  • The purpose of this paper is an adaptive image interpolation using parametric cubic convolution. Proposed method derive parameter of adapting the frequency from adjacent values. The parameter optimize the interpolation kernel of cubic convolution. Simulation results show that the proposed method is superior to the conventional method in terms of the subjective and objective image quality.

  • Lever mechanisms are usually employed to enlarge output displacement in precision stages. In this study, theoretical analysis of a lever is presented including bending effect and relation between dimension parameters and an objective function. The objective function is chosen as multiplication of magnification ratio and forcedisplacement transmission. Through theoretical analysis, this study presents optimal values for the parameters and the analysis is verified by finite element method.

하천유역의 관속식물을 이용한 토양내의 중금속 오염원 제거에 관한 연구 (Study on the Elimination of Heavy Metal Pollutants in the Soil by Vascular Plant in the River Area)

  • 하천 주변에 서식하는 관속식물의 중금속 농축량과 서식지 토양 내의 중금속 함량과의 상관관계를 조사하기 위해 전주시에 위치한 전주천에 서식하는 고마리, 마름 그리고 노랑어리연꽃을 이용하여 Pb, Cu, Zn 및 Fe의 생물학적 농축량을 조사하였고, 재료식물의 서식지 토양 내의 중금속 함량을 분석하여 그 상관관계를 비교ㆍ분석하였다. 그 결과 고마리에서 중금속 농축량은 Pb의 경우 80.4~254.6$mu\textrm{g}$/g, Cu는 284.6~688.4$mu\textrm{g}$/g, Zn는 635.5~1979.4$mu\textrm{g}$/g 그리고 Fe는 1160.0~3590.9$mu\textrm{g}$/g으로 나타났다. 마름에서는 Pb, Cu, Zn 그리고 Fe에서 각각 107.8~306.0$mu\textrm{g}$/g, 282.7~963.0$mu\textrm{g}$/g, 1328.3~3546.9$mu\textrm{g}$/g 그리고 656.8~9944.0$mu\textrm{g}$/g으로 나타났고, 노랑어리연꽃에서는 140.1~193.0$mu\textrm{g}$/g, 187.7~327.3$mu\textrm{g}$/g, 1126.6~1723.6$mu\textrm{g}$/g그리고 611.7~1914.6$mu\textrm{g}$/g으로 나타났다. 재료식물 각 부위별 중금속 농축량은 일반적으로 잎<줄기<뿌리의 순서로 그 농축량이 증가하였다. 서식지에 서식한 재료식물에서의 중금속 농축 양상을 검증하기 위해서 재료식물중 고마리를 선정하여 Pb, Cu그리고 Zn의 농도를 10ppm과 30ppm으로 나누어 단독 또는 복합 처리하여 고마리 내의 중금속 농축량을 분석한 결과 재료식물의 뿌리에서 가장 높은 농축량을 나타냈고, 처리 농도에 따른 중금속 농축량을 비교하면 10ppm처리구에 비해 30ppm 처리구에서 Pb는 2.8배, Cu는 2.0배 그리고 Zn는 2.1배 높았으며 중금속 농축량은 Zn하였다. 재료식물 부위별 농축량은 Pb와 Zn의 경우 줄기<잎<뿌리의 순서로 농축량이 증가하였고, Cu는 잎<줄기<뿌리의 순서로 농축량이 증가하였다. 그리고 중금속을 조합처리한 재료 식물에서 Cu는 Zn의 흡수를 억제하는 결과를 나타냈다. 서식지 토양의 중금속 함량과 식물내의 중금속 농축량을 비교하면 고마리에서는 토양에 비해 Pb는 13.2배, Cu는 73.4배, Zn는 58.7배 그리고 Fe는 13.1배로 높은 농축량을 보였으며 , 마름에서는 Pb, Cu, Zn 그리고 Fe 각각 25.3배, 98.5배, 145.0배 그리고 42.0배로 나타났고, 노랑어리연꽃에서는 11.2배, 47.5배, 87.7배 그리고 28.8배로 농축량이 증가하였다. 서식지 토양의 중금속 함량과 재료식물 내의 중금속 농축량 사이에는 정 상관관계가 있었다.

파노라마방사선사진에 있어서 상층중심면에 관한 연구 (A STUDY ON THE CENTRAL PLANE OF IMAGE LAYER IN PANORAMIC RADIOGRAPH)

  • The purpose of this investigation was to locate the central plane of the image layer on the panoramic machine relative to a specific point on the machine. In the study of the central plane of the image layer of panoramic radiograph, using the Morrita Company PANEX-EC a series of 33 exposures were taken with the 4-5 experimental pins placed in the holes of the plastic model plate, then evaluated by human eye. The author analyzed the central plane of the image layer by Mitutoyo-A-221 and calculated horizontal and vertical magnification ratio in the central plane of the image layer determined experimentally. The results were as follows: 1. The location of the central plane of the image layer determined experimentally was to lateral, compared with manufactural central plane. 2. Horizontal magnification ratio in the central plane of the image layer determined experimentally was 9.25%. 3. Vertical magnification ratio in the central plane of the image layer determined experimentally was 9.17%.

Detection of planetary signals in extremely weak central perturbation microlensing events via next-generation ground-based surveys

  • Even though current microlensing follow-up observations focus on high-magnification events due to the high efficiency of planet detection, it is very difficult to do a confident detection of planets in high-magnification events with extremely weak central perturbations (i.e., the fractional deviation is ${\delta}{\leq}0.02$). For the confident detection of planets in the extremely weak central perturbation events, it is needed both the high cadence monitoring and the high photometric accuracy. A next-generation ground-based observation project, KMTNet (Korea Microlensing Telescope Network), satisfies both the conditions. Here we investigate how well planets in high-magnification events with extremely weak central perturbations are detected by KMTNet. First, we determine the probability of occurrence of events with ${\delta}{\leq}0.02$. From this, we find that for ${\leq}100M_E$ planets in the separation of $0.2AU{\leq}d{\leq}20AU$, events with ${\delta}{\leq}0.02$ occur with a frequency of more than 70%, in which d is the projected planet-star separation. Second, we estimate the efficiency of detecting planetary signals in the events with ${\delta}{\leq}0.02$ via KMTNet. We find that for main-sequence and subgiant source stars, ${\geq}1M_E$ planets can be detected more than 50% in a certain range that has the efficiency of ${\geq}10%$ and changes with the planet mass.

  • 인간의 시각정보처리는 망막에서 입력된 영상을 시각피질에 전달될 때 많은 특성을 가지고 있다. 그 중에서 확대성질과 방향성에 대한 민감도를 분석하여 영상인식에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 한다. 확대성질은 중심와의 영역이 시각피질에서 확대영역으로 할당되는 사실을 확대배율이라고 부른다. 방향수직반응의 가중치와 수평 및 대각선반응의 가중치를 여러 가지로 변동하여 영상의 인식률을 비교함으로써 수직반응 정도에 매우 민감함을 보이며 차후 인간시각모델 구성에 적용하고자 한다.

  • Panoramic radiography is convenient in clinic and visualizes those areas which other technique do not give. But the technique has limitation of image distortion which results from the relationship of the ramus to the focal trough and from the direction of the central ray. This study is, using 7 dry skulls, to determine the effect of rotation of patient's head on reducing those distortion and determine the magnification ratio of images of mandibular condyle in rotated patient head position. The obtained results were as follows: 1. Generally, in panoramic radiography the anterolateral portion of the mandibular condyle was best to be visualized. 2. There are no significant difference between the image readability of anteromedial portion and that of anterocentral portion of the mandibular condyle. 3. Anterolateral portion of the mandibular condyle was better visualized in rotated head position by 20 degree or horizontal condylar inclination than in conventional position or in rotated head position by 10 degree. 4. The magnification ratio of the anteroposterior diameter in the image of mandibular condyle was least in the rotated head position by horizontal inclination of the mandibular condyle and was largest by 20 degree.

배율가변형 계층구성을 이용한 영상의 단계적 전송 (Progressive Image Transmission by Hierarchical Images of arbitrary Ratio)

  • 본 연구에서는 영상데이터 검색시스템에 적합한 계충적 확대축소법을 이용한 영상의 단계적 전송법을 제안한다. 종래의 단계적 전송방법은 계층간의 배율이 4(흑은 1 /4)로 고정되어 있어, 정보량의 증가가 급격히 일어나므로 해상도가 낮은 화면에서 갑자기 높은 화면으로 되지만, 본 방법은 계층간에 배율을 임의로 취할 구 있는 배율가변형 계층성을 단계적 전송에 도입함으로써, 계충간에 정보량을 서서히 증가시켜 전송하고 표시할 수 있으므로 화면의 해상도를 서서히 증가시킬 수 있다. 이 방법은 종래 제안된 LP법보다 압축율이 0.7bit/pel 개선된 상태에서 SNR이 5.7(dB)정도, PCS보다는 중간단계의 SNR이 약 1[dB]정도 개선되 고 있음을 보이고 있다

패션 일러스트레이션의 은유적 표현방법 (The Expression of Metaphor in Fashion Illustration)

  • The purpose of this study was to show a theoretical system of expressional area, the characteristics and the effects which is applied to fashion illustration by metaphor theory. The theoretical system of expressional area was analyzed by category analysis and 150 fashion illustrations from 1900 to 1999 were analyzed by contents analysis. The results of this study were as follows: Metaphor in fashion illustration was categorized to replacement, parody, heterogeneous combination, surrealism, magnification and reduction of size, optical illusion, juxtaposition and distortion of form. In detail, First, replacement was showed omission of form, non-object color, texture. Second, parody was showed using the part in artistic work, differentiation of original work. Third, heterogeneous combination was showed unreal body combining between animal and plant. Fourth, surrealism was showed creation of object which is impossible to present. Fifth, magnification and reduction of size was showed bizarre magnification of part of body, size of clothing. Sixth, optical illusion was showed ambiguity of object because of creation of new form. Seventh, juxtaposition was showed the parallel of contradicting idea and change of meaning between heterogeneous objects. Eighth, the distortion of form was showed grotesque distortion of part of body and disgusting object.

Microwave Signal Spectrum Broadening System Based on Time Compression

  • We propose and experimentally demonstrate an all-optical radio frequency (RF) spectrum broadening system based on time compression. By utilizing the procedure of dispersion compensation values, the frequency domain is broadened by compressing the linear chirp optical pulse which has been multiplexed by the radio frequency. A detailed mathematical description elucidates that the time compression is a very preferred scheme for spectrum broadening. We also report experimental results to prove this method, magnification factor at 2.7, 8 and 11 have been tested with different dispersion values of fiber, the experimental results agree well with the theoretical results. The proposed system is flexible and the magnification factor is determined by the dispersion values, the proposed scheme is a linear system. In addition, the influence of key parameters, for instance optical bandwidth and the sideband suppression ratio (SSR), are discussed. Magnification factor 11 of the proposed system is demonstrated.
