환경.에너지 과학 R&D 정보 역기능 요인 분석: 디지털 네트워크 정보검색(NIR) 환경 적응사례 (Disfunctional Factors of R&D Information Retrieval Utilization: the Case of Environmental Science Database & Networks)

  • 본 연구는 국내 환경·에너지 공학 분야 연구기관을 대상으로 다양한 유형의 연구소 현황을 조사하고, 최근에 이루어진 연구결과의 데이터베이스 구축 등의 정보화 여부와 환경·에너지 R&D 정보 활용여부와 자원공유를 위한 연구기관들간의 협력적 네트워크 활용의 실태를 진단했다. 정보화와 정보 활용을 방해하는 역기능 요인 분석결과를 중심으로 21세기 핵심 R&D 정보활용과 보다 전문적이고 수준 높은 연구환경을 고무시킬 수 있는 방안을 제시했다.

  • Diabetic complication is one of major risk factors leading to vascular disease such as atherosclerosis, stroke, coronary heart disease and etc. Several factors affecting the acceleration of diabetic vascular complication have been known such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, immune complex and genetic factors. To screen and develop new therapeutics agents for diabetic vascular complication, it is strongly needed to develop animal models for diabetic complications. However in rodents models, diabetic complications is not well developed. Furthermore to assess the possibility of new therapeutics for diabetic vascular complications, diabetic animal models which have the risk factors of diabetic complications is needed. We aim to develop and establish an diabetic animal model which have diabetic complications with hyperlipidemia which is one of risk factors for diabetic complications. We induced insulin -dependent diabetes by intra. venous injection of streptozotocin (35 mg/kg/day) in RICO rats which is a spontaneous animal model for hyperlipidemia. Our models (STZ RICO) showed hyperglycemia, persistent high level of plasma cholesterol and triglyceridemia with severe diabetic renal changes until 28 weeks after induction of diabetes. STZ-RICO rats could be used for the evaluations of newly developed diabetic drugs.

도시 소하천 경관의 시각적 선호 이미지와 영향요인 (Visual Impact Factor and Preference Image of Urban Stream Landscape)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate factors and variables which have significant effects on visual preference of urban stream in Taejon city and to suggest design & management information for urban stream. These works consist of two phases. First, we tested the Hyechon college students' visual preference for 36 spots of urban stream slide and then selected 10 spots slide by the Sturges' formula. Second, we analyzed factors and variables of visual preference of urban stream using the semantic differential scale method and then processed using descriptive analysis, factor analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The major findings of this study can be summarized as follows. 1. The difference of landscape adjectives between the highest score of visual preference slide (No.10) and the lowest score of visual preference slide (No.2) was cleanness. 2. Three factors, the nature, the cleanness and the movement, were derived from the factor analysis. 3. Factors covering the visual preference of urban stream have been found to be the landscape of urban stream, the nature, the cleanness, and the movement. The visual preference factors of urban stream need to be considered in creating or restoring the ecological urban stream landscape.

주산지 기상정보를 활용한 주요 채소작물의 단수 예측 모형 개발 (Development on Crop Yield Forecasting Model for Major Vegetable Crops using Meteorological Information of Main Production Area)

  • The importance of forecasting agricultural production is receiving attention while climate change is accelerating. This study suggested three types of crop yield forecasting model for major vegetable crops by using downscaled meteorological information of main production area on farmland level, which identified as limitation from previous studies. First, this study conducted correlation analysis with seven types of farm level downscaled meteorological informations and reported crop yield of main production area. After, we selected three types of meteorological factors which showed the highest relation with each crop species and regions. Parameters were deducted from meterological factor with high correlation but crop species number was neglected. After, crop yield of each crops was estimated by using the three suggested types of models. Chinese cabbage showed high accuracy in overall, while the accuracy of daikon and onion was quiet revised by neglecting the outlier. Chili and garlic showed differences by region, but Kyungbuk chili and Chungnam, Kyungsang garlic appeared significant accuracy. We also selected key meteorological factor of each crops which has the highest relation with crop yield. If the factor had significant relation with the quantity, it explains better about the variations of key meteorological factor. This study will contribute to establishing the methodology of future studies by estimating the crop yield of different species by using farmland meterological information and relatively simplify multiple linear regression models.

원격탐사자료를 활용한 기상학적 가뭄 시 식생의 생태학적 가뭄 상태 모니터링 (Monitoring the Ecological Drought Condition of Vegetation during Meteorological Drought Using Remote Sensing Data)

  • 기상학적 요인에 의해 발생하는 가뭄은 육상 생태계의 식생에 부정적인 영향을 미친다. 본 연구에서는 기상학적 가뭄이 식생에 영향을 미치는 상태를 식생의 생태가뭄으로 정의하고, 영향 정도를 정량적으로 감시하기 위한 식생의 생태가뭄 상태지수(ecological drought condition index of vegetation, EDCI-veg)를 제안하였다. EDCI-veg는 식생과 기상학적 가뭄 정보 사이의 copula 기반의 이변량 결합확률모델로부터 도출되며, 가뭄이 발생했을 때 현재의 식생 상태가 가뭄으로 인해 얼마나 영향을 받았는지를 수치로 표현할 수 있다. 과거의 기상학적 가뭄 사상과 그에 대응하는 식생 상태를 비교하여 제안된 지수를 살펴본 결과, EDCI-veg는 식생의 생태가뭄을 적절하게 모니터링할 수 있음이 확인되었다. 또한, 원격탐사자료를 활용하여 고해상도의 가뭄 지도를 작성함으로써 생태가뭄 상태를 공간적으로 식별할 수 있었다.

선박제도에 영향을 미치는 인간 및 정보요인에 관한 시뮬레이션 연구 (A Study on Simulation of the Human and Informational Effect of Ship's controllability)

  • The safety of the ship manoeuver is dependent not only on the inherent characteristics of the ship itself and environmental conditions, but also on the skill and experience of the ship operator. As the ship operator's judgement is related to his experience and skill, based on outside information, piloted controllability also depends upon the effectiveness, accuracy and reliability of various information which is obtainable from navigational equipments and aids to navigation that are available to the ship ope-rator. Although these factors, human factors and informational factors, have been pointed out as major factors which affect the controllability of a ship, there was no a comprehensive examination on the effect of these two factors. In this thesis, therefore, an attempt was made to examine whether or not there is clear indication that these two factors affect the controllability of a ship in reality. Experiments were conducted using the port design simulator of the Korea Maritime University.

TWINSPAN 과 CANOCO 에 의한 주요 활엽수 군집과 환경의 상호관계 분석 (An Analysis of the Vegetation-Environment Relationships in Major Hardwood Communities by TWINSPAN and CANOCO)

  • Deciduous hardwood communities were ecologically analyzed in order to determine their distributional characteristics. The quadrats were sampled in Mt. Chiri, Mt. Deokyu, Mt. Kyeryong, Mt. Sokri, and Mt. Jungwang, and their environmental factors including topographical features as well as soil properties were investigated. The computer program TWINSPAN and CANOCO were used to elucidate the relationship between environmental factors and species composition. In the relations of communities and environmental factors, the optimal ecological habitats of Carpinus tschonoskii community could be the sites at low latitudes such as the regions of southern part of Korea in which total nitrogen and organic matters are rich, while those of Fraxinus mandshurica community, Acer mono community, and Betula costata community could be the sites which are wet and have high total nitrogen and organic matters in soil. The quercus mongolica community is distributed widely throughout Korea, and its ecological habitats could be the sites which have high soil nutrient and moderate soil moisture in central and northern parts of Korea, while those of Quercus variabilis community could be the sites which is dry and have high Mg and C.E.C. value.

  • In Korea, ground water exploration by the electric method as a major prospecting tool has been carried out mainly in alluvial deposits, So it is considered to be important to understand the principle concerning the electrical and hydrological properties of alluvium. Factors which affect on the electrical and hydrological properties of alluvium were investigated. Major elements in ground water exploration are porosity and dermeability for most alluvial deposits with exceptions in some particular areas. Much water yield can be expected where alluvial materials have large porosity and small particle size while large particle size in necessary for good permeability. Problem is to locate the points which have comparatively large porosity and good permeability at a time. It is known that electrical resistivity method is proved useful to solve the above problem. The conclusion is: Localities which have greater alluvium thickness(7 to 10m) and 200 to 500 ohm -m of real resistivity value are suitable for well site in alluvial deposits in Korea where alluvium thickness is comparatively small(less than 10m in generaa) and bedrock formations are mainly composed of granite gneiss and granite.

  • At Recent the number of livestock is rapidly increased and the scale of farm has changed to large operations in Korea. So the odors from livestock feeding operations have increased and become major environmental problem. The odor emission are dependent on the types of manure management system and the meteorological factors. This report presents the results of a questionnaire on the odor characteristics from livestock facilities for the beef, dairy, swine and poultry. It is founded that the impact by odors from the facilities for swine and poultry is higher than cow and dairy, and the odor intensity at morning is higher than other times.

  • This study was designed to find answers for the two questions that had been raised in the study of Lee and Fortner(2000): 1) How can the appropriateness of classification of environmental issues by perceived certainty and tangibility be improved? and 2) How are perceived certainty, tangibility, significance of environmental issues and willingness to act to solve those problems related to each other? A questionnaire consisted of 40 questions was administered to 144 college students. Results of the study revealed that classification through cluster analysis appeared to be more appropriate and credible than classification by mean scores or medians. Four major factors were found to have high positive correlations to each other as hypothesized. These results imply for environmental educators that people's attitude toward and behavior on environmental problems are likely to be more strongly and meaningfully associated with their perceptions of those problems that are subjective and flexible than physical or chemical characteristics of the problems that are frequently considered as objective.
