통합된 CAD/CAE 자동화 System을 이용한 구조 강도 해석 및 설계 최적화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Structural Analysis & Design Optimization Using Automation System Integrated with CAD/CAE)

  • In this paper, a CAB/CAE integrated optimal design system is developed, in which design and analysis process is automated using CAD/CAE softwares, for a complicated model for which parametric modeling provided by CAD software is not possible. CAD modeling process is automated by using UG/OPEN API function and UG/Knowledge Fusion provided by Unigraphics. The generated model is transferred to the analysis code ANSYS in parasolid format. Visual DOC software is used for optimization. The system is developed for PLS(Plasma Lighting System), which is a next generation illumination system that is used to illuminate stadium or outdoor advertizing panel. The PLS system consists of more then 20 components, which requires a lot of human efforts in modeling and analysis. The analysis for PLS includes static load, wind load and impact load analysis. As a result of analysis, it is found that the most critical component is a tilt assembly, which links lower & upper body assembly. For more reliable analysis, experiment is conducted using MTS and compared with the Finite element analysis result. The objective in the optimization is to minimize the material volume under allowable stresses. The design variables are three parameters in the tilt assembly that are chosen to be the most sensitive in stress values of twelve parameters. Gradient based method and RSM(Response Surface Method) are used for the algorithm and the results are compared. As a result of optimization, the maximum stress is reduced by 57%.

매립가스 마이크로가스터빈 배가스 분석에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study of the Landfill Gas Fuelled Micro Gas Turbine Exhaust Gas Analysis)

  • MGT fuelled by landfill gas was tested to asses feasibility of its exhaust gas application for $CO_2$ enrichment. The exhaust gas was analyzed during start-up and normal operation with different MGT load conditions. Due to the changes of air/fuel ratio and combustion mode, $O_2$, $CO_2$, CO and NOx concentration were varied within wide ranges during the MGT start-up. Especially, NOx emissioin level was increased up to 20.01 ppmv. Different tendencies of $O_2$, $CO_2$, CO and NOx concentrations were observed with MGT output changes. $O_2$ and CO concentrations were shown to be decreased and NOx and $CO_2$ concentrations were shown to have opposite trends. NOx emission level (0.8~1.88 ppmv) was very low compared to other types of combustion based power generation equipment. Unburned hydrocarbon emission level was substantially decreased with MGT load increase. Especially, $C_2H_4$ concentration was below the detection limit(0.2 ppmv) around the nominal load condition. The exhaust gas from landfill gas fuelled MGT system was shown to be feasible for $CO_2$ fertilization. Concentrations of major components were within or below the maximum allowable ranges.

연성하중해석 수행을 위한 인공위성 유한요소모델 보정 및 검증 (Finite Element Model Updating and Validation of Satellites for Coupled Load Analysis)

  • 중형 또는 대형 인공위성은 발사를 앞두고 발사체 회사와 함께 연성하중해석을 실시하여 위성설계를 최종 검증한다. 연성하중해석을 통해 얻어진 최대가속도, 최소간극, 최대하중은 인공위성의 설계하중과 비교하여 인공위성의 설계를 최종적으로 검증하게 된다. 이러한 연성하중해석의 신뢰도를 높이기 위해서는 인공위성 유한요소모델은 충분히 검증되어야 하는데, 발사 직전에 수행하는 정현파 진동시험결과에 맞춰 보정한다. 본 논문에서는 연성하중해석을 위한 유한요소모델의 보정 및 검증결과에 대해 기술한다.

국부 감육과 균열이 발생한 TP316 스테인리스강 배관의 파괴거동에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Failure Behavior of TP316 Stainless Steel Pipe with Local Wall Thinning and Cracking)

  • 원자력 배관 시스템은 엄격한 설계기준에 따라 제작 되었음에도 불구하고, 장기 사용에 따라 발생하는 감육 및 균열에 의한 파손 사례가 보고되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 스테인리스강 배관 시험체의 단조하중 및 반복하중 재하실험을 실시하여 국부 감육과 균열의 손상유무 및 0%, 35%, 75%의 손상정도가 배관의 파괴거동에 미치는 영향을 실험적으로 검토하였다. 본 실험에서는 실제 원자력 발전소에서 사용되고 있는 직경 3인치 TP316 스테인리스강 엘보우와 직관 배관을 대상으로 하여, 인위적으로 곡관부와 용접부에 0%, 35%, 75%의 국부적인 감육과 균열을 도입하고 20MPa의 내압을 가한 후 재하실험을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 국부 감육 및 균열의 손상정도가 파괴모드, 최대하중, 반복회수 및 에너지흡수율에 미치는 영향을 정량적으로 평가하였다. 그리고 휨 모멘트를 이용하여 ASME의 결함 허용기준을 평가하였다.

Behaviour and design of demountable steel column-column connections

  • This paper presents a finite element (FE) model for predicting the behaviour of steel column-column connections under axial compression and tension. A robustness approach is utilised for the design of steel column-column connections. The FE models take into account for the effects of initial geometric imperfections, material nonlinearities and geometric nonlinearities. The accuracy of the FE models is examined by comparing the predicted results with independent experimental results. It is demonstrated that the FE models accurately predict the ultimate axial strengths and load-deflection curves for steel column-column connections. A parametric study is carried out to investigate the effects of slenderness ratio, contact surface imperfection, thickness of cover-plates, end-plate thickness and bolt position. The buckling strengths of steel column-column connections with contact surface imperfections are compared with design strengths obtained from Australian Standards AS4100 (1998) and Eurocode 3 (2005). It is found that the column connections with maximum allowable imperfections satisfy the design requirements. Furthermore, the steel column-column connections analysed in this paper can be dismantled and reused safely under typical service loads which are usually less than 40% of ultimate axial strengths. The results indicate that steel column-column connections can be demounted at 50% of the ultimate axial load which is greater than typical service load.

무치악에 대한 최소 임플란트의 구조물의 3차원 유한요소 해석 (The 3-Dimensional Finite Element Analysis of Minimum Implant Structure for Edentulous Jaw)

  • The aim of the study is to interpret the distribution of occlusal force by 3-dimensional finite element analysis of ISP(Implant Supported Prosthesis) supported by minimum number of implant to restore the edentulous patients. For this study, the Astra Tech implant system is used. Geometric modeling for 6 and 4 fixture ISP group is performed with respect to the bone, implant and one piece superstructure, respectively. Implants are arbitrarily placed according to the anatomical limit of lower jaw and for the favorable distribution of occlusal force, which is applied at the end of cantilever extension of ISP with 30mm. Element type is tetrahedral for finite element model and the typical mechanical properties, Young's modulus and Poisson's ratio of each material, cortical, cancellous bone and implant material are utilized for the finite element analysis. From this study, we can see the distribution of equivalent stress equal to real situation and speculate the difference in the stress distribution in the whole model and at each implant fixture, From the analysis, the area of maximum stress is distributed on distal contact area between bone and fixture in the crestal bone. The maximum stress is 53MPa at the 0.2mm area from the bone-implant interface in the maximum side for 300N load condition for 4 fixture case, which is slightly less than the stress calculated from allowable strain. This stress has not been deduced to directly cause the loss of crestal bone around implant fixture, but the stress can be much reduced as the old peoples may have lower chewing force. Thus, clinical trial may be performed with this treatment protocol to use 4 fixtured ISP for old patients.

도로 하부 통과 배관의 주행 하중 속도에 따른 진동 특성 (Dynamic Characteristics of Buried Pipeline under Vibration Velocity of Vehicle Loads)

  • 지진 및 외부 진동에 의하여 구조물에 발생하게 되는 진동량은 진동 속도와 피해규모가 비례하는 관계에 있음을 고려하여 일반적으로 진동속도로 나타내어진다. 본 연구에서는 진동 속도 기반의 구조물 진동기준을 검토하고, 이를 고려하여 도로 하부 매설 가스 강관의 안정성 평가를 수행하였다. 가스공사 주사용 배관인 762 mm API 5L Gr. X65 강관을 해석 대상 배관으로 선정하였으며 도로설계기준에 의하여 지반 매설 조건 및 DB-24 하중을 다양한 속도에 대한 시간 함수로 고려하여 재하하였다. 진동속도는 차량 진행 속도 80 km/h까지 증가하다가 이후 감소하는 경향을 보였으며, 차량 진행 속도 80 km/h에서 0.034 cm/s의 진동 속도를 보임으로서 진동 기준 대비 매우 작은 값임을 확인하였다. 또한 감쇄법칙을 적용하여 진행파의 속도를 분석한 결과, 차량 진행 속도 80 km/h에서 가장 작은 속도를 나타내었다.

항공기 엔진 지지구조물의 피로수명 해석에 관한 연구 (Study on Fatigue Life Estimation for Aircraft Engine Support Structure)

  • 항공기 구조는 신뢰성 보장을 위해 피로하중에 대한 수명예측이 중요한 분야로 고려되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 항공기 비행안전과 가장 밀접한 엔진 지지구조물을 대상으로 S-N 곡선과 등가응력을 이용하여 선형누적손상 이론을 적용한 피로수명 해석을 수행하였다. 내추락 하중 조건에서 정적강도 해석의 최대응력은 가위형 링크 부위에 1,080MPa를 나타내었으며, 이는 온도감소계수를 적용한 허용응력보다 약 5%의 여유를 가지고 있다. 피로하중 조건에서 최대응력은 가위형 링크 부위에 876MPa로 가장 높았으며, 이 때 응력방정식 계수도 0.019MPa/N으로 최대를 나타내었다. 피로수명 해석에 의한 안전수명은 가위형 링크 상단부에 있는 프레팅 영역이 416,667H이고, 다른 부위는 무한수명이 산출되어, 항공기 엔진 지지구조물(가위형 링크, 직선형 링크)은 피로수명 요구도를 충족하는 것으로 확인되었다.

Improvement of aseismic performance of a PGSFR PHTS pump

  • A design study was performed to improve the limit aseismic performance (LSP) of a primary heat transport system (PHTS) pump. This pump is part of the primary equipment of a prototype generation IV sodium-cooled fast reactor (PGSFR). The LSP is the maximum allowable seismic load that still ensures structural integrity. To calculate the LSP of the PHTS pump, a structural analysis model of the pump was developed and its dynamic characteristics were obtained by modal analysis. The floor response spectrum (FRS) initiated from a safety shutdown earthquake (SSE), 0.3 g, was applied to the support points of the PHTS pump, and then the seismic induced stresses were calculated. The structural integrity was evaluated according to the ASME code, and the LSP of the PHTS pump was calculated from the evaluation results. Based on the results of the modal analysis and LSP of the PHTS pump, design parameters affecting the LSP were selected. Then, ways to improve the LSP were proposed from sensitivity analysis of the selected design variables.

더블앵글 접합부를 사용한 철골조의 단순해석 모델 (Simplified Analytical Model for a Steel Frame with Double Angle Connections)

  • A steel frame is one of the most commonly used structural systems due to its resistance to various types of applied loads. Many studies have been conducted to investigate the effects of connection flexibility, support conditions, and beam-to-column stiffness ratio on the story drift of a frame. Based on the results of these studies, several design guides have been proposed. This research has been conducted to predict the actual behavior of a double angle connection, and to establish its effect on the story drift and the maximum allowable load of a steel frame. For these purposes, several experimental tests were conducted and a simplified analytical model was proposed. This simplified analytical model consists of four spring elements as well as a column member. In addition, a point bracing system was proposed to control the excessive story drift of an unbraced steel frame.
