They were classified into 63 species, 31 genera, 25 families, seven orders in a class. Among them, Antho (Arcania) manarensis Carter, 1880 and Eurypon lendenfeldi Hentschel, 1912 were newly added to Korean Fauna. Two species, Biemna chujaensis and B. jeolmyongensis, were new to science.

  • The marine hydroids of Cheju Island in this work identified into 46 species and/or subspecies of 25 genera in 10 families. Of which four species: Rhizocaulus chinensis, Obelia bicuspidata, Sertularia desmoides and Plumularia spinulosa are new to the hydroid fauna of Cheju Island and four species: Hebella parastica, Campanularia groenlandica, Campanularia everta and Sertulareffa natalensis are new to the Korean fauna. Adding these eight species to the previous known species (83 species and/or subspecies) in Cheju Island, the hydroid fauna in Cheju Island identified up to date consists of 91 species and/or subspecies of 41 genera in 12 families. Macrorhynchia phoenicea is dominant species which occur in 10 points, Aglaophenia suensonii in eight points. 71 species (78%) occur in Songsanp'o, 43 species (47%) in Munsom, 26 species (29%) in Supsom, 13 species (14%) in Wimi-ri and 11 species (12%) in P - omsom in order. Thirty-three percent (30 species) of the hydroids of Cheju Island was only found in Cheju Island.

  • The present study on the classified and distribution of Korean marine archeogastropods is mainly based on the materials which were collected by the authors from July, 1979 to August, 1988 to 60 localities in the south Korean continental shelf. In addition to the 52 species and 8 subspecies of archeogastropods that have been reported from Korean waters, 9 species are found to be new to the fauna of Korea ; Diodora sieboldii (Reeve), Montfortula pulchra A. Adams, Colisella langfordi Habe, Notoacmea gloriosa Habe, Mesoclanculus ater (Pilsbry) , Cantharidus hirasei (Pilsbry), Guildfordia triumphans (Pilsbry), Tristichotrochus aculeatus (Sowerby), Homalopoma sangarense(Schrenck). The Korean marine archeogatropod fauna comprises 4 suborders, 5 superfamilies 10 families , 61 species and 8 subspecies. The authors listed the scienfic name of the korean archeogastropods in correct and described the unrcorded species from korea with keys to species and families.

  • The specimens collected from five localities during the period from 2004 to 2022 were observed. As a result of this study, Jellyella eburnea was found to be new to the Korean fauna and three membraniporids were reviewed. Two species, Jellyella eburnea and Biflustra grandicella, were redescribed and illustrated with the collected specimens in this study. Membranipora perfragilis from Korea is changed into Biflustra grandicella. Jellyella eburnea is new to the Korean fauna and first reported outside subtropical and tropical seas of the South Pacific and Indo-Pacific Ocean. This fact proves that the seas in Korea are warming. Additionally, Biflustra crenulata reported from the West Sea, South Sea and Jejudo waters of Korea is synonymized into Biflustra okadai. Membranipora irregulata is transferred into the genus Biflustra. Five of Korean membraniporids, Biflustra grandicella, Biflustra irregulata, Biflustra okadai, Jellyella eburnea, and Jellyella tuberculata, are reported in the Korean fauna as a result of this study. The photos taken in the field and by Scanning Electron Microscopy of two species, Biflustra grandicella and Jellyella eburnea, are provided herein.
