As the domestic and international landscape undergoes rapid changes, the importance of implementing security measures in response to the growing threats that businesses face is increasing. In this context, the need for Security by Design (SbD), integrating security from the early design stages, is becoming more pronounced, with threat modeling recognized as a fundamental tool of SbD. Particularly, to save costs and time by detecting and resolving security issues early, the application of the Shift Left strategy requires the involvement of personnel with limited security expertise, such as software developers, in threat modeling. Although various automated threat modeling tools have been released, their lack of user-friendliness for personnel lacking security expertise poses challenges in conducting threat modeling effectively. To address this, we conducted an analysis of research related to threat modeling tools and derived usability evaluation criteria based on the GQM(Goal-Question-Metric) approach. An expert survey was conducted to validate both the validity and objectivity of the derived criteria. We performed usability evaluations of three threat modeling tools (MS TMT, SPARTA, PyTM), and the evaluation results led to the conclusion that MS TMT exhibited superior usability compared to other tools. This study aims to contribute to the creation of an environment where personnel with limited security expertise can effectively conduct threat modeling by proposing usability evaluation criteria.
In this paper, we investigate the $\mathbb{R}$-complex Hermitian Finsler spaces, emphasizing the differences that separate them from the complex Finsler spaces. The tools used in this study are the Chern-Finsler and Berwald connections. By means of these connections, some classes of the $\mathbb{R}$-complex Hermitian Finsler spaces are defined, (e.g. weakly K$\ddot{a}$hler, K$\ddot{a}$hler, strongly K$\ddot{a}$hler). Here the notions of K$\ddot{a}$hler and strongly K$\ddot{a}$hler do not coincide, unlike the complex Finsler case. Also, some kinds of Berwald notions for such spaces are introduced. A special approach is devoted to obtain the equivalence conditions for an $\mathbb{R}$-complex Hermitian Finsler space to become a weakly Berwald or Berwald. Finally, we obtain the conditions under which an $\mathbb{R}$-complex Hermitian Finsler space with Randers metric is Berwald. We get some clear examples which illustrate the interest for this work.

The product-level carbon footprint (PCF) is a comprehensive and widely accepted metric for sustainable product development. However, since a full PCF study in general is time and cost intensive, it is not feasible for the product development team to synchronize the activity to the main product development process. In addition, the current dedicated life cycle assessment (LCA) tools for calculating PCF, separated from the main product data management systems, have limitations to provide timely PCF information for design decision makings and collaborations between design and environment engineers. This paper examines the possibility of the extension of the current product data model that can support the PCF calculation with PDM (Product Data Management) databases. The product data model can represent not only the content of products but also context or system information of the products. The product data model can be implemented as a PDM database that can satisfy the needs for handy and timely PCF calculations from the consistent product data for dynamic design decision makings and engineering collaborations.

The Voronoi diagram of spheres and power diagram have been known as powerful tools to analyze spatial characteristics of weighted points, and these structures have variety range of applications including molecular spatial structure analysis, location based optimization, architectural design, etc. Due to the fact that both diagrams are based on different distance metrics, one has better usability than another depending on application problems. In this paper, we compare these diagrams in various situations from the user's viewpoint, and show the Voronoi diagram of spheres is more effective in the problems based on the Euclidean distance metric such as nearest neighbor search, path bottleneck locating, and internal void finding.

This paper presents the development of an interactive knowledge-based CAM system for design-ing and manufacturing the mold. The system is composed of two functional parts. One is the geo-metric modeller that uses the feature-based models. The models include base plate step, hole, pocket, boss and slot, These are designed by interactive user interface. The other is the expert sys-tem module with inference engine and knowledge database of workpiece material tools manufac-turing machines process an working conditions. With two parts the final mold shape is generated with manufacturing information for effective production.
High dynamic range (HDR) technology has been drawing attention in the field of imaging and consumer entertainment. As tools for capturing and creating HDR contents, encoding, and transmission evolve to support HDR formats, various display capabilities are being developed and increased. Hence, there is need for remapping native HDR imagery for display on lower quality legacy standard dynamic range (SDR) displays. This operation is referred to as tone mapping. In this paper, we present a sectional tone mapping method by Lenzen, and expand upon a tone mapping approach to improve temporal stability while maintaining picture quality. Compared to the existing block-based sectional tone mapping, our method uses the edge awareness-based tone mapping. We estimate the performance of the objective metric on temporal flickering. The experimental result shows that the algorithm maintains a smoother relationship between the output luminance values, and this reveals success in reducing halos and improving temporal stability with adopted edge aware filtering.
We propose an algorithm for augmenting a real video sequence with views of graphics ojbects without metric calibration of the video camera by representing the motion of the video camera in projective space. We define a virtual camera, through which views of graphics objects are generated. attached to the real camera by specifying image locations of the world coordinate system of the virtual world. The virtual camera is decomposed into calibration and motion components in order to make full use of graphics tools. The projective motion of the real camera recovered from image matches has a function of transferring the virtual camera and makes the virtual camera move according to the motion of the real camera. The virtual camera also follows the change of the internal parameters of the real camera. This paper shows theoretical and experimental results of our application of non-metric vision to augmented reality.
Needle phobia of medical devices is a significant problem in children patients. We conducted study in 130 pediatric patients aged $8{\sim}13$(mean age 10.5) who had venipuncture performed in a computed tomography. This review aims to explore the research available relating to three commonly used pain rating scales of children, the visual analogue scale(VAS), numeric pain rating scale(NPRS) and Wong-Baker faces pain scale(WBFPS) with scores. Its validity is supported by a strong positive correlation with the three-pain rating scales(correlations ranging from 0.70 to 0.92) measure in children. There were no significant differences between the means on the VAS and either of the pain rating scales. It has the advantage of being suitable for use with the most widely used metric for scoring($0{\sim}10$), and conforms closely to a linear interval scale. These scales presented moderate to good correlation and moderate agreement, sufficient for valid use in children. All three pain-rating scales are valid, reliable and appropriate for use in intravenous catheter placement.

Recent requirements in component management of building systems have focused on the requirement for improving methods and metric tools to support component condition assessment and appropriate decisions for infrastructure owned facilities. Although engineers and researchers have focused on developing methodologies for component assessment in recent years but there is not enough attention dedicate to facilities and components that have been constructed. This paper is a literature study of scientific papers within the topic of component condition index system (CCIS) in the period 1976 to 2009. Infrastructure component condition index had existed for some 40 years. The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of CCIS to identify the suitable method for component condition assessment during its service life. This paper finds that the focus of CCIS, surveyed in several aspects during the 40 years that have been investigated, from technology to measurement and from assessment function to component maintenance as an integrated part of the infrastructure component management. This study offers help to researchers in understanding the selection of an appropriate method for component condition assessment in building and non-building systems.
Purpose: This study questioned the efficiency of daylight factor as a daylight adequacy and investigated a method of how to complement its weakness by considering a direct sunlight component under a clear sky condition. Method: The Snowdon visitor centre cafe was chosen as a case study building and various techniques such as BRE formula, BRE sky protractor, Pilkington dot diagram and mock-upscale model under the artificial sky simulator were used to analyse and compare daylight factor values. An analysis of direct sunlight component under the clear sky condition was carried out by Climate Consultant 5.5, sun path diagram, and the artificial sky simulator. Result: The result of daylight factor analysis differed by the adopted techniques and it was also contradictory to the results on a direct sunlight penetration. The result not only showed the limitation of daylight factor as a metric but also suggested an improvement by combining it with direct sunlight analysis. The techniques used in this study had a merit of being applied in the early design stage and thus be beneficial to many design professions in order for early daylight performance analysis.
