지역 일치를 이용한 지문 정합 방법 (Fingerprint Minutia Matching Using Local Alignment)

  • We proposes a new fingerprint minutia matching algorithm which matches the fingerprint minutiae by using local alignment. In general, fingerprint is deformed by Pressure and orientation when a user presses his fingerprint to the sensor. These nonlinear deformations change the position and the orientation of minutiae which decrease reliability of minutiae. Matching by using global alignment uses one alignment point. But, the problem with this method is that, due to the deformation, matching reliability of a minutia decreases as the distance from the alignment minutia increases. Matching by using local alignment overcomes this problem by considering minutiae which are located in a short distance boundary. Experimental results show that the performance of the proposed algorithm is superior to that of using global alignment.

  • A three dimensional fractal coding with a perceptually enhanced matching is proposed. Since most of medical images (e.g. computed tomography or magnetic resonance image) have three dimensional character, the searching region is extended to adjacent slices. For perceptually enhanced matching, a high frequency booster filter is used for prefiltering of the original image, and the least mean square error matching is applied to this edge enhanced image rather than the original image. From the simulation with the magnetic resonance images ($255{\times}255$, 8bits/pixel). the proposed algorithm provides excellent image quality with compression rations higher than 10. Compared to existing fractal coding the algorithm also provides better subjective image quality with higher compression ratio.

  • This paper proposes an on-line Recognition scheme of cursive Korean characters based on the DP matching and fuzzy concept. The proposed algorithm, invariant to rotation and size, reduces greatly the computational requirement of dynamic programming by matching phonemes rather than character patterns, where the angle difference and the ration of lengths between input and reference patterns are adopted as matching features. The correct matching of poorly written cursive characters becomes possible by introducing the fuzzy concept in representing the features of phonemes and the ralative position between adjacent phonemes. Computer simulation results are observed to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

  • We propose a template matching method for component inspection of SMD assembly system. To discriminate wrong assembled components, the input image of component is matched with its standard image by template matching algorithm. For a fast inspection system, the calculation time of matching algorithm should be reduced. Since the standard images of all components located in a PCB are stored in computer, it is desirable to reduce the memory size of standard image. We apply the discrete wavelet transformation to reduce the image size as well as the calculation time. Only 7% memory of the BMP image is used to discriminate goodness or badness of components assembly. Comparative results are presented to verify the usefulness of the proposed method.

Improvement of ASIFT for Object Matching Based on Optimized Random Sampling

  • This paper proposes an efficient matching algorithm based on ASIFT (Affine Scale-Invariant Feature Transform) which is fully invariant to affine transformation. In our approach, we proposed a method of reducing similar measure matching cost and the number of outliers. First, we combined the Manhattan and Chessboard metrics replacing the Euclidean metric by a linear combination for measuring the similarity of keypoints. These two metrics are simple but really efficient. Using our method the computation time for matching step was saved and also the number of correct matches was increased. By applying an Optimized Random Sampling Algorithm (ORSA), we can remove most of the outlier matches to make the result meaningful. This method was experimented on various combinations of affine transform. The experimental result shows that our method is superior to SIFT and ASIFT.

  • This paper introduces a correlation-based surface matching algorithm that can be used to reconstruct the surface topography of an object that is scanned from multiple overlapping regions by an AFM. The image matching technique is applied to two neighboring images intentionally overlapped with each other. To account for the inaccuracy of the coarse stage implemented in AFM, all the six axes including the rotational degrees of freedom are successively matched to maximize the correlation coefficient. The results show that the proposed 6-axes image matching method is useful for expanding the measurement range of AFM.

  • This paper deals with the synthesis of the 3-dimensional grasp planning for unknown objects. Previous studies have many problems, which the estimation time for finding the grasping points is much long and the analysis used the not-perfect 3-dimensional modeling. To overcome these limitations in this paper new algorithm is proposed, which algorithm is achieved by two steps. First step is to find the whole 3-dimensional geometrical modeling for unknown objects by using stereo matching. Second step is to find the optimal grasping points for unknown objects by using the neural network trained by the result of optimization using genetic algorithm. The algorithm is verified by computer simulation, comparing the result between neural network and optimization.

  • According as the patterns of PCB (Printed Circuit Board) become denser and complicated, quality and accuracy of PCB influence the performance of final product. It's attempted to obtain trust of 100% about all of parts. Because human inspection in mass-production manufacturing facilities are both time-consuming and very expensive, the automation of visual inspection has been attempted for many years. Thus, automatic visual inspection of PCB is required. In this paper, we used an algorithm which compares the reference PCB patterns and the input PCB patterns are separated an object and a scene by filtering and edge detection. And than compare two image using pattern matching algorithm. We suggest an defect inspection algorithm in PCB pattern, to be satisfied low cost, high speed, high performance and flexibility on the basis of $640{\times}480$ binary pattern.

  • This paper presents a fast block-matching algorithm to improve the conventional Three-Step Search (TSS) based method. The proposed Comparison Fast Block Matching Algorithm (CFBMA) begins with DAB for adaptive search range to choose searching method, and searches a part of search window that has high possibility of motion vector like other partial search algorithms. The CFBMA also considers the opposite direction to reduce local minimum, which is ignored in almost conventional based partial search algorithms. CFBMA uses the summation half-stop technique to reduce the computational load. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm achieves the high computational complexity compression effect and very close or better image quality compared with TSS, SES, NTSS based partial search algorithms.

  • 본 논문에서는 ORB 알고리즘을 기반으로 하는 다중객체 인식 구현을 위하여 개선된 매칭 기법을 제안한다. 객체 인식 알고리즘으로 잘 알려진 SURF 알고리즘은 객체인식에 강인하지만 연산량이 많아 실시간으로 구현하기에는 어려운 단점이 있다. 따라서 ORB 알고리즘을 활용하여 객체를 인식하였고, 실시간 다중객체인식을 위해 매칭 단계를 개선하여 속도를 약 70% 향상 시켰다.
