-wear. Also, the heat treatments by various methods were performed to compare the wear damage degree against above the existing heat treatment. Wear loss and friction coefficient were obtained from wear test. And, micro Vickers hardness values were compared with damaged parts or not of cutting mold jig. Micro Vickers hardness value appeared higher at the undamaged part by Ti diffusion heat treatment. The micro Vickers hardness well followed a two-parameter Weibull probability distribution.

판재 압연에서의 결함성장과 집합조직의 발전 (Damage Evolution and Texture Development During Plate Rolling)

  • A process model including the effects of both the texture development and ductile damage evolution In plane strain rolling is presented. In this process model, anisotropy from deformation texture and deterioration of mechanical properties due to growth of micro voids are directly coupled Into the virtual work expressions for the momentum and mass balances. Special treatments in obtaining the initial values of field variables in the nonlinear simultaneous equations for the anisotropic, dilatant viscoplastic deformation are also given. Mutual effects of the texture development and damage evolution during plate rolling are carefully examined in terms of the distribution of strain components, accumulated damage, R-value as well as yield surfaces.

결함을 고려한 결정 재료의 밀리 성형에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Milli-Forming of Crystalline Materials with Damage)

  • Finite element analysis model is suggested for analysis of milli-forming process, which forms milli-size products. Since the size of workpiece in a milli-forming process ranges from a few hundred micrometers to a few millimeters, microstructural changes such as the growth of micro-voids and the development of preferred orientation in a grain become crucial factors for the success of milli-forming. This analysis model incorporates anisotropy from deformation torture and deterioration of mechanical properties due to the growth of micro-voids. Applications of the proposed modeling to milli-forming are given and the results are carefully examined to understand the deformation characteristics such as texture development and damage evolution during extrusion/drawing of a milli-bar.
