In this paper, we consider the resource allocation and offloading decisions of device-to-device (D2D) cooperative UAV-assisted mobile edge computing (MEC) system, where the device with task request is served by unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) equipped with MEC server and D2D device with idle resources. On the one hand, to ensure the fairness of time-delay sensitive devices, when UAV computing resources are relatively sufficient, an optimization model is established to minimize the maximum delay of device computing tasks. The original non-convex objective problem is decomposed into two subproblems, and the suboptimal solution of the optimization problem is obtained by alternate iteration of two subproblems. On the other hand, when the device only needs to complete the task within a tolerable delay, we consider the offloading priorities of task to minimize UAV computing resources. Then we build the model of joint offloading decision and power allocation optimization. Through theoretical analysis based on KKT conditions, we elicit the relationship between the amount of computing task data and the optimal resource allocation. The simulation results show that the D2D cooperation scheme proposed in this paper is effective in reducing the completion delay of computing tasks and saving UAV computing resources.
To assess functional properties of chungkugjang (CK), a traditional Korean soyfood, fermented with black beans at $42^{\circ}C$ for 72 hrs, some biological activities of methanol extract of CK and the changes in phytoesterogen (daidzein, genistein) contents during fermentation were investigated. The methanol extract of CK (MEC) prepared with soybean had no or a little antibacterial activity. MEC prepared with black bean inhibited the growth of all bacteria tested, and MEC of small black bean was higher in antibacterial activity than that of large black bean. Hydrogen-donating activities of MEC of large and small black bean were 76.4 and 75.5%, respectively, which were higher than that of soybean being 67.3%. Nitrite-scavenging activity was found to be above 90% in all MECs tested as compared with control group. MEC showed strong antioxidant activities against both peroxidation of linoleic acid and $H_{2}O_{2}-FeSO_{4}-induced$ peroxidation of rat liver homogenate. The antioxidant activities were high in the order of small black bean, large black bean and soybean. Contents of genistein and daidzein were gradually increased during fermentation of CK. The isoflavones were higher in black bean CK than in soybean CK and higher in large black bean CK than in small black bean CK. In black beans genistein content was about twice as much of daidzein.
Mucoepidermoid carcinomas (MECs) arising within the jaws as primary central bony lesions are termed central MECs. Central MECs are extremely rare, comprising 2-3% of all mucoepidermoid carcinomas. We herein report a rare case of central MEC of the maxilla in a 52-year-old male whose plain radiographs showed a "ground glass" pattern and computed tomographic images, a hypodense mass with numerous calcifications. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of central MEC showing a "ground glass" appearance.
The purpose of this paper is to review our experience with mucoepidermoid carcinoma(MEC), a rare tumour in minor salivary glands, in a paediatric patients. 15-year-old boy was noted to have a irregular round mass appearing atthe soft palate just to the right of the mid-line. A computed tomographic(CT) scan showed a palatal mass limited to soft palate with no bony erosion. The lesion was curetted and debulked. Pathology was reported as an intermediate-grade mucoepidermoid carcinoma, and the patient was considered to radiation therapy institution for further treatment. To date, patients remain free of disease. Wide local excision is the treatment of choice for low to intermediate grade MEC of the minor salivary glands in paediatric patients.
With the increasing number of mobile device users worldwide, utilizing mobile edge computing (MEC) devices close to users for content caching can reduce transmission latency than receiving content from a server or cloud. However, because MEC has limited storage capacity, it is necessary to determine the content types and sizes to be cached. In this study, we investigate a caching strategy that increases the hit ratio from small base stations (SBSs) for mobile users in a heterogeneous network consisting of one macro base station (MBS) and multiple SBSs. If there are several SBSs that users can access, the hit ratio can be improved by reducing duplicate content and increasing the diversity of content in SBSs. We propose a Deep Q-Network (DQN)-based caching strategy that considers time-varying content popularity and content redundancy in multiple SBSs. Content is stored in the SBS in a divided form using maximum distance separable (MDS) codes to enhance the diversity of the content. Experiments in various environments show that the proposed caching strategy outperforms the other methods in terms of hit ratio.
Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus pseudintermedius Z0118SP0130 was isolated from eye specimen of a companion dog in South Korea. The complete genome of Z0118SP0130 consisted of a 2,663,277 bp chromosome and there was no plasmid. The strain was identified as the sequence type 45 and contained a mecA gene which comprised of staphylococcal cassette chromosome mec type Vb (5C2&5). Antimicrobial resistance to erythromycin, clindamycin, quinupristin-dalfopristin, trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, mupirocin, oxacillin, streptomycin, and gentamicin was observed in the strain.
In an attempt to determine the correlations between the input acoustic impedance and the variations of the physical characteristics of the terminal elements, a five-lobe branched tube-network is mathematically developed and experimentally simulated using a lung simulator. The model takes into account some realistic conditions such as varying cross-sectional areas, flexible wall properties and branching. The effects of airway constrictions expressed by lobe stiffness variations on the impedance are determined for a range of frequencies up to 256 Hz. It is concluded that the developed model is capable of non-invasively predicting various physiological changes in the airway passages.
This paper presents the magnetic equivalent circuit analysis of a double-excited, two-degree-of-freedom (DOF) motor. The double-excited, 2-DOF motor is a laminated structure, making it easy to manufacture and giving it simple operating principles. We explain the structure of the 2-DOF motor and analyze the static characteristics using a magnetic equivalent circuit (MEC) to reduce analysis time. The feasibility of MEC analysis was confirmed by experimental results of the tilting, panning motion. We also confirmed the occurrence of holding torque in every motion.

The objectives of this study were to determine the antibiotypes, SCCmec subtypes, PVL carriage, and genetic diversity of MRSA strains from a tertiary hospital. Sixty-six MRSA strains were selected randomly (2003, 2004, and 2007) and tested for the Panton-Valentine leukocidin gene, mecA gene, and SCCmec type via a PCR. The antibiograms were determined using a standard disc diffusion method, and the genetic diversity of the isolates was determined by PFGE. Thirty-four antibiograms were obtained, with 55% of the 66 strains exhibiting resistance to more than 4 antimicrobials. All the isolates remained susceptible to vancomycin, and low resistance rates were noted for fusidic acid (11%), rifampicin (11%), and clindamycin acid (19%). The MRSA isolates that were multisensitive (n=12) were SCCmec type IV, whereas the rest (multiresistant) were SCCmec type III. Only two isolates (SCCmec type IV) tested positive for PVL, whereas all the isolates were mecA-positive. The PFGE was very discriminative and subtyped the 66 isolates into 55 pulsotypes (F=0.31-1.0). The multisensitive isolates were distinctly different from the multidrug-resistant MRSA. In conclusion, no vancomycin-resistant isolate was observed. The Malaysian MDR MRSA isolates were mostly SCCmec type III and negative for PVL. These strains were genetically distinct from the SCCmec type IV strains, which were sensitive to SXT, tetracycline, and erythromycin. Only two strains were SCCmec IV and PVL-positive. The infections in the hospital concerned were probably caused by multiple subtypes of MRSA.
A modified output error method developed by the authors are presented, and an example of its application on an air accident is shown. In order to obtain the aerodynamic coefficients of an aircraft, the maximum likelihood method and the output error method are often employee However, in the case of an air accident, there is only one flight data available. The newly devised modified output error method by authors seems to have shown fine performance. By employing this method and processing the flight data, unstational aerodynamic coefficients are obtained. The contradiction between the recorded flight data and the circumstantial evidence was reasonably explained.
