Net-shape Manufacturing of Micro Porous Metal Components by Powder Injection Molding

  • A novel production method for porous metal components has been developed by applying powder space holder (PSH) method to metal powder injection molding (MIM) process. The PSH-MIM method has an industrial competitive advantage that is capable of net-shape manufacturing the micro-sized porous metal products with complicated shapes and controlled porosity and pore size. In this study, the small impeller with homogeneous micro-porous structure was manufactured by the PSH-MIM method. The effects of combinations in size and fraction of PMMA particle on dimensional tolerance and variation of sintered porous specimens were investigated. It was concluded that the PSH-MIM method could manufacture commercially microporous metal components with high dimensional accuracy.

Formal Models of Module Linking Mechanisms for a Single Address Space

  • As WSNs(Wireless Sensor Networks) are being deployed widely in diverse application areas, their management and maintenance become more important. Recent sensor node software takes modular software architectures in pursuit of flexible software management and energy efficient reprogramming. To realize an flexible and efficient modular architecture particularly on resource constrained mote-class sensor nodes that are implemented with MCUs(Micro-Controller Units) of a single address space. an appropriate module linking model is essential to resolve and bind the inter-module global symbols. This paper identifies a design space of module linking model and respectively their implementation frameworks. We then establish a taxonomy for module linking models by exploring the design space of module linking models. Finally, we suggest an implementation framework respectively for each module linking model in the taxonomy. We expect that this work lays the foundations for systematic innovation toward more flexible and efficient modular software architectures for WSNs.

  • Recently, the next-generation advanced flow visualization techniques such as holographic PIV, dynamic PIV, echo-PIV, micro/nano-PIV, and X-ray PIV have been introduced. These advanced measurement techniques have a big potential as the core technology for analyzing outmost thermo-fluid flows in future. These would be indispensable in solving complicated thermo-fluid flow problems not only in the industrial fields such as automotive, space, electronics, aero- and hydro-dynamics, steel, and information engineering, but also in the research fields of medical science, bio-medical engineering, environmental and energy engineering etc. Especially, NT (Nano Technology) and BT (Bio Technology) strongly demand these advanced measurement techniques, because it is impossible for conventional measurement methods to observe most complicated nano- and bio-fluidic phenomena. In this presentation, the basic principle of these high-tech flow visualization techniques and their practical applications which cannot be resolved by conventional methods, such as blood flows in a micro-tube, in vivo analysis of micro-circulation, and flow around a living body will be introduced as a blue ocean strategy.

  • 오늘날 금융자본의 세계화가 진전됨에 따라 금융위기의 발생가능성과 세계경제의 불확실성이 한층 더 높아지고 있다. 한국에서 IMF 금융위기는 사회 전반의 구조조정을 추동시키면서 양적, 질적 경제적 변화를 일으키고 있어 본 연구는 광주지역의 경제적 공간의 변화를 살펴보았다. 광주지역경제에 영향을 크게 미치는 산업은 서비스업과 수송장비제조업 등을 들 수 있는데 이들 산업은 IMF금융위기의 경제적 침체의 영향을 민감하게 받았고, 대신 고무 .플라스틱.기계장비.전기전각 부문의 제조업은 상대적으로 영향을 적게 받았다. 공간적으로는 서비스업의 감소로 도심지역의 상업이 쇠락하고, 첨단산업육성을 통한 위기 극복의 노력으로 인해 광산업 집적공간의 형성과 벤처기업이 입지한 창업보육센터나 벤처빌딩과 같은 미시산업공간이 나타나고 있다. 그러나 첨단산업의 지방뿌리내림은 첨단산업의 수도권 집중의 구조적, 지리적 한계를 지니고 있으며, 따라서 지역혁신체제의 구축에 대한 연구가 필요하리라 생각된다.

시멘트계 재료의 탄소포집 건설재료로 활용연구 - 탄산화 양생에 의한 미세구조 변화 (A Study on the Cementitious Materials as Carbon Capture Materials-Micro-Structure Change by Carbonation Curing)

  • 최근 산업 활동에 의해 발생하는 $CO_2$에 대한 처리와 산업부산물에 대한 유효처리 및 자원화 방안이 시급히 요구되고 있다. 본 연구는 콘크리트 혼합재료로 활용이 가능한 산업부산물를 대상으로 탄산화 양생에 의한 건설재료로의 적용성 평가를 목적으로 한다. 이러한 목적을 위해 연구용 시멘트(research cement, RC), 고로슬래그 미분말(GGBFS) 및 유동층 보일러 애시(CFBC)를 대상으로 탄산화 양생에 의한 물리 화학적 변화를 비교 검토하였다. 페이스트 내부의 미세조직 변화를 살펴보기 위해 XRD, SEM 분석을 수행하였다. 실험결과 탄산화 양생을 통해 생성된 반응 생성물인 탄산칼슘은 페이스트 내부의 공간을 채우며 밀도가 높은 미세 구조를 형성함을 확인하였다. 또한, $CO_2$ 양생시간이 길어짐에 따라 탄산칼슘 결정이 함께 성장하여 밀실한 미세구조를 이루는 것을 확인하였다.

Space holder 공정으로 제조된 치과 임플란트용 타이타늄 다공체의 파손 분석 (Fracture Analysis of Porous Titanium for Dental Implant Fabricated by Space Holder Process)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze fracture behavior and failure mechanism of porous titanium for dental implant fabricated by space holder process. Method: Three porous titanium specimens with a specific volume fraction of open pore were test by 3 point bending and compression stress condition, respectively. Fracture appearance was observed by scanning electron microscope and discussed in relation with oxygen content. Results: For compression-tested specimens, two specimen showed brittle failure, while the other one showed normal failure after deformation. High oxygen content was detected in the brittle-fractured specimen. Several micro-cracks initiated at the struts propagated down to the bottom of the specimen resulting in normal failure. Conclusion: Oxygen contamination during the fabrication process can leads brittle premature failure, and hence quality problem of the porous titanium for dental implant.

컨테이너와 팔레트 적재패턴에 대한 마이크로 컴퓨터 프로그램 (A Microcomputer Program for Loading Pattern of Pallet and Container)

  • A common problem for manufacturing industries, especially consumer goods industries, is how to establish standardized procedures for loading finished goods onto pallets or containers for subsequent storage and distribution. Utilizing previous research results on the palletizing problem, this paper develops micro-computer based programs which generate an optimum loading pattern leading to the minimum amount of unused pallet or container space. Development of pallet layout chart is also included in the computer programs. The results are displayed by computer-graphic. For the users who are unfamiliar with pallet loading problem and computer system, pull-down menu and user-computer interactive data input procedures are adopted.

Elasticity of Demand for Urban Housing in Western China Based on Micro-data - A Case Study of Kunming

  • Purpose - Considering the importance of housing needs to real estate market, domestic studies on real estate prices from the perspective of demand are basically based on macro-data, but relatively few are associated with micro-data of urban real estate demand. We try to find a reliable relation of elasticity of demand and commercial housing market. Research design, data, and methodology - In this paper, we have derived housing demand theoretic method and have utilized micro-data of residential family housing survey of downtown area in Kunming City in October, 2015 to estimate income elasticity and price elasticity of housing demand respectively and make a comparative analysis. Results - The results indicate that income elasticity and price elasticity of families with owner-occupied housing are both larger than those of families with rental housing. Income elasticity of housing demand of urban residential families in Kunming is far below the foreign average and eastern coastal cities level, however, the corresponding price elasticity is far higher. Conclusions - We suggest that housing affordability of urban families in western China are constrained by the level of economic development, and the current housing price level has exceeded the economic affordability and psychological expectation of ordinary residents. Furthermore, noticing the great rigidity of housing demand, the expansion space of housing market for improvement and for commodity is limited.

우주탐사용 나노기술 개발 동향 (Current Status of Nanotechnology Development for Space Exploration)

  • 나노기술(NT, Nanotechnology)은 분자 및 원자 수준에서 물질을 제작 및 가공할 수 있는 초극미세기술을 의미하며, 재료, 물리, 전자 등의 기존의 기술 분야들을 융합하여 새로운 기술 영역을 구축하는 학제간 연구(Interdisciplinary)가 필요한 분야이다. 국내에서는 탄소나노튜브가 향후 반도체를 견인할 10대 신성장동력 미래기술로 선정되어 활발한 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 나노기술이 미소과학 분야라면 우주기술(ST, Space Technology)는 거대 복합과학 분야를 대표하는 기술로서 기계, 재료, 전자, 통신 등의 기술을 활용하는 시스템 기술이다. 우리나라의 우주개발은 선진국 보다 비록40년 가량 늦었지만 15년 남짓한 기간에 기술자립화 단계로 나아가는 비약적인 성과를 보여주고 있다. 전남 고흥에 나로우주센터가 완공되면 우리 땅에서, 우리 위성을, 우리 발사체로 발사할 수 있게 된다. 나노기술분야는 나노재료, 나노전자, 나노제조 등 매우 광범위하므로 우주기술 개발을 위한 제한된 자원의 견지에서, 비용 대비 성능이 가장 우수하게 평가되는 나노 기술적 구성요소들에 집중하는 것이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 미국 NASA에서 수행중인 나노기술 개발현황과 유럽의 9차 나노포럼에서 보고한 우주항공분야의 나노기술을 기초로, 현재 우주항공선진국에서 수행중인 개발 현황을 정리하였다. 성능 나노기술의 도움으로 이전에는 불가능하였던 우주 기술이 현실로 다가오고 있는바, 우주개발의 경쟁력을 얻기 위해서는 나노기술을 접목해야만 한다는 것을 알 수 있다. 우리나라는 국가우주개발중장기계획에 따라 2025년 달탐사 착륙선을 개발할 계획이므로, 나노기술을 적극적으로 활용하여 선진국수준의 기술을 확보해야 할 것이다.
