The supply of medical services using high-priced medical equipment is increasing due to the medicalization of medical science. The level of medical knowledge of medical consumers and the ability to select medical institutions are required to provide high quality medical services because of the popularization of medical information. As the attitudes of medical consumers toward medical institutions change, medical institutions also need to change their perception to improve customer satisfaction. The purpose of this study is to analyze the difference of medical service satisfaction according to the medical knowledge about the utility of PET / CT in order to change the consciousness structure of medical service. The results of this study showed that both medical satisfaction and environmental satisfaction were high in those who had medical knowledge about their own illness and the usefulness of PET / CT. Therefore, medical institutions will need a practical medical service countermeasures to provide medical information by noticing the changes in perception of the medical knowledge of medical consumers, rather than providing formal medical services.

The medical library, as a professional information center in relation to medical examination and treatment, research, and medical administration, should be operated under the rational and efficient library management. In that context, this study examines the theoretical underpinnings of the medical library management, and compares and analyzes, through direct visits, webpages, and statistical data, the current library operation of medical libraries in Seoul. This study also tries to make a managemental framework for the medical library by suggesting and discussing the result of this research.

The purpose of this study is to find out the most successful way for the protection of medical information focusing on the electronic medical record(EMR). In this study, every aspect of the EMR is reviewed in terms of the hospital management. In particular, definitions, major functions, strengths and weaknesses of the EMR are considered. This study also examines the general development of the EMR as well as the current situation of applying the EMR. This study has analyzed the international trade flow of medical devices in Korea, China, and U.S. more theoretically and systematically through a mutual connection of the medical device export structure of Korea and the import structure of China and U.S. organically, with an intensity approach on the bilateral international trade flow. Also, it is meaningful to find a solution to boost exports of Korea to China and U.S.. Therefore in this study, we recognize the importance of the medical device market in China and U.S., which is the main competition for Korea and its market, and look into the trade situation of these three countries. We also look into the relative market stream and the trade intensity of the main medical devices in Korea, China and U.S., and seek measures for the steady growth of the medical device market in these three countries.

Objectives : This study aimed to analyze and summarize the utilization of oriental medical services in korea. Methods : From 3 Korean databases (National Assembly Library, Korea Education Research Information Sharing Service, and National Discovery for Science Leaders), published between 2001 and 2011, we were obtained 17 studies that involved the utilization of oriental medical services. Results : We found that women, elderly patients, and patients with low education levels and those with musculoskeletal and cerebrovascular diseases preferred to use oriental medical services. Other variables such as trust and kindness of staff and positive perceptions of the treatment effect were found to be significant determinants for utilizing oriental medical services. Conclusions : The utilization of oriental medical services would be related with gender, age, education levels and diseases. Also to confirm the reasons for patients to choose oriental medical services, further studies should be conducted using the highest methodological standards.

The medical-device market of Myanmar in the recent Asian region is where the influences of Thailand, China, India and Singapore are being shown considerably with the lift-up of economic sanctions by America and the West. However, although the global capital and liberalization have widened the openness and the international concerns, the relative Myanmar's medical environment demands an active assistance and improvement. The study, recognizing the importance of Medical-Devices and their market conditions emerging as key business for knowledge-based industry, aims to obtain consequential meaningful suggestions, pursuant to relative export-concentration and sustainable market growth of Medical Devices, by analyzing inter-nation trade intensity for key Medical Device items. To do so, this study selected 8 nations in total by reviewing three points: core Medicine-advanced countries, geographically adjacent countries to Myanmar, and relative export-concentration.

Through diversification of 4th industries and transportation and globalization, tourism was developed for medical purposes, not limited to touring tourist attractions. The trend of medical tourism in Korea is shifting from large and medium-sized hospitals to professional medical services in one area of small hospitals rather than professional medical services. However, small hospitals lack medical coordinators and interpretation services, and tourists who visit Korea for treatment lack information on small hospitals. Therefore, a platform is needed to match small hospitals with medical tourists. In this study, using Platform as a Service (Paas) in cloud computing, clinic administrators can access the app to introduce information about their hospitals with simple manipulations. Tourists also want to propose a customized platform to select the right area for them to check information about small-scale hospitals and choose the treatment and tourist attractions they wants. Background: The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between the local extinction index and total medical service utilization. Methods: A fixed effects model in panel analysis was performed for the 228 administrative districts in Korea. The statistical yearbook on the usage of medical services by region and Korean Statistical Information Service data were used from 2010 to 2019 for analysis. Medical service utilization was represented by the number of visits day, the number of inpatient days, and medical charges. Control variables were selected by using an Anderson model. The local extinction index was calculated using resident registration population data. Results: Descriptive statistics showed that the number of areas at risk of extinction increased from 61 to 95 for the study years. In addition, the number of visits, the number of inpatient days, and medical charges all increased during the study years. After controlling for variables affecting medical service utilization and doing a panel fixed effects model, the result suggested that a one-step increase in the local extinction index was significantly associated with a 12.29% decrease in medical charges of inpatients, a 7.33% decrease in medical charge of outpatient, a 5.21% decrease in the number of inpatient day, and a 5.54% decrease in the number of visits day. Conclusion: This study showed that the higher the region's extinction risks, the higher the region's total medical service utilization. The results of this study suggested that there was a disparity in medical service utilization between areas at risk of extinction and areas not at risk of extinction, so measures should be taken to address this disparity.

This paper is focused on the 'contents' of database level medical texts sponsored by the Chinese government. The premise of the study is that the contents of state-sponsored medical texts would show how medical policy makers and practitioners approached the body and diseases of the time, and by association the medical text would reveal the policy associated with state medical education and distribution of medical resources associated with the practitioners' approaches. This paper analyzes the contents of four representative state-sponsored medical texts: Cao's Treatise on the Origins and Symptoms of Various Diseases (巢氏諸病源候論, 610, Sui China); Great Peace and Sagely Benevolence Formulas (太平聖惠方, 996, Song China); Complete Record of Sagely Benevolence (聖濟總錄, 1117, Song China); Formulas for Universal Relief (普濟方, 1406, Ming China).

As the citizens' life and body are the object of medical practice, it should ultimately protect the citizens' right of health. For this reason, medical practice possesses characteristics of non-profit and public and such special characteristics caused heavy regulations in the medical industry as exemplified by medical advertisements. For advancement of market economy, the government has been moving toward relaxing regulations in the medical industry and this trend can be shown in medical advertisements. Moreover, as a type of commercial advertisements, medical practitioners should be able to express their freedom of expression and freedom to occupation. From the perspective of patients who are medical consumers, they need access to information to locate appropriate medical practitioners and institutions for their symptoms. Therefore, medical advertisements can help realize the patients' right to know. This study will first analyze the general theories behind the necessity of medical advertisements and details of regulations, then analyze the issues from the cases of the supreme court and the constitutional court that are related to dental medical advertisements.
