  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of leader-member exchange (LMX) on envy and counterproductive behaviors (CWB) moderated by similarity. Specifically, we focused on the negative side of LMX to examine the relationship between LMX and envy, and the mediating role of envy on the relationship between LMX and CWB. Further, we also examined the moderating role of similarity on the relationship between envy and CWB. Given that CWB can be harmful to any organizational, it was worthwhile to find possible antecedents of CWB, envy and LMX. A total number of 238 employees participated in this study and the results supported our hypotheses. The results of this study can have managerial implications, showing the important role of manager's personalized treatment for each of his/her subordinates.

  • This study shows that consumers' attitudes and behaviors are rapidly changing due to the COVID-19 outbreak in a situation where consumption patterns are already changing due to demographic changes such as an increase in the number of single-person households and dual-income couples. To this end, the results of an online survey conducted on 500 panels of Nielsen Korea were used in this study. In particular, consumers were divided into two generation groups (Generation Z vs. Millennial) and analyzed and presented changes in consumption activities and food purchasing behaviors changed by COVID-19. As a result, the existing online distribution trend has been strengthened, and its impact has been amplified by COVID-19. These changes also resulted in different consumption behaviors depending on the degree of concern for COVID-19 by generation. Based on the results of this study, it turns consumers' behavioral changes into new opportunities, focusing on the accelerating a new 'contactless' lifestyle, which will provide managerial implications for the food industry's response strategies in relation to the theoretical significance and in practice.

  • In this paper, we examined the effects of emotional and individual variables on flow in the usage of mobile application. We selected four relevant emotional and individual factors such as positive affect, negative affect, addiction and habituation. We also attempted to figure out the moderating role of communication in the effect of positive affect, negative affect, and addiction on the flow. For empirical analysis, we surveyed real users of mobile application and applied PLS (Partial Least Square) methodology for SEM (Structural Equation Modeling). As a result, we found that positive affect, addiction, and habituation have significant and positive impact on the flow. Furthermore, we also found that the moderating effects of communication on the relationships between positive/negative affect and communication are significant. Our findings provide important theoretical grounds for the effects of human behavior and emotion on the flow of mobile applications. Lastly, we also suggest significant managerial implications for the development mobile applications industry.

  • The growing popularity of mobile application has led to researchers and practitioners needing to understand users' mobile application download behaviors. Using large-scale transaction data obtained from a leading Korean telecommunications company, we empirically explore how application download rank, which appears to users when they decide to download a new application, affects their extended mobile application download. This terminology refers to downloading an additional application in the same category as those that they have already downloaded. We also consider IT characteristics, user characteristics, and application type that might be associated with the extended application download. The analysis generates the following result. Overall, a higher rank of a new application encourages the extended application download, but the linear relationship between the rank and the extended application download disappears when critical rank points are incorporated into the model. Further, no quadratic effect of rank is found in the extended application download. Based on the results, we suggest theoretical and managerial implications.

Past research indicates that TQM managerial practices are a critical determinant of employee's attitude and performance in the workplace. Therefore, this study investigates a model examining the relationship among TQM, employees' attitude and service performance in a hospital. Our measurement results were acceptable in terms of reliability and validity. The statistical testing shows significance on the positive relationship in the sequential order of TQM, employee's attitude and service performance. In conclusion, the theoretical and practical implications of this study were discussed, along with its limitations.

  • Service industries are rapidly increased and the environment of service is also changing in healthcare settings. Those make them change their management strategies and carry out many researches. Till now, single-item behavioral intention scale or direct measuring has some limitations that we have to consider its efficiency and it is difficult to explain phenomena of broad part in the process of determining behavioral intentions. In this paper, we examine the dimensionality of healthcare service in Korea through the multi-item behavioral intention scale. In addition, we are going to investigate the nature of the relationship between service quality perceptions which have unique construct, and consumer satisfaction judgements in the formation of consumers' behavioral intentions. we are going to conclude that the linear combination model of service quality and customer satisfaction can describe the process of formation of customers' behavioral intentions best and provide some managerial implications to decision makers for redistribution of materials and human resources.

  • Recent entrepreneurship studies emphasize the importance of entrepreneurial activities of entrepreneurs. This study focuses entrepreneurial behaviors, especially entrepreneurial networking activities of Korean high-tech ventures. Networking activities can utilize external resources which are critical to success, with less resource commitment. This study examines the relationship between characteristics of entrepreneurial networking and performance, and analyses influencing factors of entrepreneurial networking activities. Based on the data from 55 new high-tech ventures in Korea, hypotheses that the characteristics of entrepreneurial networking are related to the performance of new high-tech ventures are tested using regression analysis and t-test. Major findings of this study are as follows: (1) entrepreneurial networking are related to the performance of new high-tech ventures, (2) significant differences are found in the characteristics of entrepreneurial networking between high- and low-performance firms, (3) characteristics of entrepreneurs and firm' technological capabilities are related to the degree of entrepreneurial networking activities. Finally, managerial and policy implications of the study are presented and future research directions are also suggested.

  • The purpose of this study was to test system model for family resources management developed by Deacon and Firebaugh. The data were collected by means of a questionnaire destributed to a stratified sample of 600 housewives living in Seoul. The questionnaires specially developed by the researchers contained of 118 items. the coefficient alpha reliability estimate for this instrument was conducted using Cronbach' procedures. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentile, mean, step wise multiple regression and path analysis. The results of path analysis showed that the level of the elements of satisfaction with the management was correlated with demands(the household size, the age of the last child, employment status of respondents), resources(marital satisfaction, health of respondents), and throughput(standard setting, reality in planning, the existence of facilitating conditions). A system model for family resource management received considerabel empirical support. This presumed that the components of demands lead to the lower satisfaction with management. The throughput components were also important in explaining satisfaction with management some of research and methodology issues for the advanced study were suggested.
