  • The purpose of this study was to propose some plan which could satisfy consumer's expectation emotional needs by comparing emotional scale between fashion brand image and brand website coloration image. For this study, 12 brand websites within four fashion zone, men's clothing, women's clothing, casual wear, and sports wear were chosen. The questionnaires were comprised of 27 emotional adjectives which were selected from previous studies. The questionnaires were distributed to university students and office workers for 3 to 17 on September. Among them, 118 questionnaires were analyzed by SPSS tool. The qualitative analysis for emotional adjective sorting, content analysis for website color chip sorting, and quantitative analysis for consumers were used in this study. Some differences exist between brand image and website coloration band image as the result. As the numbers of internet user became larger, the costumer's emotional image which gives maximum satisfaction is getting more important in fashion brand website. Therefore, fashion website managers should satisfy consumers with functional and emotional needs.

A Study on Use of Anthropometric Data and 3D Body Scan Data at Apparel Industry

  • The 3D measurement data expected be useful to give appropriate garment fit and development of MTM(Made-to-Measure) CAD software. The researcher surveyed the need and use of national anthropometric data of the apparel industry. 17 Korean apparel manufacturers participated in the study. The need of anthropometric data at 5 different apparel business sectors was measured: men's suit, women's dress, casual-wear, underwear, and active sportswear. The result of the survey shows that height and bust, waist, hip circumferences are needed by all of the business sectors. The body measurements at the scye and upper arm area were need most by the men's suit manufacturers. The women's foundation garment manufacturers were well prepared for the use of the 3D body scan data and they expected the potential benefits of 3D body scan data would be great. The researcher also conducted a case study and found a pro and con of the using 3D body scan data for apparel product developing process. In the current stage of technical advance, a reasonable method was required to get nude like scan data for the women's foundation garment manufacturer. The researcher concluded that the apparel designer could use the 3D scan data for developing tremendous style garment design and pattern making.

  • This study derives evaluation terms by analyzing the semantic relationship between design elements and sentiment terms in regards to fashion design. As for research methods, a total of 38,225 texts from Daum and Naver Blogs from November 2015 to October 2016 were collected to analyze the parts, frequency, centrality and semantic networks of the terms. As a result, design elements were derived in the form of a noun while fashion image and user's emotional responses were derived in the form of adjectives. The study selected 15 noun terms and 52 adjective terms as evaluation terms for men's striped shirts. The results of semantic network analysis also showed that the main contents of the users of men's striped shirts were derived as characteristics of expression, daily wear, formation, and function. In addition, design elements such as pattern, color, coordination, style, and fit were classified with evaluation results such as wide, bright, trendy, casual, and slim.

  • The purpose of this study was to understand changes of the current young generation's lifestyle, aesthetic attitude for an appearance, and way of thinking by making a close investigation into metrosexual, the recent mode, and find out its cultural and social implications. As a method of the study, the literature and the Internet data were reviewed. Articles from newspapers, magazines and the Internet were chosen roughly from the year 2000 to now because metrosexual mode remarkably boomed before and after 2000. Books related to the theory on the mode in a costume culture were referred. Also, articles in daily newspapers which dealt with cultural and social issues were reviewed, fashion magazines for men such as Esquire and GQ showing the new trend in men's lifestyle and fashion were examined, and the Internet providing us the latest news from cultural and social topics to fashion trends were investigated. The backgrounds of the rise of metrosexual mode were a collapse of stereotypes in various fields, spread of lookism in a visual image period, extension of commercialism, and expansion of men's character casual trend. Metrosexual was defined as an urban male with a strong aesthetic sense who spends a great deal of time and money on his appearance and lifestyle. His fashion style was characterized by slim and flowing silhouette, feminine and luxurious materials such as transparent chiffon, silk and cotton with a light and soft touch, and a knitted wear with a flowing line, a wide variety of vivid and pastel colors, floral and geometric patterns, and the decorative details like lace, beads, embroidery, and fur. From spread of this mode, two cultural and social implications were extracted. Firstly, the current young generation's aesthetic standards for the perfect man changed from macho man to considerate man who had a good appearance and this suggested that a conventional sex role broke down. Secondly, men began to explore for their own identity escaping from traditionally standardized masculinity that they had been forced to follow.

Preference Tendency to Western Images through Advertising Pictures (광고를 통해 본 여대생의 서구 이미지 선호경향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the female college students' preferences to the images of both western and eastern pictures, and positive/negative perception on to the model's nationality in the apparel advertizing pictures of fashion magazines. 100 students participated in the survey, and 20 stimulus pictures were shown to them. The results were as follows: The female college students preferred the western images than the eastern images in the pictures of bedroom, palace and beer, while they preferred the eastern images in the pictures of snack and famous drawings of a beauty. But they showed more positive attitude to all the western models' advertizement pictures than the eastern models' ones, in casual wear, formal wear, watches and inner-wear divisions except in men's formal wear division. This meant that the perception of female students on western images was positive and it seems stimulating the consumers preferences of brand images.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences in the image perception of dress shirts, the shirts style preference, the men's fashion consciousness, the shirt purchase attitude, and the usage of the information source between the Daks group(44 respondents) and Renoma group(21 respondents), for developing the possibility and strategy of the dress shirt market in men's wear market for the apparel marketers and manufacturers. For this study, the data obtained from 65 respondents were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson's simple correlation, ANOVA. The results from the study were as follows ; The 6 stimuli for image perception rated on 5 point Likert-type scales in the 12 features were evaluated by perceivers. By the best 3 features abstracted from each stimulus, the shirts styles were named, they were Basic style, Soft style, Sophisticated style, Modern casual style, Mannish style, and Trendy style. There were significant differences in the image perception of Mannish style, the preferences of shirts style, the fashion consciousness, the shirt purchase attitude, and the usage of the information source between the Daks group and Renoma group.

  • The purpose of this study is to research the change of Tibet's commercial district following Tibet's globalization(traditional clothing to modern clothing). Tibet's traditional culture is fastly changing for two major reasons: Chinese government's persistent assimilation policy on minority ethnic groups and globalization, a powerful trend worldwide. Therefore this investigation was conducted on the most preeminent feature of life, clothing culture, at capital city Lhasa where modernization is most prominent and fast in Tibet. For this, the first field investigation was conducted between February 5th and 15th, 2007. and the second investgation was between January 16th and 25th, 2008. As a result, the study on clothing globalization in Lhasa, Tibet, reaches the conclusion as follows: Based on such developments, commerce of Lhasa has been modernized, bringing about great change in composition and formation of its commercial district. Stores have been modernized and their service quality has improved. While the number of traditional clothes shops has decreased, various types of modern clothes shops have emerged. Modern clothes stores mostly consist of quality men's wear shops, casual clothing shops targeting those in their 20s, and sportswear shops reflecting global trend. This composition indicates that it is men and younger generation who first adopt new culture emerged through globalization. Tibet's modernization and social development have become an integral part of globalization and public sentiment. Therefore, its modernization will be driven by power and capability of the public, rather than by policy control of the central government.

Survey of Shoes Wearing Reality and Old Males Foot Types

  • This research to reveal the foot types of old males consisted of two parts. First, a questionnaire was given for 180 old men in their 60s and above who live in Busan. Second, based on this survey on the reality of shoes wearing, direct and indirect measurement were held for 200 old gentlemen. The findings are as follows: 1. Survey Results of Shoes Wearing Reality In the investigation into the reality of shoes possession and wearing, most of old males favored active casual shoes with comfortable materials (40.8%). Hardened skin (23.6%) was the greatest in foot deformation and side effects resulting from shoes wearing, while the big toe (20.1%) was most uncomfortable. The greatest requirement for comfortable shoes was shoes making feet comfortable with a good sense of wear (41.0%), followed by shoes with the soft sole to absorb shock (31.7%), shoes with diverse sizes according to shoes width (13.7%), and shoes made of soft materials in consideration of various foot shapes. 2. Results of Foot Measurement Experiments Busan's males in their 60s and above were 166.31cm (Height), 63.51kg (weight), 23.94cm (foot length), 9.75cm (foot width), and 24.26cm (instep girth). The big toe angle of old males was $11.22^{\circ}$ and the little toe angle $14.70^{\circ}$. Four foot types were classified: 1 (long big foot), 2 (small inside-developed foot), 3 (toe-tip-gathered foot), and 4 (thin flat foot).

A Study on Characteristics of Purchase Behaviors of Outdoor Wear Consumers (등산복 구매행동의 특성 연구)

  • The purpose of this research is to identify differences between characteristics of purchase behavior of outdoor wear consumers, demographic variables and mountain climbing related variables. The subjects of surveys are selected among men and women consumers having experiences of purchasing outdoor wear in ages from 20's to over 50's who live in the vicinity of Busan. Data and information collected are analyzed by using SPSS Program. Results from the analysis of purchasing purpose indicates that they buy outdoor wear conducive to two similar reasons; that is, "only to exercise and enjoy mountain climbing" and "either to wear it in time of climbing mountain or everyday life," and results from the analysis of purchase frequency reveals that '$1\sim2$ times'a you is the highest. Results from analysis of preference of brand of outdoor wear reveals that Kolon Sport is followed by the North Face and K2.

A Study on the Shirt style Preference and the Shirt Purchase Attitude (드레스 셔츠 스타일 선호도(選好度)와 구매태도 분석(購買態度 分析))

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the shirt market, to find out the shirt trend in 2005 A/W, to analysis shirt style Preference, and to investigate the shirts purchase attitude according to the income, age, and occupation of the 321 respondents, for developing the possibility & strategy of the dress shirts market in men's wear for the apparel marketers and manufactures. For this study, the data obtained from 321 respondents were analyzed by descriptive statistics. The results from the study were as follows ; In 2005 A/W, Countessmara, Daks, Dupont, Renoma, and Yesac were commomly distributed in 5 department stores in Daejon and Seoul. There were seen trends that were pursuing a various fabric, colors, details, and high-touch design in shirt. Men workers prefered the Basic and Modern casual style to Soft, Sophisticated, Modern mannish, and Trendy style shirt. The 133(41.4%)respondents estimated that the important viewpoint in purchasing dress shirts was 'Design. The 212(66%) respondents estimated that they prefered the different shirt brand from their suits. And results revealed that Daks ranked best brand (13.7%), and Renoma ranked best two brand (6,5%). The 103 (32.1%) respondents estimated that they possessed the three shirts per one suits. The 201(62.6%) respondents estimated that they prefered the department store for purchasing shirt. And, the 114(35.5%) respondents estimated that the first important information source which influenced on purchasing dress shirts was the store display, next was internet(15.9%).
