  • NB-IoT(Narrow Band Internet of Things) is an emerging LPWAN(Low Power Wide Area Network) radio technology. NB-IoT has many advantages like low power, low cost, and high coverage. However low bandwidth and low sampling rates also lead to poor positioning accuracy. This paper proposed a solution to optimize positioning accuracy under the OTDOA(Observed Time Difference of Arrival) approach by utilizing MLR(Multiple Linear Regression) models. Through the MLR model to predict the influence degree of weather(temperature, humidity, light intensity and air pressure) on the arrival time of signal transmission to improve the measurement accuracy. The improvement of measurement accuracy can greatly improve IoT applications based on NB-IoT.

  • This paper deals with the experimental research, including measurement and analysis and field survey, on the causes of occurring noise defective gear boxes in hoist production plant in order to reduce the fraction of their occurrence. In this reserch following investigations are performed : measurement and gear-boxes, examination of each machining process of production, measurement and analysis of dimensional accuracy of each part, comparative vibration test with exchanging inaccurate parts. From these investigations, it is found that the machining accuracy of pinion gear tooth thickness is the most sensitive factor of noise problem. By maintaining the tooth thickness error within 0.05 mm tolerance in the gear cutting process, the fraction of noise defective gear-boxes are greatly reduced to less than 2%, where the usual rate of it has been 20-50%.

  • This paper presents an enhanced method of slit beam projection intended for the rapid measurement of 3-dimensional surface profiles of dies and molds. Special emphasis is given to optimizing the design of optical system so that the measuring accuracy can be maximized by adopting two-plane camera calibration together with sub-pixel image processing techniques. Finally, several measurement examples are discussed to demonstrate that an actual measuring accuracy of $\pm$ 0.2 mm can be achieved over the measuring range of 500 mm{\times}300mm{\times}200mm$.

  • Recently, the machine tools called multi-task machines, which mounted rotary axes on the table or spindle are used increasingly. Accordingly, multi-task machine tool takes a growing interest on the motion accuracy of feed drive system. In this study, measurement and diagnosis of motion errors ware attempted from circular pattern obtained by using DBB (Double ball bar) device. Those were obtained at both clockwise and counter clockwise motions in mutually perpendicularly intersecting three planes. The reliability of error measurement system for multi-task machine tool was verified by the direct test cutting.

  • Linear displacement accuracy is one of the most important factors that determine machine tool accuracy The laser interferometer has been usually recommended for the measurement of linear displacement accuracy. In this paper, microcomputer aided measurement and compensation system has been developed for the pitch error in a CNC machine tool. For accurate pitch error calculation. the analysis code for the pitch error has been also implemented according to the international standards (ISO). The PC based automatic compensation system for the pitch error is also implemented. A new algorithm for calculating optimum value for pitch error compensation is proposed, minimizing the deviation at each target points. The development system has been applied to a practical CNC maching center and the performance has been demonstrated.

  • An interferometer is the unique measurement device that can measure the range up to a few meters with sub-nano accuracy and this characteristic makes it as the important sensing device for the emerging nano-mechatronics technologies. The interferometer, however, is very sensitive to the environments such as temperature, humidity, sound noises, vibrations and air turbulences and these factors result in a few hundred nano meter errors. There have been many efforts to reduce these environmental errors. These efforts are mainly focused in reducing the errors inside the interferometer and improving the environments physically. The purpose of this paper is to improve accuracy of the interferometer by using measurement noise models and the Kalman filter algorithm.

  • The cute. race of CV(constant velocity) Joint is an important load-supporting automotive part, which transmits torque between the transmission gear box and driving wheel. The outer race is difficult to forge because its shape is very complicated and the required dimensional tolerances are very small. The forged CV Joint investigated in this study has six inner ball grooves requiring high operational accuracy. Therefore, the precise measurement of forged CV Joint is very important to guarantee the sound operation without noise and abnormal wear. In this study, unique in-situ measuring system designed specifically to measure the dimensional accuracy of six inner ball grooves of CV joint has been developed and implemented in shop environments. Newly developed system shows high measurement accuracy with simple operational sequence.

  • This research presents both system structure analysis to improve performance of 3D laser scanner, which has time of flight method, and scheme to minimize distance measurement errors during signal process. With the help of reference source, we minimized the instability of electronic signal processing time and possibility of distance measurement errors. Furthermore, it helps easy alignment and accuracy of system by using fiber delay line and coupler.

  • In this study, we measured burning rates of solid propellants which has various burning rates until 5000 psia, and we evaluated measurement accuracy of ultrasonic method by analyzing error of burning rates. Also, We compared result of burning rates by using ultrasonic method with strand burner method so that characteristics of two measurements method are evaluated.
