The objective of this research is to develop a measurement error model for sculptured surface in On-Machine Measurement(OMM) process based on a closed-loop configuration. The geometric error model of each axis of a vertical CNC machining center is derived using a 4$\times$4 homogeneous transformation matrix. The ideal locations of a touch-type probe for the sculptured surface measurement are calculated from the parametric surface representation and X-, Y- directional geometric errors of the machine. Also the actual coordinates of the probe are calculated by considering the pre-travel variation of a probe and Z-directional geometric errors. Then, the step-by-sep measurement error analysis method is suggested based on a closed-loop configuration of the machining center including workpiece and probe errors. The simulation study shows the simplicity and effectiveness of the proposed error modeling strategy.

The objective of this paper is to develop a knowledge assets measurement model in Korea. There are relatively many researches on measuring knowledge assets of an organization. These previous researches, however, lack of comprehensive view of knowledge management and view of Korean organizational culture. We surveyed and analyzed previous researches, and found common factors to measure knowledge assets. We developed an updated version of knowledge assets index. The developed model has been validated for its fitness with real data of Korean companies. The result of this research can be used as a measurement tool for knowledge assets of public institutions as well as private companies.

Flexibility is a competitive weapon in the changing environment. In order to pursue the flexibility, Korean manufacturing companies must define the flexibility dimension clearly, build the appropriate manufacturing infrastructures and measure the right flexibility performance indicators. This paper found out as follows. First, Korean manufacturing companies' flexibility strategy groups were formed three types. They are flexibility superior group, middle flexibility group and flexibility inferior group. Second, when different types of flexibility strategy group measured their performances, the degree of importance of flexibility performance indicators were different among groups. Third, when different types of flexibility strategy group were pursued, the different manufacturing methods such as product/process design technology, analysis technology, production system management technology and non technological factors were used. Lastly, when different types of flexibility strategy group were pursued, the actual flexibility performances were different among groups.

The purpose of this paper is to study the links between manufacturing strategy and change programs of manufacturing firms in Korea. The nature of our analysis is more descriptive than normative or confirmative. First, we investigate the linkage between manufacturing strategy, manufacturing capability, change programs and performance measurement systems. Secondly, we intend to explore an empirical typology of manufacturing strategy and change programs. The initial findings of the study are as follows: Linkage between manufacturing strategy and change programs of manufacturing firms was not apparent. Flexibility as a strategic priority is positively related to the innovative change programs. There are two distinctive strategies of manufacturing firms in Korea, namely, quality strategy and balanced strategy. We identified three types of change programs, which are incremental change, administrative innovation, and process innovation. Incremental change group has represented low factor score in the change program dimensions. The firms in administrative innovation group mainly depend on information systems and business reengineering. Korean manufacturing firms seem to pursue process improvement by trying simultaneously incremental change in the process, managerial process improvement, and a little bit of innovative change. Performance variable utilization of the firms are not significantly different along with manufacturing strategies and change programs. We found, however, learning and improvement performance dimension is significantly related to flexibility variables. Process innovation group marked high score in usage of learning and improvement indices. The findings of this study seem to have various implications on realigning the manufacturing strategy, change programs, and performance systems in Korean firms.

It is important to measure financial effect of six sigma projects accurately for successful implementation of six sigma in a company. However, researches on methods of six sigma financial effect measurement are relatively new. In this study, frequent error patterns of six sigma financial effect measurement are defined and accurate measurement methods are suggested. And a method of connecting six sigma financial effect to corporate income performance is also suggested which not only assures reliability of financial effect measurement but also helps to align with business strategy.

The existent system of management for Measurement of Safety Cost are not effective because of the data loss and time loss and occurrence of errors through manual calculation. Therefore, tile development of the software for measurement of safety cost can solve the problem through the systematic calculation for safety cost and converting the related data to database, and also can build the strategy of the investment of Safety cost through analysing and comparing with the past data in the database. As a part of development of the software of Measurement of Safety Cost which is appropriate for the domestic environment, this study is developing a software based on Noguji method, which is one of the methods of Measurement of Safety Cost, and to appraise the efficiency of the management of Measurement of Safety Cost we will implement and improve the software in the case of the domestic enterprises.

Recently, the next-generation advanced flow visualization techniques such as holographic PIV, aynni.c PIV, echo-PIV, micro/nano-PIV, and X-ray PIV have been introduced. These advanced mea-surement techniques have a big potential as the core technology for analyzing outmost thermo-fluid flows in future. They would be indispensable in solving complicated thermo-fluid flow problems not only in industrial fields such as automotive, space, electronics, aero- and hydro-dynamics. steel, and information engineering, but also in the research fields of medical science, bio-medical engineering, environmental and energy technology etc. Especially, NT (Nano Technology) and BT (Bio Technology) strongly demand these advanced measurement techniques, because it is impossible for conventional measurement methods to observe the nano- and bio-fluidic flow phenomena. In this article, the basic principle of these high-tech flow visualization techniques and their practical applications which cannot be resolved by conventional methods, such as blood flows in a micro-tube, in vivo analysis of micro-circulation, and flow around a living body are introduced as a blue ocean strategy.

Even though many projects of new development and redevelopment for information systems are invested, they are not taken care of from the perspective of administration and evaluation. Also, decision makers fall short of not only support the process to check alternatives and select an alternative for investment and but also provide necessary information so as to maximize the effects of investments. That is to say, the suggestion of general direction toward IT investment is debatable. Against this backdrop, we propose a value measurement model to manage information systems.

In this study, we employ the control patches, which have been created in previous photogrammetric projects, serving for the candidates of the control points that are likely to be found in the newly taken photos by utilizing image matching technique. Among others, the successful implementation of the above idea lies in the underlying factors: (1). Predicting the control patches and projecting them onto new photos; (2). Alignment of control patches with respect to the new photos; (3). Generating the equivalent ground elements of control patches versus the new photos for the purpose of correlation; (4). Developing effective matching methods and matching strategy; (5). Refining the exterior orientation parameters. What may show significance in this work comparing to traditional aerial-triangulation chain is that whenever at least three matched control patches succeed in a single photo, it follows that single photo orientation is applicable. The experiments suggest the potential efficiency of automatic control point measurement from control patch database and photo orientation by the proposed workflow.
