예비교사의 초등수학교과서 활용에 대한 관점 (Perspectives on the Use of Elementary Mathematics Textbooks by the Pre-service Teachers)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 학교 현장에서 수학 수업을 관찰하면서 인식한 초등예비교사들의 초등수학교과서 활용에 대한 관점을 분석하고 수학 수업에서 교과서 활용을 위한 시사점을 제시하는 것이다. 본 연구를 위해 54명의 초등예비교사들이 서울시내 15개 지역구에 1학년부터 6학년까지 54개 학급(총 1299명의 학생)의 수학 수업을 관찰하였다. 수학 수업의 관찰을 토대로 예비교사들이 인식하는 초등수학교과서의 활용과 수학 수업에서 자료의 활용에 대한 관점을 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 예비교사들은 초등수학교과서의 동기유발 자료를 각색하여 활용할 필요가 있다고 인식하였다. 그리고 학생들의 효과적인 학습을 돕기 위하여 수준별 학습을 포함하여 교과서 이외에 다양한 활동지 및 부가적인 자료를 사용할 필요가 있고, 이들은 수학 수업에서 교수 학습을 위해 사용하는 도구는 주로 TV와 PPT 등이라고 응답하였다. 예비교사들은 초등수학교과서의 내용과 체제 자체에 대해서 보통 정도의 만족을 하고 있었고, 디지털교과서 개발의 필요성도 크게 느끼지는 않았다. 연구자는 수학 교수 학습의 질 향상을 위하여 수업의 전반적인 메커니즘 안에서 교과서와 같은 학습 자료를 어떻게 활용하는 것이 효과적인지에 대한 장기간의 연구와 교사들을 위한 학교 현장의 적용을 포함한 실제적인 연수가 필요함을 제안하였다.

문제제기 전략을 강조한 수업과 학업 성취도와의 관계분석: 방정식을 중심으로 (A study of the effects of problem posing strategies on mathematics achievement.)

  • This thesis is to see if the classes using problem posing is effective to improve the students' grades in math. So I set up research subjects as follow. 1. Do the classes focused on problem posing have any influence on the students' achievement\ulcorner 2. Do the classes focused on problem posing have any different influence on the students' achievement according to their levels\ulcorner 3. Do the classes focused on problem posing have any different influence on the students' achievement according to the categories in math\ulcorner I close four classes in the first grade of K middle school in Kangnung, Kangwon province for this thesis. First I divided them into two groups. Each group consisted of two classes. One is the experimental group. The other is the comparative group. The experimental group was taken classes using problem posing. The comparative group was taken classes by the traditional teaching method. And then I analyzed the difference of the achievement between two groups. As a result of this research, I came to the conclusion as follow. First, the classes focused on problem posing is more effective than traditional teaching method for the improvement of the students` achievement Second, both the classes using problem posing and the traditional teaching method doesn`t affect to the advanced students. Third, the classes using problem posing is more effective to the intermediate students and lower level students than the traditional teaching method. Especially it is very effective in teaching the students the linear equation.

High School Students' Perceptions of Mathematics Teachers' Implementation of UDL-Based Practices and Technology in Mathematics Classes

  • The purpose of this survey-based study was to investigate high school students' perceptions of mathematics teachers' implementation of Universal Design for Learning (UDL)-based practices and technology in their mathematics classes in 2017. A total of 303 high school students in South Korea participated in this online survey on teachers' use of technology for instructional practices, the frequency of technology tool use, and the meeting of UDL guidelines in mathematics instruction. According to frequency analysis, high school students generally perceived their teachers' mathematics teaching as somewhat positive in providing multiple means of representation, action and expression, and engagement. However, mathematics teachers' implementation of technology tools in their mathematics classes was generally limited. This study indicated significant and positive relationships between variables regarding the use of technology tools and teachers' efforts to follow the UDL guidelines. Applying the Chi-squared test, we further examined how each survey result differed according to high school students' academic achievements and grade levels.

  • Two infinite classes of special finite groups considered (The group G is special, if G' and Z(G) coincide). Using certain sequences of numbers we give explicit formulas for the Fibonacci lenghts of these classes which involve the well-known Wall numbers k(n).

  • In the paper, we introduce some new classes of generalized logh-convex functions in the first sense and in the second sense. We establish Hermite-Hadamard type inequality for different classes of generalized convex functions. It is shown that the classes of generalized log h-convex functions in both senses include several new and known classes of log h convex functions. Several special cases are also discussed. Results proved in this paper can be viewed as a new contributions in this area of research.

SRN을 활용한 대학수학 강좌 운영 사례 (A Case of Operating College Mathematics Course using SRN)

  • 이 연구에서는 대학의 교양 교육과정으로 운영되는 '대학수학' 강좌에서 자기성찰 노트(SRN)를 활용한 수업을 진행하고 그것이 대학생들의 수학학습에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 확인하고자 했다. 이를 위해, '대학수학' 세 분반, '대학수학II' 한 분반 수강생 등 95명의 대학생들을 대상으로 SRN 학습 전략을 활용한 수업을 진행하고 그 결과를 분석하였다. 학생들의 변화를 확인하기 위해, 정의적 영역 설문조사, 핵심역량 설문조사, 만족도 조사 등을 실시하여 자료를 수집하고 분석하였다. 그 결과, 다음을 확인하였다. 첫째, SRN을 활용한 수업에 참여한 대학생들의 수학에 대한 흥미, 자신감, 향후 기대감이 개선되었다. 둘째, SRN을 활용한 수업에 참여한 대학생들의 핵심역량(자기주도 역량, 소통 역량)이 증진되었다. 셋째, 이 연구에 참여한 학생들은 SRN을 활용한 학습 전략이 자신의 수학공부에 도움이 되었다고 평가했다. 넷째, SRN을 활용한 학습을 통해 학생들은 자신의 학습습관을 개선하고, 단점을 보완하며, 교수자와 실질적 의사소통이 가능하다고 평가했다.

  • Some properties of filters are studied with respect to a congru-ence of BE-algebras. The notion of θ-filters is introduced and these classes of filters are then characterized in terms of congruence classes. A bijection is obtained between the set of all θ-filters of a BE-algebra and the set of all filters of the respective BE-algebra of congruences classes.

Impact of Hand-Held Technology for Understanding Linear Equations and Graphs

  • This article describes a research project that examined the impact of hand-held technology on students' understanding linear equations and graphs in multiple representations. The results indicated that students in the graphing-approach classes were significantly better at the components of interpreting. No significant differences between the graphing-approach and traditional classes were found fur translation, modeling, and algebraic skills. Further, students in the graphing-approach classes showed significant improvements in their attitudes toward mathematics and technology, were less anxious about mathematics, and rated their class as more interesting and valuable.

New Subclasses of Harmonic Starlike and Convex Functions

  • The purpose of the present paper is to establish some interesting results involving coefficient conditions, extreme points, distortion bounds and covering theorems for the classes $V_H({\beta})$ and $U_H({\beta})$. Further, various inclusion relations are also obtained for these classes. We also discuss a class preserving integral operator and show that these classes are closed under convolution and convex combinations.
