This paper aims at the development of shoes measuring the performance of walking or running, which is equipped with electronic devices. In the in-sole of the shoes, a piezoelectric sensor is inserted for measuring the number of steps and the speed of walking. The measured signals are processed by the one-chip microprocessor and related electronic devices. Using the data, the momentum and calories of walking and running are calculated, and the results are transmitted to the displaying system composed of LCD by the RF telecommunication system.
Walking loads are usually considered as nodal loads in the finite element vibration analysis of structures subjected to walking loads. Since most of the walking loads act on elements not nodes, the walking loads applied on the elements should be converted to the equivalent nodal walking loads. This paper begins with measuring walking loads by using a force plate equipped with load cells and investigates the characteristics of the walking loads with various walking rates. It is found that the walking loads are more affected by walking rates than other parameters such as pedestrian weight, type of footwear, surface condition of floor etc. The measured walking loads are used as input loads for a finite element model of walking induced vibration. Finally, this paper proposes the equivalent nodal walking loads that are converted from the walking loads acting on elements based on finite element shape functions. And the proposed equivalent walking loads are proved to be applicable for efficient analysis of floor vibration induced by walking loads.
The objective of this study was to examine the effects of auditory biofeedback training and kicking training on walking times in patients with hemiplegia to determine if the effects of such training would be maintained even after stopping the intervention. Thirty hemiplegia patients were selected and randomly assigned to a control group of 10 patients to receive general exercise treatment; an auditory biofeedback training group of 10 patients to receive auditory biofeedback training, along with general exercise; and a kicking training group to receive kicking training, along with general exercise. All the patients received their respective training 12 times in total, three times per week for four weeks. In addition, all those in the control and experimental groups received the same general exercise treatment 12 times in total, three times per week for four weeks, and underwent follow-up tests thereafter. The patients' 10m walking times were measured using a stopwatch. The significance was analyzed using repeated-ANOVAs. In cases where there were interactions between measuring times and groups, in each group were examined using repeated-ANOVAs. In cases where there were differences, post-hoc tests were conducted using repeated of contrast test. The 10m walking times of the control and experimental groups were significant differences in 10m walking times were shown between measurement times(p<.05), and significant differences in the interactions between measuring times and groups were shown between the groups(p <.05). However, no significant differences in 10m walking times were shown between the groups(p>.05). The auditory biofeedback training group showed significant decreases in walking times four weeks after the beginning of the intervention(p<.05) and significant increases eight weeks after the beginning of the intervention(p<.05). The kicking training group showed significant decreases in walking time four weeks after the beginning of the intervention(p<.05) and maintained the walking times without showing any significant differences eight weeks after the beginning of the intervention(p>.05). The walking speeds of only the kicking training group were maintained until eight weeks after the beginning of the intervention.
In this paper, the relationship among the vertical acceleration, measuring points and walking patterns is analyzed. To measure acceleration, the acceleration measurement unit and communication board is constructed. It uses MEMS accelerometer ADXL-202 that detects 2-axis acceleration simultaneously. It is shown by the experiment test that the walking pattern is recognized and walking step is detected at easy when acceleration measurement unit is mounted on leg.. This results can be directly utilized in designing the personal navigation system with low-cost inertial sensor.
Purpose : The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of circuit class training on the performance of locomotor tasks in chronic stroke. Methods : The study included 45 patients with chronic stroke randomly divided into experimetal group and control group. Both groups participated in exercise classes three times a week for 8weeks. The experimental group had 10 workstation of circuit class designed to improve walking. The control group practiced fitness exercises by equipment in health center. Walking performance was assessed by measuring walking speed(timed 10-meter walk and TUG), GAITRite analysis and peak vertical ground reaction force through the affected foot during walking. Results : The experimental group demonstrated significant improvement(p<.05) compared with the control group in 10-meter walking and vertical ground reaction force after training. The experimental group showed significant improvements in the walking velocity and cadence by GAITRite system(p<.05). Conclusion : Task- oriented circuit class training leads to improvements in locomotor function in chronic stroke. Further studies are necessary to occur in usual environments to improve walking performance.
This paper researched the algorithm of robot's walking and action on the basis of robot studied and made at our laboratory and studied how to efficiently control the robot joints by developing wireless Digital Servo Motor using Zigbee Sensor Network Module which is using at wide part recently. I realized the stable walking by adopt Press Sensor at the bottom of robot foot to get stability of walking. Also I let the algorithm calculate the robot movement to make the joint motion and monitored the robot walk to its motion. At this Paper, I studied the method organizing the motion by the each robot walking and measuring the torque applying to the joint. And I also knew that it is possible to make its control and construct hardware more conveniently than them of the existing studied and controling 2Legs Walking Robot by applying it at walking robot and developing wireless servo motor by Zirbee Sensor Network.
This study is aimed to verify effects of Walking in treating hospitalized patients with low back pain in the Korean medicine hospital. The method of this study is choosing patients whose chief complaints were low back pain in the Korean medicine hospital in Gyeonggi Province. People who agreed to take Walking treatment were classified into experimental group and control group. Both experimental group and control group were treated with Korean medicine. In addition, experimental group performed Walking program more often. Changes of temperature difference taken by digital infrared thermal imaging(DITI) were used as measuring tools. The summary of this study's result is as in the following. There was significant difference in the experimental group which performed Walking treatments but not in the control group resulting from examining the change of temperature difference between left and right Yongchon. As known from the results above, Walking program is meaningful in curing the low back pain.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the walking behavior analysis methodology used in the previous studies, paying attention to the demand for empirical data collecting for urban and neighborhood planning. The preceding researches are divided into (1)Recording, (2) Surveys, (3)Statistical data, (4)Global positioning system (GPS) devices, and (5)Mobile Big Data analysis. Next, we analyze the precedent research and identify the changes of the walkability research. (1)being required empirical data on the actual walking and moving patterns of people, (2)beginning to be measured micro-walking behaviors such as actual route, walking facilities, detour, walking area. In addition, according to the trend of research, it is analyzed that the use of GPS device and the mobile big data are newly emerged.
