NATM 터널의 굴착면 전방 지질 평가를 위한 대구경 심발공 탐사 시스템 개발 및 적용 사례 (Development and Application of Large-diameter Cut-hole Exploration System for Assessment of the Geological Condition beyond NATM Tunnel Face)

  • 최근 도시화가 가속화됨에 따라 지하공간 개발을 위한 굴착공사가 지속적으로 이루어지고 있으며, 암반 굴착 시 해당 구간의 지질 상태를 정확히 파악하는 것은 안전한 시공을 위해 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 터널 발파 진동을 저감시키기 위해 대구경 무장약공을 천공하는 MSP 공법을 활용하여 굴착면 전방의 지질 특성을 파악하기 위해 천공경로 및 지반탐사 복합시스템을 개발하였다. 제안된 탐사 시스템은 NATM 터널 공사를 위해 천공된 대구경 심발공을 활용해 굴착면 전방 50 m 구간의 지질 정보를 획득할 수 있다는 큰 장점이 있다. 또한, 제안된 탐사 시스템을 현장에 적용하고 대구경 무장약공 내부를 모니터링하여 터널 굴착면 전방의 지질 상태를 평가한 사례를 소개한다.

Study on bearing characteristic of rock mass with different structures: Physical modeling

  • In this paper, to study the stability of surrounding rock during roadway excavation in different rock mass structures, the physical model test for roadway excavation process in three types of intact rock mass, layered rock mass and massive rock mass were carried out by using the self-developed two-dimensional simulation testing system of complex underground engineering. Firstly, based on the engineering background of a deep mine in eastern China, the similar materials of the most appropriate ratio in line with the similarity theory were tested, compared and determined. Then, the physical models of four different schemes with 1000 mm (height) × 1000 mm (length) × 250 mm (width) were constructed. Finally, the roadway excavation was carried out after applying boundary conditions to the physical model by the simulation testing system. The results indicate that the supporting effect of rockbolts has a great influence on the shallow surrounding rock, and the rock mass structure can affect the overall stability of the surrounding rock. Furthermore, the failure mechanism and bearing capacity of surrounding rock were further discussed from the comparison of stress evolution characteristics, distribution of stress arch, and failure modes in different schemes.

화강 풍화암지반의 터널굴착에 따른 변형예측 (The prediction of deformation according to tunnel excavation in weathered granite)

  • 터널과 같은 지하공동 구조물의 역학적 거동은 지반의 복잡성 및 불확실성으로 인해 예측이 매우 어렵다. 터널굴착에 따른 거동 예측은 주로 모형실험이나 수치해석을 이용한 방법을 사용한다. 그러나 모형실험은 현장조건을 재현하기 어렵고, 수치해석 또한 적합한 구성 모델의 선정과 입력인자를 구하기가 매우 힘들다. 본 연구는 국내 화강암 풍화토 지반에 건설되는 터널의 천단침하와 내공변위에 대한 계측자료와 RMR을 근거로 하여 회귀분석방법을 사용하여 천단침하와 내공변위를 예측하였다. 계측자료를 분석한 결과 터널 굴착에 따른 천단침하는 굴착 초기인 약 20일 이내에 총 변위 변화량의 약 70~80%가 발생되었다. 천단침하와 내공변위를 예측한 결과, 지수함수가 대수함수보다 비교적 계측값에 잘 일치하였다. 또한 RMR값과 각 단면의 변위를 비교하여 상관관계식을 얻었다.

  • This paper presents a disturbance observer based on an $H_{\infty}$ controller synthesis for the trajectory control of a hydraulic excavator. Compared to conventional robot manipulators driven by electrical motors, the hydraulic excavator has more nonlinear and coupled dynamics. In particular, the interactions between an excavation tool and the materials being excavated are unstructured and complex. In addition, its operating modes depend on working conditions, which make it difficult to not only derive the exact mathematical model but also design a controller systematically. In this study, the approximated linear model obtained through off-line system identification is used as nominal plant model for a disturbance observer. A disturbance observer based tracking controller which considers the effect of disturbance and model uncertainty is synthesized in $H_{\infty}$ frameworks. Simulation results are used to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed control scheme.

  • The spacer, which is located between the bucket and the arm of an excavator, has a role in preventing damage to the excavator arm during excavation work. When the durability of the spacer is increased, the lifetime of the arm can be extended and the processing costs can be reduced. To increase the durability of the spacer, tungsten carbide (WC) coating was applied on the surface of a spacer using the plasma transferred arc (PTA) process. The confirm the durability, a wear test using a pin-on disk type of wear testing machine was done under the given conditions and the wear amount on the surface of a tested specimen was measured using reflective digital holography. The results were compared with that of ALPHA-STEP.

  • The study on mechanical behavior of the structure at the site includes experimental method and numerical analysis method. Experimental method is categorized into true-scale test and laboratory model test. A laboratory model test is to monitor the failure mechanism with a model simulated similar with a real ground so as to identify the quantitative result, while a true-scale model test is the approach which enables to identify the potential problems that may occur with a simulated construction situation similar with a real site circumstance. Thus this study was intended to carry out the experimental test of non open-cut excavation by pipe roof method which is mostly common in domestic sites. as well as was aimed at identifying the ground behavior occurred during pipe penetration using laboratory model test. Appropriate reduced-scale model was selected, taking into account of domestic geological characteristics and operation characteristics of traditional and high-speed rail trains and the qualitative evaluation of displacement was carried out based on a certain ground loss volume depending on excavation after categorizing trackbed settlement pattern by depth of top soil.

  • This research aimed at to develop a quantitative assesment technique which uses the measured displacements at the excavated plane during tunnel construction. Tunnel structure has a feature with long extents comparing to the excavated section so that the tunnel safety assesment is more effective by using the measured data of displacements. Tunnel structures show different structural behaviors due to the mechanical characteristics of ground and supports themselves, excavation methods and construction methods of supports, etc. From this point of view, it has very important meanings on the practical aspects that the measured data from the construction cite represent the features of the interaction effects between ground and supports as they are. In this study, both the stress state and the properties of surrounding ground are analyzed by newly incorporated feedback analysis technique which can use the measured displacements directly. Then, the stress state and the properties of ground will be used to obtain the strain distribution of surrounding ground. Finally the tunnel safety can be assessed by comparing the estimated strain through the analysis to the allowable strain of ground quantitatively.

지반 보강과 배수를 위한 이중기능 록볼트 성능 검증에 관한 연구 (Study on performance verification of dual-purpose rockbolt for reinforcement and drainage)

  • 록볼트는 지하굴착 중 불연속 암반을 보강하기 위하여 흔히 사용하는 대표적인 지보재 중의 하나이다. 용수가 많은 현장에서는 굴착 시공성을 개선하고 록볼트의 정착효과를 증진하기 위하여 별도의 Drain pipe 설치하게 된다. Drain pipe는 배수경로를 제공하여 작업성 개선에 효과적이지만 지반보강효과를 기대하기 어렵고, 다수 설치 시 불연속 암반의 교란을 증가시키며, 공사비 증가 요인이 된다. 이러한 문제를 개선하기 위하여 암반의 보강과 배수를 겸한 Dual purpose rockbolt (DPR)를 개발하였다. DPR은 신속하고, 경제적으로 암반의 역학적 수리적 안정성을 개선할 수 있었다. FRP (유리섬유 보강 플라스틱)와 steel을 이용한 2가지 DPR을 개발하여 역학적 수리적 성능을 검토하였고, 시공성과 안정성을 분석하였다.

  • 암반구조물의 파괴는 초기응력의 크기, 무결암의 강도 그리고 단층이나 절리와 같이 암반 내에 존재하는 불연속면의 상태에 의해 좌우된다. 일반적으로 고심도에 건설되는 암반구조물의 경우 높은 현지응력과 공동 굴착에 따른 유도응력으로 인해 공동 경계면에서 스폴링이나 슬래빙과 같은 취성파괴가 발생할 수 있다. 최근 고심도에 건설되는 암반구조물이 증가함에 따라 취성파괴의 발생사례가 증가하고 있으며, 더욱이 국내의 저심도 구간에서도 스폴링 현상이 보고되어 취성파괴에 대한 연구의 필요성이 요구되고 있다. 그러나 아직까지 취성파괴에 대해 명확하게 규명되지 않아 본 보고에서 취성파괴현상을 규명하기 위해 수행되었던 기존 연구결과를 중심으로 취성파괴와 그 특징에 대하여 요약정리하였다.

Shear strength behaviors of grouts under the blasting induced vibrations

  • Umbrella Arch Method (UAM) often employed in the tunnel construction under poor rock mass conditions in Korea. Insertion of steel pipes at the periphery of the tunnel and infiltration of grouts along the pipes into the rock masses increases tunnel stability. There are two major effects of grouts expected at the tunnel face: 1) increase of face stability by enhancing the frictional resistance of discontinuities and 2) decrease of permeability along the rock masses. Increase of resistance and decrease of permeability requires a certain curing time for the grout. In Korea, we require 24 hours for curing of grout, which means no progress of excavation for 24 hours after infiltration of grouts. This step delays the tunnel construction sequences. To eliminate such inefficiency, we propose MTG (Method for Tunnel construction using Grouting technology), which uses extended length of steel pipes (14 m) compared to conventional pipe roof method (12 m). The merit of MTG is the reduction of curing time. Because of the approximately 2 m extension of the length of steel pipe, blasting can be done after infiltration of grouting. For this paper, we conducted experiments on the shear strength behaviors of grout infilled rock joint with elapsing of curing time and blasting induced vibration. The results show that blasting induced vibration under MTG does not influence the mechanical features of grout material, which indicates no influence on the mechanical behaviors of grout, contributing to the stability of tunnels during excavation. This result indicates that MTG is a cost effective and fast construction method for tunneling in Korea.
