  • A lightscape is displayed by lots of luminance containing the wide range of lighting. The measurement of the luminance is limited because the brightness distribution was measured from a point in the existing methods. We used DSLR cameras to get information of the luminance efficiently and conveniently. The application of DSLR camera which easily provides images is widely used nowadays. We suggested the analysis of the luminance and measurement method of the scene from DSLR images using luminance distribution measurement technique.

  • Binocular-pair images obtained from two cameras can be used to calculate the three-dimensional (3D) world coordinate of a feature point. However, to apply this method, measurement accuracy of binocular vision depends on some structure factors. This paper presents an experimental study of measurement distance, baseline distance, and baseline direction. Their effects on camera reconstruction accuracy are investigated. The testing set for the binocular model consists of a series of feature points in stereo-pair images and corresponding 3D world coordinates. This paper discusses a method to increase the baseline distance of two cameras for enhancing the accuracy of a binocular vision system. Moreover, there is an inflexion point of the value and distribution of measurement errors when the baseline distance is increased. The accuracy benefit from increasing the baseline distance is not obvious, since the baseline distance exceeds 1000 mm in this experiment. Furthermore, it is observed that the direction errors deduced from the set-up are lower when the main measurement direction is similar to the baseline direction.

  • With the expansion of domestic hydrogen fuelling station infrastructure, it is necessary to secure reliability among hydrogen traders, and for this, technology to accurately measure hydrogen is important. In this study, 4 types of hydrogen trading volume calculation models (model 1-4) were presented to improve the accuracy of the hydrogen trading volume. In order to obtain the reference value of model 4, and experiment was conducted using a flow rate measurement equipment, and the error rate of the calculated value for each model was compared and analyzed. As a result, model 1 had the lowest metering accuracy, model 2 had the second highest metering accuracy and model 3 had the highest metering accuracy until a certain point. But after the point, model 2 had the highest metering accuracy and model 3 had the second metering accuracy.

  • Cutting tool life monitoring is a critical element needed for designing unmanned machining systems. This paper describes a tool wear measurement system using computer vision which repeatedly measures flank and crater wear of a single point cutting tool. This direct tool wear measurement method is based on an interactive procedure utilizing a image processor and multi-vision sensors. A measurement software calcultes 7 parameters to characterize flank and crater wear. Performance test revealed that the computer vision technique provides precise, absolute tool-wear quantification and reduces human maesurement errors.

  • Define a designated eye position (DEP) for the 3D displays is a critical issue. It shows the system performance without content issue. We use luminance meter to capture these optical characteristic and discuss between one point measurement, two points measurement and three points measurement situation.

  • It is important to estimate the possibility of recovery in physiologically damaged woody plant. It is suggested that C.E.R(cambial electrical resistance) might be a useful method to predict the permanent wilting point. D/A and A/D converter can be used to measure the C.E.R and it took only 10-20 msec for a measurement and the values were stable during this study. A computer could be used for the continual measurement of C.E.R. There were very big daily changes of C.E.R. was changed according to the changes of indoor temperature, but the phase was slightly different. It is reasoned that daily changes in C.E.R. is induced by the changes of water potential and cambial thickness. It was difficult to detect the changes of C.E.R. caused by changes in soil moisture under high soil water potential. Under low soil water potential, the changes in soil moisture under high soil water potential. Under low soil water potential, the changes of C.E.R. can be detected. After wilting, C.E.R. is increased very rapidly. When C.E.R. is not decreased by watering, it will be permanent wilting point. But it takes several days to confirm the permanent wilting point. To predict the possibility of recovery from wilting, the values of C.E.R. have no meaning. But the changes of C.E.R. are significant. Therefore we can predict the permant wilting point in woody plant by monitoring the change of C.E.R. by the computer.

  • Liquid acquisition device in the liquid propellant supply system is required to protect entrance of gas bubble into the propulsion system. The device exploits the capillary effect of micro-sized poles in a screen and supplies pure liquid-phase propellant to the propulsion system. The bubble point is the most important performance parameter in the design of a liquid acquisition device. In this paper, performance parameters affecting the bubble point are identified through literature survey, in order to develop the experimental setup for the bubble point measurement.

  • In the performance test for wind turbines of medium and large, The reference met-mast should be installed for measurement reference wind speed as IEC 61400-12-1 standards and design of booms for mounted an anemometer must be considered exactly. Boom-mounted cup anemometer are influenced by flow distortion of the mast and the boom. Therefore design of booms must be important so that flow distortion due to booms should be kept below 0.5%. But, in some cases at size of met-mast structure, the distance of boom from mast is longer then measurement of wind speed is impossible because of oscillation of boom-mounted anemometer. In this paper, We measured a wind speed at several point from mast and boom and we analyzed the error of wind speed at each point of measurement. Also, we will suggest a correction method using the data curve fitting about errors of wind speed between each point of mounted anemometer.

  • This study describes that the method of precision measurement of vehicle shape and the method of measurement the deformation that it is occurred the reason of accident using industrial photogrammatry. The curved shape is measured using the projection target which is able to acquire the point cloud data. 3D coordinates of the target were able to acquire through object picturing and analysis of coordinates. The acquired point cloud data was done 3D modeling to form the surface with TIN. Also, It able to interpretate a deformation surveying accurately the occurred parts of deformation, then can furnish to the analysis of traffic accident the precise and effective data.

  • In this paper, we propose a luminance correction algorithm based on measuring position for potable luminance measurement system. Measurement position and angle have an affect on the luminance value. We improve the position-based luminance measurement system using luminance correction algorithm based on the measuring angle. We analyze change of luminance value according to the measurement distance and angle from camera and light source. The certified point-luminance meter is used to evaluate a scene luminance measuring method using the image information of camera. Also, we derive an expression equation for evaluating luminance value from determined position. The performances of the proposed system are verified by using comparative experiments with the point-luminance meter using experimental signboard.
