근대기 대구지역 벽돌조 강당 건물의 건축특성과 파사드 구성에 관한 연구 - 남산초등학교 강당을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Architectural Characteristics and Facade Construction of the Brick Masonry Auditorium in Daegu During the Modern Age - Focused on the Auditorium of Namsan Primary School -)

  • This study was to analyze the architectural characteristics and facade construction of brick masonry auditorium through the Auditorium of Namsan Primary School in 1936. The results of this study were described separately as follows. 1. The auditorium is located away from the school buildings, and its plane is a chamber of rectangle type with an entrance installed on each of the four sides. 2. The external appearance is Renaissance eclectic style, laid red bricks on the lower wall of the window and having a mansard roof. The front and the rear are symmetric with respect to the projected wall at the center. 3. As to the structure of the building, a concrete lower wall was built on the concrete continuous footing, and the brick wall was constructed on the lower wall. The roof is queen post roof truss, and the wall girders were installed on the brick wall. 4. The auditorium has had a number of repairing and maintenance works, which changed the roof and windows outside and the floor, walls, ceiling, etc. inside. 5. The decorative elements of external appearance include lower wall, brick wall, entrances, windows, roof, and dormer windows. The brick wall gives verticality and solidity to the surface of the wall, and the lower wall and wall girders are connected like a cornice of the wall. The surface of the mansard roof and dormer windows express a stable vertically oriented shape.

정적실험을 통한 조적채움벽체가 비내진상세 RC 골조의 내진성능에 미치는 영향 평가 (An Experimental Study on the Influence of Masonry InFilled Walls on the Seismic Performance of Reinforced Concrete Frames with Non-seismic Details)

  • 본 논문에서는 국내 비내진상세 조적채움벽 RC 골조의 내진성능을 파악하기 위하여 실규모 크기의 비내진상세 조적채움벽 RC 골조를 대상으로 정적실험을 실시하였으며, 기존 비내진상세 RC 골조 의 정적 실험결과와의 비교 분석을 통하여 조적채움벽체가 RC 골조의 내진성능에 미치는 영향에 대하여 평가하였다. 실험 결과. 조적채움벽 RC 골조 실험체는 조적채움벽체에 의한 압축력으로 기둥, 보, 접합부 등 골조 전체에 균열 등의 손상이 발생하였으며, 접합부 전단균열이 벌어지고 철근이 노출되면서 취성 파괴되었다. 한편, 조적체움벽 RC 골조 실험체의 수평하중과 층간변형각 관계는 벽체 슬라이딩 균열, 기둥 균열 등으로 강성이 저하되었으며, 철근 항복이후 최대 내력에 도달하고 접합부 균열의 확대, 철근 노출 등으로 내력이 최대 내력의 40% 정도로 저하되었다. 조적채움벽체로 인하여 기둥 상 하단 및 접합부에만 집중되던 손상이 기둥, 보, 접합부 등 골조 전체에 분산되어 발생하였으며, 기둥의 전단균열이 아닌 접합부의 전단균열의 확대로 최종 파괴되었다. 또한, 조적채움벽체로 인하여 RC 골조의 강성은 12.42배, 내력은 3.63배 증가한 반면에, 강성 증가에 따라 최대 내력 시의 층간변형각은 0.18배, 파괴시의 변형은 절반 이하로 감소하였다.

Modeling of unreinforced brick walls under in-plane shear & compression loading

  • The study of the seismic vulnerability of masonry buildings requires structural properties of walls such as stiffness, ultimate load capacity, etc. In this article, a method is suggested for modeling the masonry walls under in-plane loading. At the outset, a set of analytical equations was established for determining the elastic properties of an equivalent homogeneous material of masonry. The results for homogenized unreinforced brick walls through detailed modeling were compared in different manners such as solid and perforated walls, in-plane and out-of-plane loading, etc, and it was found that this method provides suitable accuracy in estimation of the wall linear properties. Furthermore, comparison of the results of proposed modeling with experimental out coming indicated that this model considers the non linear properties of the wall such as failure pattern, performance curve and ultimate strength, and would be appropriate to establish a parametric study on those prone factors. The proposed model is complicated; therefore, efforts need to be made in order to overcome the convergency problems which will be included in this study. The nonlinear model is basically semi-macro but through a series of actions, it can be simplified to a macro model.

대도시 지역의 노후 조적조 건축물의 구조 성능 열화 특성 분석 (An Analysis on the Structural Deterioration Properties of Timeworn Masonry Buildings in Metropolitan Area)

  • 1960~70년대에 시작된 대도시 인구 집중화로 인해 다수의 조적조 건축물이 시공되었으며, 현재 이들은 상당수 구조 성능 저하 현상이 발생하고 있다. 노후 조적조 건축물의 특성 분석을 통해 벽체에서 발생하는 균열들이 가장 큰 열화요인이며 그 다음으로 큰 영향을 주는 요인은 기초로 분석되었으며, 열화 정도와 진행 속도는 사용유형, 시공년도와 큰 상관관계가 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 또한, 건물의 존치기간이 길어짐에 따라 전체적인 안전수준을 떨어지게 되는데 조적조 건축물에 있어서 열화 정도의 한계에 이르는 시기는 존치기간 30년으로 분석되었다.

  • Masonry infill walls are frequently used as interior partitions and exterior walls in low- or middlerise RC buildings In the structural design and assessment of structural behaviors of buildings, the infill walls are usually treated as non-structural elements and they are ignored in analytical models. In this study, seismic behaviors of RC frame with/without masonry infill walls were investigated. To this end, the infill walls were modeled as equivalent diagonal struts. Based on analytical results, it has been shown that masonry infill walls can increase the global strength and stiffness of a structure. Accordingly, inter-story drift ratio will be decreased but seismic forces applied to the structure were increased than design seismic load because natural period of the structure was decreased. It is also seen from the analytical results that the inelastic deformation of RC frame with soft story is concentrated on the first story columns and thus, partial damage may have possibility of collapse of system.

기둥 및 벽체가 보강된 조적벽체의 지진거동에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study On Seismic Behavior Of Masonry Walls With Column)

  • 본 연구는 보강 조적벽체의 지진거동에 대한 실험적 연구로써, 기둥의 보강, 조적벽체의 보강, 횡하중 높이에 대한 역학적 특성을 분석하였다. 시험체는 구멍이 있는 콘크리트 블록으로 만들었고, 전단 스팬비, 횡하중 높이의 영향, 보강기둥 및 벽체 철근 보강비에 대한 구조적 특성을 파악할 수 있도록 하였다. 벽체의 횡력에 대한 하중점의 벽체 높이의 0.67, 1.08 및 1.1배로 하였다. 수평방향의 철근비는 0, 0.08, 0.18, 수직 방향의 철근비는 0.18, 0.36, 0.64로 하였다.

Alternative approach for reproducing the in-plane behaviour of rubble stone walls

  • Stone masonry is one of the oldest construction types due to the natural and free availability of stones and the relatively easy construction. Since stone masonry is brittle, it is also very vulnerable and in the case of earthquakes damage, collapses and causalities are very likely to occur, as it has been seen during the last Italian earthquake in Amatrice in 2016. In the recent years, some researchers have performed experimental tests to improve the knowledge of the behaviour of stone masonry. Concurrently, there is the need to reproduce the seismic behaviour of these structures by numerical approaches, also in consideration of the high cost of experimental tests. In this work, an alternative simplified procedure to numerically reproduce the diagonal compression and shear compression tests on a rubble stone masonry is proposed within the finite element method. The proposed procedure represents the stone units as rigid bodies and the mortar as a plastic material with compression and tension inelastic behaviour calibrated based on parametric studies. The validation of the proposed model was verified by comparison with experimental data. The advantage of this simplified methodology is the use of a limited number of degrees of freedom which allows the reduction of the computational time, which leaves the possibility to carry out parametric studies that consider different wall configurations.

Two scale seismic analysis of masonry infill concrete frames through hybrid simulation

  • This paper presents the application of hybrid-simulation-based adapter elements for the non-linear two-scale analysis of reinforced concrete frames with masonry infills under seismic-like demands. The approach provides communication and distribution of the computations carried out by two or more remote or locally distributed numerical models connected through the OpenFresco Framework. The modeling consists of a global analysis formed by macro-elements to represent frames and walls, and to reduce global degrees of freedom, portions of the structure that require advanced analysis are substituted by experimental elements and dimensional couplings acting as interfaces with their respective sub-assemblies. The local sub-assemblies are modeled by solid finite elements where the non-linear behavior of concrete matrix and masonry infill adopt a continuum damage representation and the reinforcement steel a discrete one, the conditions at interfaces between concrete and masonry are considered through a contact model. The methodology is illustrated through the analysis of a frame-wall system subjected to lateral loads comparing the results of using macro-elements, finite element model and experimental observations. Finally, to further assess and validate the methodology proposed, the paper presents the pushover analysis of two more complex structures applying both modeling scales to obtain their corresponding capacity curves.

안정해석을 통한 공동 일체식 옹벽의 최적높이 평가 (Evaluation on Optimal Height of the Bin Wall using Stability Analysis)

  • Structures to support against slop failures or resist earth pressure like masonry retaining walls or retaining walls have continued to advance and evolve to new eco-friendly, easy-to-construct, crib retaining walls with varied forms and construction methods, meeting the needs of the times. Researches until now, however, have focused on the analyses of site displacement or stability of the whole site including structures like retaining walls, and thus, researches on rational design or method for stability analysis are lacking. Therefore, this study was conducted on a number of stability analyses, such as the visual power line or stability on sliding, being presented for bin walls, which enable vegetation to grow and were developed and applied in varied forms, meeting the development demands for eco-friendly retaining wall structures. This study compared the results of stability analyses, determined their feasibility, and evaluated their stability according to the height and facade slope of retaining walls. According to the results of this study, traditional masonry retaining wall analysis showed rather conservative stability evaluation results in the stability evaluation of bin walls, and the method using the visual power line seems to be objective because it produced similar results to the stability evaluation method on sliding or turnover.

  • 본 연구에서는 얇은 육각 기둥의 패턴을 이루고 있는 스틸제 하니컴형 보강재와 방청성 내진 모르타르 및 불연성 마감 코팅제를 사용하여, 철근콘크리트 기둥과 조적허리벽의 전단강도와 연성능력을 향상시켜 내진보강이 이루어 지도록 하는 방법을 제시하고 실험하고자 한다.
