Graphene field-effect transistors (GFET) is one of candidates for future high speed electronic devices since graphene has unique electronic properties such as high Fermi velocity (vf=10^6 m/s) and carrier mobility ($15,000cm^2/V{\cdot}s$) [1]. Although the contact property between graphene and metals is a crucial element to design high performance electronic devices, it has not been clearly identified. Therefore, we need to understand characteristics of graphene/metal contact in the GFET. Recently, it is theoretically known that graphene on metal can be doped by presence of interface dipole layer induced by charge transfer [2]. It notes that doping type of graphene under metal is determined by difference of work function between graphene and metal. In this study, we present the GFET fabricated by contact metals having high work function (Pt, Ni) for p-doping and low work function (Ta, Cr) for n-doping. The results show that asymmetric conductance depends on work function of metal because the interfacial dipole is locally formed between metal electrodes and graphene. It induces p-n-p or n-p-n junction in the channel of the GFET when gate bias is applied. In addition, we confirm that charge transfer regions are differently affected by gate electric field along gate length.
Experimentally to investigate the conductive characteristic of oil-immersed paper, we observed the leakage current-voltage characteristic of oil-immersed paper, the temperature dependence of ionization rate and the effect of metal electrode on the leakage current. The results showed that the leakage current-voltage characteristic generally followed the experimental equation i=i$_{0}$ exp (K.root.E) and the slope K did not change by the temperature and electric strength, but only when the direct voltage was applied. And also the leakage current seemed to depend on the work function of metal electrode. From the above results we concluded that the deterioration of oil-immersed paper was not only caused by the thermionic emission from the cathode but also by the conductive property of oil-immersed paper in itself and the work function of metal electrode.e.

According to the analysis of special medical examination and work environment monitoring data, the rate of C1 and D1 on noise hazard exceeded 90% among those of total hazardous factors. The rate of company exceeding noise exposure limit was also more than 90%. The analysis result shows that main ages diagnosed with C1 and D1 was age of 50s. The majority scale company having workers diagnosed with C1 and D1 was the companies employing 5~49 workers. Types of industries which have a large number of companies exceeding noise exposure limit were automobile and trailer manufacturing, metal processing industry and primary metal manufacturing. A large number of work processes exceeding noise exposure limit were forming and processing work, cutting and bending work and grinding. To reduce the number of company exceeding noise exposure limit, the reduction counterplan should be focused on the type of industry and the work process which exceeded noise exposure limit frequently. However, the reduction counterplan is preemptively necessary to the type of industry and the work process which exceeded noise exposure limit consecutively if the purpose of reduction counterplan is not to merely reduce the number of company exceeding noise exposure limit but to abate workers' suffering from noise.
Activated carbon fibers were prepared from the petroleum isotropic pitch and organometallic compounds. The metalsvwere dispersed uniformly in the ACFs. The specific surface area and pore size distributions of metal containing ACFsvwere measured. The mesopores of ACFs were developed by Co, Ni, and Mn metals addition and the catalytic reactivityvof ACFs'SOx removal was increased by adding Ni and Pd metals. It was found that the mesopores did not work forvthe improvement of catalytic reactivity of ACFs' SOx removal with the blank experiment using the metal removedvACFs.

Using both experimental and theoretical approaches, we have investigated the adsorption properties of an organic molecule (HATCN), which is used in OLEDs as an efficient hole injection layer, on metal and inert surfaces. We have also studied the structural and electronic properties of such interfaces and the dependences on deposition thickness. We have observed different trends in work function changes with different surfaces. Our photoelectron spectroscopic measurements have revealed an abnormal phenomenon in HATCN on a metal (Cu) surface: the work function decreases at lower coverage (~monolayer) of HATCN on a metal (Cu) surface, but it increases back and becomes higher than that of a bare Cu surface at higher coverage. It has, on the contrary, been observed that the work function of graphene surface just increases as the HATCN coverage increases. Our first-principles density functional calculations has not only verified our experimental observations, but also disclosed the underlying mechanism of such abnormal and different work function behaviors. We have found that the change in work function results from mutual polarization induced by the geometrical deformation and the bond dipole formed at the interface due to the charge redistribution. At low coverage of HAT-CN on Cu substrate, the former reduces the work function significantly by pulling down the vacuum level, while the latter tends to push up the vacuum level resulting in the work function increase.

Track rubber parts has heat built-up as long as dynamic loading is applied from running tracked vehicles. Durability is required for rubber part to sustain the heat accumulation and heat exchange between rubber-metal assembly and environmental air and ground. For this research, the track assembly was divided into four parts i.e., bottom track shoe, upper track pad, pin busing and metal structure. Three rubber parts and metal structure were modelled and analyzed with MARC package program to obtain time-temperature data which was induced form mechanical work of tracked vehicles. heat accumulation data was obtained from special experiments under the room temperature of 25$^{\circ}C\;and\;35^{\circ}C$ to simulate the actual environmental conditions. From this research, it is cleared that the environmental temperature does not affect to the heat accumulation speed in rubber parts. Also, the heat built-up mechanism was clarified from the thermo-mechanical work based on numerical analysis and experiments.

High-speed machining is a very useful tool and one of the most effective rapid manufacturing processes. This study sought to produce various high-speed machining materials with excellent quality and dimensional accuracy. However, high-speed machining is not suitable for microscale thin-walled structures because the structure stiffness lacks the ability to resist the cutting force. This paper proposes a new method that is able to rapidly produce very thin-walled structures. This method consists of high-speed machining followed by filling. A strong work-holding force results from the solidification of the filling materials. Low-melting point metal alloys are used to minimize the thermal effects during phase changes and to hold the arbitrarily shaped thin-walled structures quickly during the high-speed machining. We demonstrate some applications, such as thin-walled cylinders and hemispherical shells, to verify the usefulness of this method and compare the analyzed dimensional accuracy of typical parts of the structures.

The simulated die-casting process in which the traditional plaster casting process is combined with Rapid Prototyping technology is being used to produce Al, Mg, and Zn die-casting prototypes. Unlike in the die-casting process, molten metal in the conventional plaster casting process is fed via a gravity pour into a mold and the mold does not cool as quickly as a die-casting mold. The plaster castings have much larger and grosser grain structure as compared as the die-castings and the thin walls of the plaster mold cavity may not be completely fillet Because of lower mechanical properties induced by the large grain structure and incomplete Idling, the conventional plaster casting process is not suitable for the trial die-casting Process. In this work, an enhanced trial die-casting process has been developed in which molten metal in the plaster mold cavity is vibrated and pressurized simultaneously. Patterns for the casting are made by Rapid Prototyping technologies and then plaster molds, which have runner system, are made using these patterns. Imparted pressurized vibration to molten metal has made grain structure of castings much finer and improved fluidity of the molten metal enough to obtain complete filling at thin walls which can not be filled in the conventional plaster casting process.

Typical electrodes (metal or indium tin oxide (ITO)), which were used in conventional organic light emitting devices (OLEDs) structure, have transparency and conductivity, but, it is not suitable as the electrode of the flexible OLEDs (f-OLEDs) due to its brittle property. Although Graphene is the most well-known alternative material for conventional electrode because of present electrode properties as well as flexibility, its carrier injection barrier is comparatively high to use as electrode. In this work, we performed plasma treatment on the graphene surface and alkali metal doping in the organic materials to study for its possibility as anode and cathode, respectively. By using Ultraviolet Photoemission Spectroscopy (UPS), we investigated the interfaces of modified graphene. The plasma treatment is generated by various gas types such as O2 and Ar, to increase the work function of the graphene film. Also, for co-deposition of organic film to do alkali metal doping, we used three different organic materials which are BMPYPB (1,3-Bis(3,5-di-pyrid-3-yl-phenyl)benzene), TMPYPB (1,3,5-Tri[(3-pyridyl)-phen-3-yl]benzene), and 3TPYMB (Tris(2,4,6-trimethyl-3-(pyridin-3-yl)phenyl)borane)). They are well known for ETL materials in OLEDs. From these results, we found that graphene work function can be tuned to overcome the weakness of graphene induced carrier injection barrier, when the interface was treated with plasma (alkali metal) through the value of hole (electron) injection barrier is reduced about 1 eV.

This work investigated edge-cracking behavior of equiatomic CoCrFeMnNi high-entropy alloy during hot rolling at rolling temperatures $500{\leq}T_R{\leq}1000^{\circ}C$. Edge cracks did not form in the material rolled at $500^{\circ}C$, but widened and deepened into the inside of plate as $T_R$ increased from $500^{\circ}C$. Edge cracks were most severe in the material rolled at $1000^{\circ}C$. Mn-Cr-O type non-metallic inclusion and oxidation were identified as major factors that caused edge cracking. The inclusions near edge region acted as preferential sites for crack formation. Connection between inclusion cracks and surface cracks induced edge cracking. Rolling at $T_R{\geq}600^{\circ}C$ generated distinct inclusion cracks whereas they were not serious at $T_R=500^{\circ}C$, so noticeable edge cracks formed at $T_R{\geq}600^{\circ}C$. At $T_R=1000^{\circ}C$, significant oxidation occurred at the crack surface. This accelerated edge crack penetration by embrittling the crack tip, so severe edge cracking occurred at $T_R=1000^{\circ}C$.
