  • Shear connectors are key elements that ensure integrity in a composite system. The primary purpose of a shear connector is to bring a high degree of interaction between composite elements. A wide variety of connectors are available for hot-rolled composite construction, connected to the beam through welding. However, with cold-formed members being very thin, welding of shear connectors is not desirable in cold-formed composite constructions. Shear connectors for cold-formed elements are limited in studies as well as in the market. Hence in this study, three different types of shear connectors, namely, single-channel, double channel, and self-tapping screw, were considered, and their performance assessed by the Push-out test as per Eurocode 4. The connection between channel shear connectors and the beam was made using self-tapping screws to avoid welding. The performance of the connectors was analyzed based on their ultimate capacity, characteristic capacity, ductility, and slippage during loading. Strength to weight ratio was also carried out to understand the proposed connectors' suitability for conventional ones. The results showed relatively higher initial stiffness and ductility for double channel connectors than other connectors. Also, self-tapping screws had a higher strength to weight ratio with low ductility.

The following strategies are suggested to Korean apparel firms to function more effectively in incleasingly competitive U.S. markets: l)Basics can be produced in lower wage countries meanwhile quick turnaround and high quality works can be produced either in Korea or U.S. 2)Manufacturers might try to have direct relationship with powerful retailers who have their own private labels of store-brand lines. 3)Apparel companies can open market showrooms in the California Market Center. For small firms they can contact with independent representatives who receive commissions for showing lines for manufacturers or rent space for showing the lines during market weeks. 4)Apparel firms can contact buying offices to introduce their products to retail buyers. 5)Korean firms can contact Korean-American apparel firms to gain easy access to U.S.Market.

  • The closed-loop supply chain's central enterprises aim to maximize the revenue and reduce the reclaiming channel level to the greatest extent by using blockchain and modern management methods. The traditional recycling network has more links, and there is less communication between enterprises in each link. There is a particular "bullwhip effect" in the channel link, making it difficult for power battery manufacturers to respond to the dynamic market quickly. It is often challenging to obtain scaled waste power batteries, which aggravates how power battery raw materials are expensive and difficult to recycle. Therefore, the closed-loop supply chain design of power batteries adopting blockchain shall minimize channel links and reduce transaction levels to reduce costs.

  • This paper aims to analyze the effects that marketing mix variables have on the marketing performance of pharmaceutical manufacturers. It examines how product characteristics, price, marketing channel and promotion effort influence the sales and market share of anti-ulcer drugs in the markets for clinics and hospitals separately. Empirical results from 29 products of anti-ulcer drugs show that sales in hospitals are affected by the profit per prescription to the physician, brand name drugs relative to generics, and the age of ingredients since its introduction to the markets. Profit per prescription to the hospital, relative price, age of ingredients and promotion effort have positive effects on the market share.

  • This study examines apparel brand extensions in terms of types and leverage effects. The researchers identified types of apparel brand extensions based on recent data gathered from the Korean apparel market. Three hundred forty eight Korean female subjects in their 20's evaluated three hypothetically extended brands from a major casual brand which actually exists in the Korean market. Major findings of the study follow. First, apparel brands are extended to different product categories by adjusting mostly target profiles as well as product usage, product class, and distribution channel. Secondly, leverage effects, the extent of image transfer from the parent brand to extended brands, are different according to the extension types.

  • The proliferation of the Internet and related technologies and applications has led to a new form of market place known as the electronic store. In this paper, we study competition between two shopping channels, an electronic store and traditional retailers. Based on the circular spatial market model, we derive the Nash and Stackelberg equilibria as a function of the efficiency of the electronic store. The result shows that the Stackelberg equilibrium is always superior to the Nash equilibrium for both channels. It is also shown that, in some cases, the electronic store has incentive to decrease its efficiency to gain more profit.
