자기유변탄성체를 이용한 스퀼 소음 저감 타당성 연구 (Feasibility Study of Squeal Noise Reduction using Magneto-rheological Elastomer)

  • This study investigates the possibility of reducing squeal noise generated at the contact point between an elastomer and glass by using the properties of a magneto-rheological elastomer (MRE) whose stiffness changes with the application of a magnetic field. Previously, squeal noise was mainly observed in the unstable section caused by the weakening of friction due to velocity. Previous studies have shown that squeal noise decreases as the stiffness increases. Accordingly, this study is conducted to control the unstable area of the friction curve and to reduce the noise by inducing the stiffness change of the MRE by applying a magnetic field. The friction, vibration, and noise characteristics are measured using a reciprocating friction tester. The frequency ranges of vibration and noise measured with the accelerometer and sound sensor show similar results. When a magnetic field is applied to the MRE, there is significantly lower noise compared with the case without the application of the magnetic field. The average coefficient of friction decreases with the application of the magnetic field. The maximum coefficient of friction increases rapidly at the turning point and decreases when the magnetic field is applied. This shows that the mechanical properties of the MRE change due to the magnetic field, and the noise and friction coefficient also decrease.

  • In this report, Experimental analysis for main factors and analyzing methods of electro-magnetic noise and no loading noise was conducted because of noise of AC generator, which is peripheral equipment by reduction of engine noise that would be the main cause of vehicle radiation noise. In addition, This is intended to suggest the noise reduction development basis of AC generator for actual fan and electro-magnetic noise by making-analyzing-testing it's sample.

Analysis and reduction of thermal magnetic noise in liquid-He dewar for sensitive low-field nuclear magnetic resonance measurements

  • For sensitive measurements of micro-Tesla nuclear magnetic resonance (${\mu}T$-NMR) signal, a low-noise superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) system is needed. We have fabricated a liquid He dewar for an SQUID having a large diameter for the pickup coil. The initial test of the SQUID system showed much higher low-frequency magnetic noise caused by the thermal magnetic noise of the aluminum plates used for the vapor-cooled thermal shield material. The frequency dependence of the noise spectrum showed that the noise increases with the decrease of frequency. This behavior could be explained from a two-layer model; one generating the thermal noise and the other one shielding the thermal noise by eddy-current shielding. And the eddy-current shielding effect is strongly dependent on the frequency through the skin-depth. To minimize the loop size for the fluctuating thermal noise current, we changed the thermal shield material into insulated thin Cu mesh. The magnetic noise of the SQUID system became flat down to 0.1 Hz with a white noise of 0.3 $fT/{\surd}Hz$, including the other noise contributions such as SQUID electronics and magnetically shielded room, etc, which is acceptable for low-noise ${\mu}T$-NMR experiments.

  • When a squirrel cage induction motor is loaded, the magnetic noise can increase depending on the load current. It is due to the variation of air gap harmonic fluxes from the rotor current induced by loading. This unfavorable noise can be anticipated by analysing the radial force waves in the air gap, the mode shapes of them, and stator core natural frequencies at each mode. With the experimental tests with the different rotor slot numbers, the variation of magnetic noise depending on the load current is studied and the method to reduce the magnetic noise is suggested with the newly developed magnetic noise analysis program.

Near-field Noise-emission Modeling for Monitoring Multimedia Operations in Mobile Devices

  • In this paper, an equivalent circuit model for near-field noise emission is proposed to implement a multimedia operation-monitoring system for mobile devices. The proposed model includes a magnetic field probe that captures noise emissions from multimedia components, and a transfer function for near-field noise coupling from a transmission line source to a magnetic field probe. The proposed model was empirically verified with transfer function measurements of near-field noise emissions from 10 kHz to 500 MHz. With the proposed model, a magnetic field probe was optimally designed for noise measurement on a camera module and an audio codec in a mobile device. It was demonstrated that the probe successfully captured the near-field noise emissions, depending on the operating conditions of the multimedia components, with enhanced sensitivity from a conventional reference probe.

  • This paper treats with some of plasma jet behaviors under magnetic field for the purpose of controlling important characteristics of plasma jet in the practices of material manufacturings. Under the existence and non-existence of magnetic field, the pressure distribution, flame length, stability and noise of plasma jet are comparatively evaluated in respect of such parameters as are current, gap of electrode, quantity of argon flow, magnetic flux density, diameter and length of nozzle. The results are as follows: 1) the pressure, the length and the noise of plasma jet rise gradually with the increase of are current, and have high values under identical arc current as the diameter of nozzle increases, but reverse phenomenon tends to appear in the noise. 2) The pressure, the flame length and the noise increase with the increased quantity of argon flow, and the rising slope of noise is particularly steep. Under magnetic field, the quantity of argon flow in respect of flame length has the critical value of 80(cfh). 3) The pressure and length of flame decrease with small gradient value as the length of gap increases, but the noise tends to grow according to the increase of nozzle diameter. 4) The pressure and the length of jet flame decrease inversly with the increase of magnetic flux density, which have one critical value in the 100 amps of arc current and two values in 50 amps. The pressure of jet flame can be below atomospher pressure in strong magnetic field. 5) "The constriction length of nozzle has respectively the critical value of 6(mm) for pressure and 23(mm) for the length of flame. 6) Fluctuations in the wave form of voltage become greater with the increase of argon flow and magnetic flux density, but tends to decrease as arc current increases, having the frequency range of 3-8KHz. The wave form of noise changes almost in parallel with that of voltage and its changing value increases with argon flow, arc current and magnetic flux density, having the freuqency range of 6-8KHz. The fluctuation of jet presurre is reduced with the increase of argon flow and magnetic flux density and grows with arc current.rent.

  • 위성에서 나오는 자기잡음(magnetic noise)을 줄이는 것은 위성탐사에서 자력계의 성능을 향상시키는 중요한 방법 중의 하나이다. 자기잡음(magnetic noise)를 줄이는 방법 중의 하나가 위성에서 붐(boom)을 길게 뽑아내는 것이나, 이것은 높은 비용과 위성 운용 난이도 측면에서 선호하지 않는 방법이다. 그래서 많은 경우, 자기장 데이터 산출 후에 측정 데이터 세트에서 위성 플랫폼의 자기 간섭을 제거하는 것이 널리 사용된다. 본 연구에서는 붐 없이 태양전지판에 2개 그리고 본체 1개씩 각각 설치된 자력계(magnetometer)에서 관측한 자기잡음(magnetic noise)을 제거하는 알고리즘을 소개하고자 한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 영구자석 자기공명영상시스템에 나쁜 영향을 기치는 외부 자기 잡음을 효율적으로 차폐하는 기술을 서술하였다. 유한요소법 전자계 해석을 통하여 영구자석의 주자계 방향과 일치하는 자기 잡음 성분이 자기공명영상에 주로 영향을 미치는 것을 밝혔고, 이의 해석 결과를 기반으로 자기잡음센서, 보상코일, 그리고 코일구동기로 구성되는 능동형 자기 잡음 차폐시스템을 개발하였다. 개발된 자기 잡음 차폐시스템은 수 Hz 미만의 저주파 대역의 자기 잡음에 대하여 30dB 이상의 차폐율을 보였으며, 0.3Tesla 전신형 자기 공명영상시스템에 자기 잡음 차폐시스템을 적용하여 자기 잡음에 의한 영상 잡음이 크게 개선됨을 실험적으로 밝혔다.

  • 본 연구에서는 적극적인 소음 방지 대책으로 승용차용 교류발전기의 소음을 저감시키기 위한 첫단계로 각 부품 별 주요 소음 발생 기여도를 회전속도에 따른 주파수 분석을 통해 측정하였다. 교류발전기의 소음은 크게 자기 소음, 기계소음, 통풍 소음으로 구분할 수 있다. 이들 소음은 전자기 부품의 설계와 교류발전기의 구조 설계, 각 부품의 가공 정밀도, 그리고 전체 구조물의 결합 상태와 밀접한 관련을 갖고 있다.
