  • This paper shows an autopilot design example with simulation results for a medium range surface-to-air missile used to intercept fast maneuver targets. The missile is assumed to use both aerodynamic fins and side thrusters to achieve fast time response. The steady-state maneuver capability of the missile is assumed to be enough at high altitude to engage usual maneuvering targets. Side thruster is used to get an extremely rapid acceleration response at high altitude where the missile´s aerodynamic control effectiveness is weak.   • An interacting multiple model (IMM) approach which merges two hypotheses for the situations of constant speed and constant acceleration model is considered for the tracking of maneuvering target. The inflexibility of uncertainty which lies in the kinematic constraint (KC) represented by pseudomeasurement noise variance is compensated by the mixing of estimates from two model Kalman tracker: one with KC and one without KC. The numerically simulated tracking performance is compared for the "great circular like turning" trajectory maneuver by the single model tracker with constant speed KC and two model tracker which is developed in this paper.his paper.

Quasi Steady Stall Modelling of Aircraft Using Least-Square Method

  • Quasi steady stall is a phenomenon to characterize the aerodynamic behavior of aircraft at high angle of attack region. Generally, it is exercised from a steady state level flight to stall and its recovery to the initial flight in a calm weather. For a theoretical study, such maneuver is demonstrated in the form of aerodynamic model which consists of aircraft's stability and control derivatives. The current research paper is focused on the appropriate selection of aerodynamic model for the maneuver and estimation of the unknown model coefficients using least-square method. The statistical accuracy of the estimated parameters is presented in terms of standard deviations. Finally, the validation has been presented by comparing the measured data to the simulated data from different models.

  • Recently, many countries have attempted to protect their satellites from damage caused by space debris. To design these collision avoidance maneuvers, optimal algorithms based on numerical simulations are widely used due to their practicality. However, these algorithms often require a great expenditure of time in order to find solutions. Therefore, in this paper, a simple analytical strategy is suggested to find the initial prediction required to find these numerical solutions for collision avoidance maneuvers by using relative dynamics for the rendezvous and docking problems. For this analytical strategy, the simple dynamics on the CW (Clohessy-Wiltshire) frame is adopted as an attempt to introduce an analytical solution.

  • A constraint equation-based control law design for large angle attitude maneuvers of flexible spacecraft is addressed in this paper The tip displacement of the flexible spacecraft model is prescribed in the form of a constraint equation. The controller design is attempted in the way that the constraint equation is satisfied throughout the maneuver. The constraint equation leads to a two-point boundary value problem which needs backward and forward solution techniques to satisfy terminal constraints. An observer-based tracking control law takes the constraint equation as the input to the dynamic observer. The observer state is used in conjunction with the state feedback control law to have the actual system follow the observer dynamics. The observer-based tracking control law eventually turns into a stabilized system with inherent nature of robustness and disturbance rejection in LQR type control laws.

  • KOMPSAT-2 will carry MSC(Multi-Spectral Camera) which provides 1m resolution panchromatic and 4m resolution multi-spectral images at the altitude of 685km sun-synchronous mission orbit. The mission operation of KOMSPAT-2 is to provide the earth observation using MSC with nadir pointing. KOMPSAT-2 will also have the capability of roll/pitch tilt maneuver using reaction wheel of satellite as required. In order to protect MSC from thermal distortion as well as direct sunlight, MSC shall be operated within the constraint of sun incidence angle. It is expected that the sunlight will not violate the constraint of sun incidence angle for normal mission operations without roll/pitch maneuver. However, during roll/pitch tilt operations, optical module of MSC may be damaged by the sunlight. This study analyzed sun incidence angle of payload using KOMPSAT-2 AOCS (Attitude and Orbit Control Subsystem) Design and Performance Analysis Soft ware for KOMPSAT-2 normal mission operations.

  • A fuzzy driver model based on a preview-predictor and yaw rate is developed. The model is used to investigate the handling performance of two wheel steering system(2WS) and four wheel steering system(4WS) vehicles. The two degree-of- freedom model which has yaw and lateral motion predicts the path of the vehicles. Based upon the yaw rate and lateral deviations, the fuzzy engine describes the human driver's complicated control behavior which is adjusted for the driving environment. Both typical single lane change maneuver and double lane change maneuver are adopted to demonstrate the feasibility of fuzzy driver model.

Tree Species Preference and Inter-specific Difference of Foraging Maneuver, Trees and Location among Four Canopy-dwelling Birds at High-elevation Temperate Deciduous Forest in Mt. Jumbongsan

  • This study was conducted to reveal tree species preference and inter-specific difference of foraging behavior among four canopy-dwelling birds at forest dominated by Quercus mongolica, Acer pseudosieboldian and Carpinus cordata at 1,000 meters above sea level during breeding season of birds from 1995 to 1997 in Mt. Jumbongsan. Breeding birds were about 25 species and dominant birds were Erithacus cyane, Parus ater and Parus palustris. A relatively high number of bush-nesters can be a characteristic of breeding bird community at study area. Three gleaners (Tits, P. varius, P. palustris and P. ater) selectively preferred the trees irrespective of dominant tree species, whereas bark foragers (Nuthatch, Sitta europaea) utilized the dominant trees. The four birds showed significant inter-specific difference in use of foraging location, but the three tits did not show significant inter-specific difference in use of foraging maneuver and trees. Closely related tits may coexist with each other by inter-specific different use of foraging location determined by foliage structure and leaf arrangement.

충돌회피를 위한 극한 운전시 자동차의 동적안정성 해석 (Dynamic Stability Analysis of A Vehicle in Limit Driving for Crash Avoidance)

  • In this study, vehicle directional stability is investigated for limit driving for crash avoidance maneuver using a full vehicle dynamic model. The model was analytically validated using typical step steering and lane change simulation. Limit driving condition for the vehicle model was quoted from research results of references. It was demonstrated that instable vehicle motion was caused by not only road conditions but also driving conditions. Also, the simulation showed that braking combined with steering caused very hazardous situation in crash avoidance maneuver. Finally, phase plane plot approach was used to evaluate the dynamic instability.

성상신경절 차단으로 치료했던 양성 발작성 현기증 1예 (A Case of Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo Treated with Stellate Ganglion Block)

  • A fourty-year-old housewife was admitted to the Department of Ear, Nose, and Throat from the emergency room, because of severe vertigo associated with positional changes of the head. Hallpike maneuver produced typical patterns of bilateral nystagmus consistent with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo(BPPV), and further geotropic rotatory nystagmus with positional change of the head in each direction. Direction of nystagmus reversed when the patients was repositioned upright. Particle repositioning maneuver was administered to her left ear but failed to relieve the severe dizziness associated with the head turning to the right. She was then referred to the patient received 27 SGB treatments and the patients was almost completely healed. It is unusual for the BPPV to occur bilaterally therefore reference concerning the effectiveness of SGB for the treatment of BPPV was difficult to obtain. In conclusion we would like to report the successful treatment of BPPV with SGB.
