The automated demand response (DR) program encourages consumers to participate in grid operation by reducing power consumption or deferring electricity usage at peak time automatically. However, successful deployment of the automated DR program sphere needs careful assessment of appliances load profile (ALP). To this end, the recent method estimates frequency, consistency, and peak time consumption parameters of the daily ALP to compute their potential score to be involved in the DR event. Nonetheless, as the daily ALP is subject to varying with respect to the DR time ALP, the existing method could lead to an inappropriate estimation; in such a case, inappropriate appliances would be selected at the automated DR operation that effected a consumer comfort level. To address this challenge, we propose a more proper method, in which all the three parameters are calculated using ALP that overlaps with DR time, not the total daily profile. Furthermore, evaluation of our method using two public residential electricity consumption data sets, i.e., REDD and REFIT, shows that our energy management systems (EMS) could properly match a DR target. A more optimal selection of appliances for the DR event achieves a power consumption decreasing target with minimum comfort level reduction. We believe that our approach could prevent the loss of both utility and consumers. It helps the successful automated DR deployment by maintaining the consumers' willingness to participate in the program.

Carbon nanomaterials such as fullerene, carbon nanotube and graphene are representative nanomaterials and widely used in various fields. Carbon nanomaterials can be exposed to environments during their production, usage and disposal, spreading to different systems and posing a great threat to various ecological receptors. Researches are conducted in order to determine the possibility of groundwater exposure to carbon nanomaterials due to their release and passage through soils. If soils can play a significant role in limiting the transport of carbon nanomaterials, the possibility of groundwater exposure to carbon nanomaterials can be reduced greatly. This review paper presented the research works performed for the mobility of carbon nanomaterials in soil media. Also, the paper provided the factors affecting the transport of carbon nanomaterials in soil media along with the DLVO theory/colloid filtration theory/transport model, which are used to describe the transport of carbon nanomaterials in soil media. Recently, production of carbon nanomaterials and their commercial and environmental applications increase rapidly in Korea. Therefore, researches regarding the fate and transport of domestic carbon nanomaterials in soil environments should be performed in various environmental conditions.
Three degrees of freedom plus(3DoF+) and six degrees of freedom(6DoF) system, which supports a user's movements in graphical and natural scene-based virtual reality, requires multiple high-quality and high-resolution videos to provide immersive media. Previous video quality assessment methods are not appropriate for the 3DoF+ and 6DoF system assessment because different types of artifacts occur in these systems which are not shown in the traditional video compression. This paper provides the performance assessments of several quality assessment methods in 3DoF+ system. Furthermore, this paper presents a super metric, which combines multiple quality assessment methods, thereby it showed a higher correlation coefficient with the subjective quality assessment than the previous methods. Experimental results on 3DoF+ immersive video showed 0.4513 gain on correlation coefficient with subjective quality assessment compared to that of peak signal-to-noise ratio(PSNR).

Due to a development of a modem technology as Power Line Communication(PLC) over 200 Mbps, the high-speed multi-media data trasmission could be currently possible. The strength of the PLC has no more additional wiring work. PLC has also possible to high quality data transmission with currently electrical cable. It has a various strong point campare with existing wire and wireless communication technologies. In This paper we develop a high quality media transmitter-receiver based on merging the HomePlug AV, which is 200 Mbps class PLC technology and HDMI Interface technology. The video function was used for the VEDEO TEST GENERATOR in order to a property valuation. Smart Live 6 software were used for the assessment of audio property. As the result of measurement of the HD class images by capturing from the receiver of the PLC, the quality of images couldn't be confirm any deterioration, which has compared with original reflections. In case of audio part as the result of confirmation of the Phase, Magnitude, it has been confirmed that over 90% of nomal transmition and receiving of acoustic signal. It can be possible to have HD class Media service through the PLC.
This study was performed to assess airborne fungi concentrations during fall in eight subway stations in Seoul, Korea. The purpose of this study was to investigate appropriate culture media and evaluate factors affecting airborne fungi concentrations. Results indicated that airborne fungi concentrations showed log-normal distribution. Thus, geometric mean (GM) and geometric standard deviation (GSD) were calculated. The GM of airborne fungi concentrations cultured on malt extract agar (MEA) media was 466 $cfu/m^3$ (GSD 3.12; Range 113~4,172 $cfu/m^3$) and the GM of concentrations cultured on DG18 media was 242 $cfu/m^3$ (GSD 4.75; Range 49~6,093 $cfu/m^3$). Both of GM values exceeded 150 $cfu/m^3$, the guideline of World Health Organization (WHO). There was no significant difference between two fungi concentrations cultured on MEA and DG18 media, respectively. Two factors, such as relative humidity and depths of subway stations were significantly related to airborne fungi concentrations. It is recommended that special consideration should be given to deeper subway stations for improvement of indoor air quality.

Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate how a program using video-audio media will affect the knowledge level and compliance of the sick role of patients admitted for coronary angiography. Method: A non-equivalent control group non-synchronized design was used. Subjects were selected from patients admitted to the internal ward of a hospital in B city for coronary angiography between July 1 and September 31, 2010. Twenty subjects were assigned to the control and experimental group, respectively. Video-audio media developed by the authors was used as the experimental tool. The effects of the program were analyzed using a knowledge assessment tool and questionnaire for compliance of the sick role. The SPSS/WIN 14.0 program was used for data analysis. Result: The first hypothesis that the "experimental group receiving the program using video-audio media will report a higher level of knowledge compared to the control group" was supported. The second hypothesis that the "experimental group that received the program using video-audio media will report a higher level of compliance of sick role" was supported. Conclusion: The program using video-audio media was effective in enhancing patients' knowledge about the disease and compliance of the sick role. Thus, it can be an effective nursing intervention for patients with coronary artery disease.
Objectives: This study intends to evaluate the ecological risk of lead (Pb), arsenic (As), and their compounds according to the 2010 action plan on inventory and management for national priority chemicals and provide calculations of risks to the environment. By doing so, we aim to inform risk management measures for the target chemicals. Methods: We conducted species sensitivity distribution (SSD) analysis using the collected ecotoxicity data and obtained predicted no effect concentrations (PNECs) for the in-water environment using a hazardous concentration of 5% (HC5) protective of most species (95%) in the environment. Based on the calculated PNECs for aquatic organisms, PNEC values for soil and sediment were calculated using the partition coefficient. We also calculated predicted exposure concentration (PEC) from nation-wide environmental monitoring data and then the hazard quotient (HQ) was calculated using PNEC for environmental media. Results: Ecological toxicity data was categorized into five groups and five species for Pb and four groups and four species for As. Based on the HC5 values from SSD analysis, the PNEC value for aquatic organisms was calculated as 0.40 ㎍/L for Pb and 0.13 ㎍/L for As. PNEC values for soil and sediment calculated using a partition coefficient were 77.36 and 350.50 mg/kg for Pb and 24.20 and 112.75 mg/kg for As. The analysis of national environmental monitoring data showed that PEC values in water were 0.284 ㎍/L for Pb and 0.024 ㎍/L for As, while those in soil and sediment were respectively 45.9 and 44 mg/kg for Pb, and 11.40 and 19.80 mg/kg for As. Conclusions: HQs of Pb and As were 0.70 and 0.18 in water, while those in soil and sediment were 0.59 and 0.13 for Pb and 0.47 and 0.18 for As. With HQs <1 of lead and arsenic in the environment, their ecological risk levels are found to be low.
The priorities of siting restriction was derived from quantification of environmental hazard according to industrial classification based on 'Chemical Ranking and Scoring System(CRS)' which is handling the discharge characteristics of 31 industrial classifications regulated from locating at 'Industrial Complex in Rural Area(ICRA)'. CRS that is utilizing the data of 'Pollutant Release and Transfer Registers(PRTR)' is applied to determine human health risk and ecological risk which are calculated by discharged amount and materials $LC_{50}$ according to water, soil and air media based on industrial classification. From this process, exposure assessment and toxicity assessment for integrating the adverse environmental impact and the mitigation effect of environmental risk according to the development of environmental technologies into establishing the rational landuse management method for the 31 industrial classifications regulated from locating at ICRA was analyzed. From the assessment result of the siting restriction removal at ICRA for 31 industrial classifications, based on 2012 year reference 6 industries that includes Manufacture of Guilt Coloration Surface Processing Steel Materials, Manufacture of Biological Product, Manufacture of Smelting Refining and Alloys of Copper, Dyeing and Finishing of Fibers and Yarns, Manufacture of Other Basic Iron and Steel n.e.c., Rolling Drawing and Extruding of Non-ferrous Metals n.e.c. are calculated as having relatively lower environmental hazards, thus it is judged that the siting restriction mitigation at ICRA is possible for the 6 industrial classifications that are not discharging the specific hazardous water contaminants during manufacturing process.
The purpose of this research provides the basic solution about waterfront and promotes the inherent capability, that recoveries both the river and gives the river for water quality to improve plan. In this study, we compare and analysis the slope contact between filter media of the porous concrete and planting concrete. As a result, when appling the porous concrete, it can show the removal efficiency is SS 53%, BOD 39%, COD 20%, T-N 36% T-P 42% and appling planting concrete is SS 58%, BOD42%, COD 26%, T-N 45%, T-P 53%. Therefore, planting concrete is higher removal efficiency (SS 5%, BOD 3%, COD 6%, T-N 9%, T-P 10%) than porous concrete. The experimental results show that using purification filter media on planting concrete is better than on porous concrete, because it have the higher purification filter efficiency. The quality of water improves vegetarian concrete, that can expect the increase of the self-purification capacity and improve the spectacle for providing the waterside and planting of planting concrete. In addition, it can complete and apply the research if having enough time for experimentation and accurate study for mechanism by plant, we can use both planting concrete filter media and the existing dike. As a result, we can gain the better quality of the water of the city's rivers and good economic value, that is spread by all cities applicable technologies. So it can be expected using well for future.
Hydro-environmental impact assessments (HEIA) in tunnel constructions have been performed through various methods including preliminary investigations, field tests, numerical simulations, and monitoring. Specially, it is very important to evaluate quantitatively groundwater inflows into tunnels as well as drawdowns caused by tunnelling. Obvious definitions between porous and fractured rock media in hvdrogeologic properties of study regions must be needed to execute HEIA for rational tunnel construction in fractured bedrocks. In this paper, we propose a HEIA on tunnel constructions in fractured rocks media resulted from various hydrogeologic field tests and numerical models on given regions and determination of systematic order, i.e. the technical road map (TRM) of HEIA. These systematic HEIAs are expected to be usefully applied to base data in tunnel construction in fractured rock media.
