Electrical Properties of Yarned Carbon Nanotube Fiber Resistors (Yarned CNT Fiber 저항체의 전기적 특성)

  • CNT (carbon nanotube) resistors with low resistance and negative TCR (temperature coefficient of resistance) were fabricated with yarned CNT (carbon nanotube) fibers. The CNT fibers were prepared by yarning CNTs grown on the silicone substrate by CVD (chemical vapor deposition) method. The CNT resistors were fabricated by winding CNT fibers on the surface of ceramic rod. Both metal terminals were connected with the CNT fiber wound on the ceramic rod. We measured electrical resistance and thermal stability with the number of CNT fibers wound. The CNT resistor system shows linearly decreased resistance with the number of CNTs wound on the ceramic rod and saturated at 20 strands. The CNT resistor system has negative TCR between $-1,000{\sim}-2,000ppm/^{\circ}C$ and stable frequency properties under 100 kHz.

  • In present work, both the hyperbolic shear deformation theory and stress function concept are used to study the mechanical and thermal stability responses of functionally graded (FG) plates resting on elastic foundation. The accuracy of the proposed formulation is checked by comparing the computed results with those predicted by classical plate theory (CPT), first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT) and higher-order shear deformation theory (HSDT). Moreover, results demonstrate that the proposed formulation can achieve the same accuracy of the existing HSDTs which have more number of governing equations.

  • Bi-2212 and Bi-2223 thin films are prepared by IBS(ion beam sputtering) technique. Three phases of Bi-2201, Bi-2212 and Bi-2223 appear as stable ones in spite of the conditions for thin film fabrication of Bi-2212 and Bi-2223 compositions, depending on substrate temperature($T_{sub}$) and ozone pressure( $PO_3$ ). It is found out that these phases show similar $T_{sub}$ and $PO_3$ dependence, and that the stable regions of these phases are limited within very narrow temperature.

  • In this study, we have investigated electro-optical characteristics of thermal and UV stressed TN cells on the rubbed polyimide surface. Mono-domain alignments of thermal stressed TN cells over temperature of liquid crystal isotropic phase were almost same that of no thermal stressed TN cells. Also, threshold voltage and response time of thermal stressed TN cells were same that of no thermal stressed TN cells. Finally, the residual DC voltage of the thermal stressed TN cell on the polyimide surface show decrease of characteristics as increasing thermal stress time. Therefore, thermal stability of TN cell was decreased by high thermal stress for the long times.

  • Stability improvement of fragile LB films was attempted by polyion complexation of monolayers at the air-water interface and crosslinking of the resulting LB films. The spreading polymers were synthesized by radical copolymerization of monoalkyl itaconate with oligoethyleneglycol methyl vinylether, and poly(allylamine) was employed as the subphase polymer. Formation and characteristic of the monolayers were comfirmed by surface pressure-area($\pi$-A) isotherms. The two different polymers formed polyion-complexed monolayer through the formation of carboxylate/ammonium salt at the air-water interface. Y-type deposition occurred on solid substrates, and the transfer ratio was over 0.7. Pores (diameter, 0.1$\mu\textrm{m}$) of a membrane filter could be covered by polyion-complexed 6 layers. Interactions of the polymers with metal ions were investigated of the air-water interface and in the LB films. The structure change and macroscope morphology of the LB films were confirmed by FT-lR and SEM, respective1y.

Synthesis and Characterization of Glold Nanofluid Prepared by the Solution Plasma Processing (용액 플라즈마 공정을 이용하여 제조된 금 나노유체의 특성평가)

  • In the present work, water-based gold nanofluids were synthesized by the solution plasma processing (SPP). The size distribution and the shape of gold nanoparticles in the nanofluids were investigated using high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM). The dispersion stability of gold nanofluids was characterized using zeta potential, as well. The thermal properties of gold nanofluids were measured by utilizing lambda measurement device. Nanofluids containing nanoparticles with $64.0{\pm}42.1\;nm{\sim}18.10{\pm}5.0\;nm$ in diameter were successfully synthesized. As diameter of nanoparticles decreased, dispersion stability of nanofluids increased and the enhanced ratio of thermal conductivity increased. The nanofluid with nanoparticles of $18.10\;{\pm}\;5.0\;nm$ in diameter showed approximately 3% improvement in thermal conductivity measurement and this could be due to the enhanced Brownian movement.

  • The demand on thermos furnace of Al molten metal has recently been getting higher and higher according to the increase in use of Al and Al alloys. This study considers the estimation of the thermal and mechanical stability in the thermos furnace for Al casting. It is executed through the analysis of heat transfer on the refractory material and heat stress on each steel shell. Also, the estimation of structural stability was appraised through the strength analysis of the lower structure. In result, the temperature of steel shell rose to 320.15K and its elastic deformation was about 1.5mm. The elastic deformation of the lower structure was about 0.66mm. As a result of it, the data obtain from the analysis in this study are regarded as stable value on considering that the size of the furnace is 2500mm.

  • A new bridge scour countermeasure using geobags and recycled aggregates which is more stable and economical than existing methods is proposed, and its stability was verified through material tests. PP short staple nonwoven geotextile and PET long staple nonwoven geotextile produced in Korea were selected, and a series of strength tests and a test of hydraulic characteristics were conducted to determine a suitable geotextile for geobags. A series of leaching test was also conducted to assess the potential environmental risk of recycled concrete produced in Korea when it is utilized as a material for protecting bridge piers against scour.

Did performance test item first at, as a result, drew by suitable thing in all KS items. This is considered to have more effective spot construction work because if means that have stability by material as well as method of construction.

  • We have investigated electro-optical characteristics in three kinds of twisted nematic (TN) cells on the polyimide surface. The threshold voltage and the response time of thermal stressed TN cells were same that of no thermal stressed TN cells. There were little change of value in these TN cells. On the other hand, transmittance of no thermal stressed TN cells were better than that of thermal stressed TN cells. Transmittances of TN cells on the polyimide surface decreased by increasing thermal stress time. Moreover, the residual DC of the thermal stressed TN cells increased as increasing thermal stress temperature and time. Therefore, thermal stability of TN cells were decreased gradually by giving high thermal stress for a long time.
