관개용수로의 비용분석에 관한 연구 (Cost Comparisou of Conveyance Systems for Irrigation Districts)

  • This paper compares the estimated total construction and maintenance costs for irrigation canals in six irrigation districts near Pyongtaek. Three conventional canal types were considered: concrete bench flumes, concrete-lined canals, and earth canals. The total expenses for each type were grouped to four catagories: the net construction, land acquisition, maintenance, and other expenses. The construction costs included the assumed costs for conveyance losses from each type of canals. The results from this study support earlier studies that the bench flumes are economically feasible. Initially cheaper conveyance systems like concrete-lined and earth canals demand 'higher maintenance costs and thus, their total expenses are summed to exceed those for the bench flumes within a few years following the construction. Banch flumes are economically justifiable for the main canals of the studying districts. Sensitivity analyses were executed to evaluate the relative importance of each expense to the total cost. The analyses show that total expenses very significantly with the change of the following costs: cost for conveyance losses, net construction, maintenance, and land acquisition, in that order However, other expenses contribute little if not at all to the total. The results indicate that bench flumes should be adopted as main canal structures for most irrigation districts in the Republic.

  • This purposes of this study is to develope policies on the facilities for the elderly care in Korea. Methodology of this study adopts comparative analysis on the facilities for the elderly care in 6 countries which have experienced various problems on the elderly. These 6 countries are Japan, Sweden, America, Australian, England and Germany. Major issues for comparative analysis are the standard of care facilities, residence condition, finance of facilities establishment and expense, operating system, management, and the law and administrative structure about the facilities for the elderly care. The elderly people need various kinds of welfare services such as medical care facilities, nursing home facilities, home care facilities etc.. Thus the public policies for the aging population nations are compose of income maintenance program, health and medical care services and social welfare services. The policies of facilities for elderly care are very important since these policies include the characteristics of income maintenance, me\ulcorner미 care program and welfare program. This study willsupply basic data for the development of facilities for the elderly care in Korea, especially conceming the system and institutional device of the facilities.

  • The length of city gas pipeline is increasing with expansion of natural gas transmission rapidly. A lot of the expense was paid for repair and maintenance with increasing of pipeline length and the cost of repair and maintenance by the corrosion was the highest. It is necessary to evaluate integrity in case of thickness reduction by corrosion. There are a lot of assessment criteria for corrosion defect in foreign countries but they are not suitable for application in the country directly. In this work, we performed the burst test and the finite element analysis for city gas pipeline, KS D3507 and KS D3631 for city gas transmission, and developed the assessment method of corrosion defect, which is suitable for domestic condition.

에너지 효율로 본 상업용 건물의 적정 창호에 관한 연구 (The optimal window system of office buildings considering energy efficiency)

  • The purpose of this study is to improve energy efficiency of windows in office buildings through the evaluation of their heating, cooling and illumination load. Energy efficiency is influenced by window size which is determined at the early stage of building design. The process of this study is as follows. First, energy performance is analysed according to the various rates of windows through computer simulation (ECOTECT). Then, the annual heating, cooling and illuminating loads according to the different window sizes are compared one another. Results indicated that the optimal window size considering energy efficiency is 50% of the surface area. When the window size is 50% of the surface area, annual maintenance expense is also smallest. Since the cost of cooling is larger than that of heating, too low indoor air temperature in summer is unfavorable based on the reasonable annual maintenance expenses.

  • This paper introduces the IN-FLEX system using aluminum clad flex cable, which is expected to alternate the conventional wiring method, such as, a steel pipe wiring method, and a synthetic resin pipe wiring method. The aluminum clad flex cable has a superior operation characteristics in heat dissipation property, in installation and maintenance facility, flammability, and appearance. Moreover, the IN-FLEX system adopted an easy connection mechanism which enable to reduce the time, hands and expense for the installation and maintenance of the system. Certification tests verifying the superior operation characteristics and reliability of the system using aluminum clad flex cable were carried with standard method in KOLAS certification institute.

  • 분산파일시스템 환경에서는 디스크 접근 비용을 줄이기 위해 각 노드에 캐시된 데이터를 서로 공유하는 협력캐시 알고리즘이 사용된다. 협력캐시 알고리즘은 분산되어있는 시스템들의 캐시정보를 서로 공유하여 가상으로 더 큰 캐시를 형성함으로써 캐시 히트율을 높이고 디스크 접근을 줄이는 방법이다. 기존에 제안된 협력캐시 알고리즘들은 캐시에 대한 근사정보를 이용하여 메시지 비용을 줄이고, 로컬캐시영역과 글로벌캐시 영역을 가변적으로 사용하여 캐시 히트율을 높이고 있다. 또한 버퍼 교체 시 교체된 버퍼를 비활동적인 노드로 보내어 계속 캐시에 유지하도록 하여 전역 버퍼 히트율을 높이는 장점을 갖는다. 그러나 잘못된 근사정보가 성능을 저하시킬 수 있으며 일관성 유지를 위한 메시지교환 비용이 많이 든다는 단점을 갖고 있다. 또한 비활동적인 노드를 선정하기 위해 사용되는 각 노드의 에이지 정보 관리비용이 많이 드는 단점을 갖고 있다. 본 논문에서는 정확한 캐시정보를 유지하며 일관성 유지비용과 버퍼 에이지 정보 관리비용을 최소화시키는 협력캐시 알고리즘을 제안한다. 그리고 성능평가를 통해 기존의 협력캐시 알고리즘과 비교하여 제안하는 알고리즘의 우수성을 보인다.

  • Generally, as corrosive protection processing of a steel structure, zinc galvanizing and heavy duty coating paint are applied. However, zinc galvanizing has the difficulty of restriction of a size, or on-site construction. Moreover, heavy duty coating paint has a problem with many administrative and maintenance expenses with short problem of adhesion, corrosion generating of a damage portion, and maintenance management cycle. In this study, a salt water spray test, CASS test, and the electrochemistry examination were carried out for the thermal metal spray method of construction for corrosive protection performance evaluation. Moreover, the corrosive protection life of a thermal metal spray method of construction was quantitatively calculated on the basis of this experiment. in consideration of LCC, the economical efficiency of a general corrosive protection method of construction and a thermal metal corrosive protection method of construction was compared. Consequently, although initial construction expense was estimated 16 to $30\%$ high, as for a thermal metal spray method of construction, it turns out that the administrative and maintenance expenses for 100 years became cheap 9.3 to 13 or more times.

한국과 미국의 공동주택 관리제도 비교 (The Comparison of Apartment Management System between Korea and America)

  • This research is carried out to investigate the Condominium Management System of the states of California and Hawaii, and to examine the similarities and the differences between the Korean Apartment Management System and the American Condominium Management System. The research indicates: first, in Korea the management of apartment units is the Commission of the Representatives of the Occupants, while in America the management of condominiums is the Association of Apartment Owners, an organization of condominium owners in America. Second, it is required that apartment developers should submit such a document as the Public Report in America, which explains various matters concerning legal rights on condominium buildings and the outline of the buildings, to the authorities concerned in Korea. It can help the authorities to accumulate management techniques of the apartment complex, which could efficiently be used in practicing and planning city housing policies. Third, each apartment's management company in Korea is bound to make long term plans for maintenance based on the Housing Law. It is, however, difficult to reserve an adequate amount of money for the reserve fund, because its use is decided according to the maintenance rule which has a criterion different from each and every apartment management. Concludingly, an amendment of the Housing Law in Korea is required, in order to reserve at least 50 percent of the estimated sum of maintenance expense in future like Hawaii State in America.

  • Together with the trend of enhancement in domestic industrial development and economic progress due to import and export, the demand for construction of the roads, bridges, especially port facilities, and several coastal protection and ocean structures is increasing rapidly. MOMAF of Korean Government is driving construction of 9 new ports and renovation of the existing fishery ports. Among these structures most of bridge base, wharves, dolphins, quays, and jetties are being newly built of steel or concrete pile. As the base, supporting bulkheads, and piles are underwater after construction, it is difficult to figure out the status of structures and not enough to get maintenance and strengthen the structures. Every year, moreover, these works suck the government budget due to higher incomplete maintenance expense for protection from corrosions of structures and increased underwater construction period. for the purpose of cutting down the government budget, it is necessary to extend the life cycle of the existing structures. We developed a new method for maintenance of submerged structures near the waterline by allowing dry work environment with the floating caisson. The method shows easy to move around the working area and handle. It also showed not only a significant reduction of maintenance expenses and time for anti-corrosion work but also better protection. This will be a milestone to reduce the maintenance and construction expenses for the shore and water structures.
