Dendrimers represent a new class of synthetic macromoleculcs characterized by a regularly branched treelike structure. Multiple branching yields a large number of chain ends that distinguish dendrimers from conventional star-like polymers and microgels. The azobenzene dendrimer is one of the dendrimeric macromolecules that include the azo-group exhibiting a photochromic character. Due to the presence of the charge transfer element of the azo-group and its rod-shaped structure, these compounds are expected to have potential interest in electronics and photoelectronics, especially in nonlinear optics. In the present paper, we give pressure stimulation to organic thin films and detect the induced displacement current. Functional photoisometrization organic molecular the photo-stimulus to organic monomolecular L films and LB films of dendrimer and 8A5H were performed. The 8A5H organic monolayer in case of pressure stimulus occurred that positive course but in case of the photo-stimulus compared positive and negative. It is assumed that generation forms of displacement current were measured when photo-stimulus for impression.
Spinning process is a chipless metal forming method for axis-symmetric parts, which is more economical, efficient and versatile method for producing parts than other sheet metal forming process such as stamping or deep drawing. The large-sized spindle for spinning machine is the equipment to ferm a high-pressure vessel into the demanded shape. The important problem in the spindle system fur spinning machines is to reduce and minimize the thermal effect by motor and bearings. In this study, the effect of heat generation of bearings for the large-sized spindle is considered. Temperature distribution and thermal displacement of the spindle system for spinning machine can be analyzed by using the finite element method. The numerical results are compared with the measured data. The results show that temperature distribution and thermal displacement can be reasonably estimated by using the finite element method and the three dimensional model.
Recently, the mechanical structures applied to many industrial products, especially in electronic products, appear to be miniaturized and complicated. This trend makes it difficult to analyze the stress distribution of those mechanical structures and generates new challenges for precise measurement of strain. In order to solve this measurement problem many optical measurement techniques have been suggested. Among those, the ESPI(Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry) has been considered as one of the most useful tools. But the shortage of recognition and difficulties of measurement have limited its industrial applications in spite of its excellent capabilities. Therefore in this study, not only the verification of the FEA result but the enhancement of industrial application of ESPI was tried by measuring the in-plane displacement of mechanical structure with ESPI, which is difficult to be measured with strain gauge.
Monolayers of lipids on a water surface have attracted much interest as models of biological membranes, but also as precursors of multilayer systems premising many technical applications. Until now, many methodologies have been developed in order to gain a better understand. Photoisomerization in monolayers of a novel azobenzene compound, azobenzene dendrimer, was investigated for the first time by means of the absorption spectrum and Maxwell displacement current (MDC) technique. Dendrimers are well-defined macromolecules exhibiting a tree-like structure, first derived by the cascade molecule approach. According to the absorption spectrum, trans-to-cis conversion ratio was estimated to the third generation of azobenzene dendrimer deposited onto a glass substrate. Temperature-dependent induced charge with trans-cis isomerization was also measured by means of MDC technique.
In situ stress changes at interfaces of ultrathin magnetic films were measured by means of a non-contact optical fiber bundle displacement detector. A bending of the substrate due to stress of a deposited film was detected in cantilever geometry. The highest sensitivity of 134 mV/$\mu$m for the displacement detector was realized with a help of computer simulation. The detector was applied to in situ stress measurements of Co/Pt and Ni/Pd magnetic multilayer films prepared on the glass substrates by dc magnetron sputtering. The detector turned out to have a submonolayer sensitivity that enables to observe coherent-to-incoherent transition in these mismatched multilayers and even detect the stress changes within the monoatomic coverage. This highly sensitive detector paves new way to probe the stress relaxation at an interface in ultrathin films.
Fire suppression using a water mist nozzle directly above an n-Heptane pool in a fire compartment with a door opening was numerically investigated using the Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS) for the purpose of application in nuclear power plants. Input parameters for the numerical simulation were determined by experimental measurements. Water mist was activated 10 s after the fire began. The sensitivity analysis was conducted for three input parameters: total number of cubic cells of 6032-2,926,400, droplets per second of 1000-500,000, and extinguishing coefficient of 0-100. In a new simple calibration method of this study, the extinguishing coefficient yielding the fire suppression time closest to that measured by experiments was found for use as the FDS simulation input value. When the water mist jet flow made contact with the developed fire, the heat release rate instantaneously increased, and then rapidly decreased. This phenomenon occurred with a displacement of the flame near the liquid fuel pool. Changing the configuration of the door opening with different aspect ratios and opening ratios had impact on the maximum value of the heat release rate due to the flame displacement.
Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the superimposition accuracy of digital modes for measuring tooth movement in patients requiring anterior retraction after premolar extraction based on the proposed reference regions. Methods: Forty patients treated with bilateral maxillary first premolar extraction were divided into two groups: moderate retraction (< 7.0 mm) and maximum retraction (≥ 7.0 mm). Central incisor displacement was measured using cephalometric superimpositions and three-dimensional (3D) digital superimpositions with the 3rd or 4th ruga as the reference point. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test and linear regression analyses were performed to test the significance of the differences and relationships between the two measurement techniques. Results: In the moderate retraction group, the central incisor anteroposterior displacement values did not differ significantly between 3D digital and cephalometric superimpositions. However, in the maximum-retraction group, significant differences were observed between the anteroposterior displacement evaluated by the 3rd ruga superimposition and cephalometric methods (p < 0.05). Conclusions: This study demonstrated that 3D digital superimpositions were clinically as reliable as cephalometric superimpositions in assessing tooth movements in patients requiring moderate retraction. However, the reference point should be carefully examined in patients who require maximum retraction.
