Along the evolution of information and communication technologies, manufacturing embedded systems such as PDA (personal digital assistant), HPC (hand -held PC), settop box. and information appliance became realistic. And RTOS (real-time operating system) and filesystem have been played essential re]os within the embedded systems as well. For the filesystem of embedded systems, flash memory has been used extensively instead of traditional hard disk drives because of embedded system's requirements like portability, fast access time, and low power consumption. Other than these requirements, nonvolatile storage characteristic of flash memory is another reason for wide adoption in industry. However, there are some technical challenges to cope with to use the flash memory as an indispensable component of the embedded systems. These would be relatively slow cleaning time and the limited number of times to write-and-clean. In this paper, a new cleaning policy is proposed to overcome the problems mentioned above and relevant performance comparison results will be provided. Ranking cleaning policy(RCP) decides when and where to clean within the flash memory considering the cost of cleaning and the number of times of cleaning. This method will maximize not only the lifetime of flash memory but also the performance of access time and manageability. As a result of performance comparison, RCP has showed about 10 ~ 50% of performance evolution compared to traditional policies, Greedy and Cost-benefit methods, by write throughputs.

In the field of healthcare, the conventional sterilization treatments have been replaced by irradiation methods which are in accordance with internationally well established quality standards. The quality control in radiation sterilization assures that the absorbed dose of the irradiated material is in agreement with its requirements and standards. The electron beam irradiation requires technical assessments of more process parameters than gamma irradiation does. Korea has witnessed wide uses of electron accelerators since early 2000 but there hasn't been research experiences relating to quality system in accordance with international standards. The new large scale e-beam irradiation system with the specification of 10 MeV, 8 kW was installed and operated in 2008 by Seoul Radiology Services Co. It consists of the electron accelerator, product handling system, safety, documentation and control subsystems into an integrated system to meet the requirement of the Good Manufacturing Practice such as process quality assurance and management of product tracking records. To implement the international standard such as EN ISO11137, it is necessary to understand the purposes aimed in the standard and carry out the tests following the procedures required. This study presented the specification of the e-beam facility and showed what its design requirements and features are. The test results on a variety of process parameters were presented and validated it they are within the required limits.
Purpose: A soft contact lens was manufactured by adding naringin known as natural anti-bacterial material to resin solution. With solution eluted from manufactured contact lens, we examined its optical properties, physical and chemical states of naringin in the polymer, and elution properties. Methods: The soft contact lens with naringin was synthesized by bulk polymerization method. IR spectrum and HPLC were used to define the bonding type of naringin itself in the soft contact lens contained naringin, elution process of naringin to the saline solution, and the amount of naringin solution eluted from the lens with elapsed time. Results: Naringin was continuously eluted with constant concentration from the soft contact lens for about a month and the structure ofnaringin which is eluted was as same as before it was added to resin solution. Any change in optical properties such as transmittance couldn't be found. Bonding state and the structure of naringin in contact lens were explained with IR spectrum and HPLC results. Conclusions: In the contact lens with naringin, naringin remained in the contact lens bonding with weak hydrogen bonding and/or van der Waals force between naringin and polymer. Naringin was continuously eluted from the contact lens contained naringin during about 1 month. Even after 1 month, it showed that the concentration of the naringin eluted was approximately 10 ppm in a day. From the results, adding naringin to the soft contact lens resin is very effective method for manufacturing the soft contact lens which has anti-bacterial function for a period of time.
Purpose: To design an anamorphic aspherical prism lens for the HMD optical system. Methods: First, we get the initial data, needed in design, which are distances between each surface etc., by analyzing user's demended specifications and by drawing geometrically the shape of prism lens by using CAD. Based on these data and using 'ode V' which is an optical design software, we could progress the optimization in which we treat the coefficients of the anamorphic aspherical surface as the principal variables. To reduce the cost in DTM manufacturing, we would optimize the optical system with the transmitting surface, existed in the direction of video device among 3 surfaces of the prism lens, remaining as a plane. Results: we could design one anamorphic aspherical prism lens which has the finite ray aberration of 15 ${\mu}m$, the distortion of 0.5%, and the MTF value of 0.3 over at 36 lp/mm for the video device of 12 mm ${\times}$ 9 mm size. Conclusions: We designed a prism lens used for HMD. This prism lens has the optical capacities of 15 ${\mu}m$ finite ray aberration and 0.5% distortion for the video device of 12 mm ${\times}$ 9 mm size, and become the optical system having the MTF value of 0.3 over at 36 lp/mm.

Objectives: The aim of the present study was undertaken to investigate the association between communication for chemical hazard information and characteristics of occupational safety and health managers. Subjects and Methods: We surveyed 78 occupational safety and health managers(64 male and 14 female) in 78 chemical manufacturing plants. Data were obtained using a self-reported questionnaire about size and type of company, products, communication system for chemicals and work-related characteristics of occupational safety and health managers. All analyses in this study were performed using SPSS program 12.0. Results: 64.1% of the study participants were occupational health managers aged 39.3 years on average and were graduated from college and university around 90%. 30.0% and of them were majoring in chemistry (engineering chemistry), 18.0% occupational health, 16% nursing and 30.0% others. Occupational safety managers were aged 39.4 years on average, 42.9% of them were majoring in chemistry (engineering chemistry), 21.4% environmental engineering, 10.7% occupational safety and 25% others. 86% of occupational health managers and 71.4% of occupational safety managers were classified as office job. Over 94% of the hazards information for chemicals were delivered by occupational safety and health managers, but about 28.2% workers preferred outside experts who have a profound knowledge about occupational safety and health and understandable. Occupational safety and health managers and workers had difficulties in understanding toxicological information, hazards identification, stability/reactivity, composition/information on ingredients, physical/chemical properties and ecological information. On multiple logistic regression analysis for the 16 heading of material safety data sheet, content of material safety data sheet was significantly associated with education level (odds ratio=0.286, 95% confidence interval=0.105-0.780). The hazard identification (odds ratio=3.947, 95% confidence interval=1.092-14.271) and toxicological information (odds ratio=0.841, 95% confidence interval=0.705-0.998) were significantly associated with type of occupation. Conclusions: This finding implies that the education level, type of occupation and speciality of occupational safety and health managers may affects hazards information delivery.

The technology of multistage deep drawing has been widely applied in the metal forming industry, in order to reduce both the manufacturing cost and time. A battery can used for mobile phone production is a well-known example of multistage deep drawing. It is very difficult to manufacture a battery can, however, because of its large thickness to height aspect ratio. Furthermore, the production of the final parts may result in assembly failure due to springback after multistage deep drawing. In industry, empirical methods such as over bending, corner setting and ironing have been used to reduce springback. In this study, a bottoming approach using the finite element method is proposed as a practical and scientific method of reducing springback. Bottoming induces compression stress in the deformed blank at the final stroke of the punch and, thus, has the effect of reducing springback. Different cases of the bottoming process are studied using the finite element program, DYNAFORM, to determine the optimal die design. The results of the springback simulation after bottoming were found to be in good agreement with the experimental results. In conclusion, the proposed bottoming method is expected to be widely used as a practical method of reducing springback in industry.

Background: Since Jan. 2012, for performance evaluation of viral reagents, analysis of domestic samples has been recommended in order to obtain approval from the KFDA when they are first introduced to Korea. This regulation requires the standard domestic materials driven from locally infected samples. We tried manufacturing the plasma working standards of HBV, HCV, and HIV NAT using a mixed titer of viral loads. Methods: Forty three HBV DNA positive plasmas, 25 HCV RNA positive plasmas, and 26 HIV RNA positive plasmas were evaluated according to viral load and genotype. Several plasma units, which had high-titer viral loads and the common viral genotypes in Korea, were selected as the source materials for each viral standard. To adjust the appropriate concentration based on the detectable range of variable viral reagents, the source plasma was diluted to several concentrations, divided into small vials, and analyzed for quantification. Results: The 13 plasma working standards, which had variable viral loads for the mixed titer performance panel of HIV, HCV, and HBV NAT, were produced. Conclusion: These national standard materials were first produced in order to supply the mixed titer performance panel for the viral NAT reagent of the level IV transfusion related high-risk group in Korea.

Tensile strength showed to be increased in the Level 8 samples applied by the formulations containing 4- and 6-gram strength. Absorbance using methylene blue showed to be decreased in all the samples after the application, based on the absorbance results before and after the application. No difference was found in all the samples on the gloss. In conclusion, this study revealed that kelp extract could improve the damaged hair. Further studies are required to check the improvement effects on the damaged hair with multiple types of extracts and study methods.
Due to the recent development of system semiconductors, technical innovation for the electric devices of the automobile industry is rapidly progressing. In particular, the electric device of automobiles is accelerating technology development competition among automobile parts makers, and the development cycle is also changing rapidly. Due to these changes, the importance of strategic planning for R&D is further strengthened. Due to the paradigm shift in the automobile industry, the Product-Technical Roadmap (P/TRM), one of the R&D strategies, analyzes technology forecasting, technology level evaluation, and technology acquisition method (Make/Collaborate/Buy) at the planning stage. The product-technical roadmap is a tool that identifies customer needs of products and technologies, selects technologies and sets development directions. However, most companies are developing the product-technical roadmap through a qualitative method that mainly relies on the technical papers, patent analysis, and expert Delphi method. In this study, empirical research was conducted through simulations that can supplement and strengthen the product-technical roadmap centered on the automobile industry by fusing Gartner's hype cycle, cumulative moving average-based data preprocessing, and deep learning (LSTM) time series analysis techniques. The empirical study presented in this paper can be used not only in the automobile industry but also in other manufacturing fields in general. In addition, from the corporate point of view, it is considered that it will become a foundation for moving forward as a leading company by providing products to the market in a timely manner through a more accurate product-technical roadmap, breaking away from the roadmap preparation method that has relied on qualitative methods.

In this paper, methods for manufacturing shielding concrete by recycling steelmaking slag discarded as industrial waste and measuring the shielding effectiveness of the shielding concrete were studied. By comparing the result of shielding effectiveness measurement of this concrete block with shielding effectiveness measurement of the structure constructed with this concrete, the measurement system for measuring shielding effectiveness of the concrete block was verified. The size of the concrete stru ctu re is 2.9 × 2.9 × 3.4m and the concrete block is 0.3 × 0.3 × 0.2m. The frequ ency band u sed for mesu rement is 600MHz - 2GHz, the types of concrete u sed to measu re the shielding effectiveness are general concrete and concrete containing electric arc furnace oxidizing slag. In the case of the concrete structure, reinforcing rebars are installed at intervals of 15cm for stru ctu ral safety, as the frequ ency increase, the electromagnetic wave properties of rebars gradu ally decreased, there was a slight difference in the measurement results. In conclusion, the measurement result of shielding effectiveness of the concrete block is similar to the result of the concrete structure. It is thought that it can be sufficiently utilized for electromagnetic wave engineering design, and the concrete shielding effectiveness measurement system using standard specimens was verified.
