PET-MR 시스템에 적용을 위한 실리콘 광증배센서의 온도 변화에 따른 성능 열화 분석 (An Analysis on Performance Degradation of Silicon Photomultipliers over Temperatures Variation for PET-MR Application)

  • A PET-MR system is particularly useful in diagnosing brain diseases. We have developed a prototype positron emission tomography (PET) system which can be inserted into the bore of a whole-body magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system that enables us to obtain PET and MRI images simultaneously with a reduced cost. Silicon photomultipliers (SiPM) are appropriated as a PET detector at PET/MR system because detectors have a high gain and are insensitive to magnetic fields. Despite of its improved performance compared to that of PMT-based detectors, there is a problem of the photo-peak channel shift which is due to the increase of the temperature inside the ring detector. This problem will occur decreasing sensitivity of the PET and image distortion. In this paper, I quantitative analyze parameters of the KAIST SiPM depending on temperature by experiments. And I designed cooling methods in consideration of the degradation of sensors for correction of the temperature in the PET gantry. According to this research, we expect that distortive images and degradation of the sensitivity will not be occurred with using the above idea to reduce heat even if the PET system operates for a long time.

자기 이상검출 시스템의 신호 대 잡음비 개선을 위한 자기환경 필터 이론 (A Theory of the Geological Magnetic Filter for the Improvement of the Signal to Noise Ratio of the Magnetic Detection System)

  • 본 논문에서 자기 이상 검출시스템의 신호 대 잡음비 개선을 위하여 자기환경 필터의 이론을 제안하였다. 자기환경 필터는 검출센서와 기준센서로부터 자기장을 측정하여 주파수 공간에서 상관관계를 측정하여 구성된다. 이를 이용하면 간섭성 잡음을 제거시켜 신호대 잡음비론 개선시킬 수 있다. 최근 DSP 하드웨어 기술을 이용하면 자기환경 필터의 하드웨어 구현이 용이하다. 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통하여 여러 자기 환경 조건에서 제안된 자기환경 필터의 성능을 보였다. 시뮬레이션 결과 자기환경 필터는 간섭성 잡음을 소거시킬 뿐만 아니라 센서의 오배치에 의한 오차를 제거하고 지역적으로 국한된 규칙적인 잡음도 제거할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

  • 본 논문은 자성센서 기반 지뢰탐지기를 개발하는 과정에서 필요한 신호처리 알고리즘을 제안한다. 탐지신호의 세기는 탐지 코일에 수신된 자기장의 변화량을 이용하여 얻는다. 표적이 없을 때 대비 표적이 있을 때의 상대적인 신호세기를 계산하기 때문에 표적이 없는 상태에서 calibration data를 만든다. 자기장은 장비 자체의 전기적인 잡음 또는 주변 환경의 영향을 받으므로 calibration을 지속적으로 수행하고 갱신하는 것이 중요하다. 마지막으로 표적에 의해 발생하는 신호크기의 변화량, 즉 단위 시간 당 그래프의 기울기 값이 일정 수준 이상 도달하는지 감시하여 정확한 탐지지점과 신호크기를 판별한다.

Development of Fault Detector for Series Arc Fault in Low Voltage DC Distribution System using Wavelet Singular Value Decomposition and State Diagram

  • It is well known that series arc faults in Low Voltage DC (LVDC) distribution system occur at unintended points of discontinuity within an electrical circuit. These faults can make circuit breakers not respond timely due to low fault current. It, therefore, is needed to detect the series fault for protecting circuits from electrical fires. This paper proposes a novel scheme to detect the series arc fault using Wavelet Singular Value Decomposition (WSVD) and state diagram. In this paper, the fault detector developed is designed by using three criterion factors based on the RMS value of Singular value of Approximation (SA), Sum of the absolute value of Detail (SD), and state diagram. LVDC distribution system including AC/DC and DC/DC converter is modeled to verify the proposed scheme using ElectroMagnetic Transient Program (EMTP) software. EMTP/MODELS is also utilized to implement the series arc model and WSVD. Simulation results according to various conditions clearly show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

  • 와전류를 이용한 비파괴검사장비가 자동차 변속기 부품의 결함유무를 판단하기 위해 개발되었다. 본 탐상기에서는 부품에서 발생하는 결함을 패턴별로 검사하기 위한 결함 마스터 샘플을 만들고, 결함의 형태별로 탐상 가능한 와전류 탐상기를 제작하여 시험을 하였다. 또한 실제 결함이 있는 불량품을 대상으로 결함발생 원인 및 결함발생 형태를 조사하며, 탐상시험을 통해 결과를 비교 분석하였다. 본 연구에서 개발된 와전류 탐상기는 비전문가도 모니터에 나타난 탐상기 결과로부터 부품의 결함여부를 쉽게 판단할 수 있도록 시스템 소프트웨어를 개발하였다.

  • Incorrect information on public sites can cause serious problem. One of relevant countermeasures against this problem is to detect of buried underground utilities in real time. Although there have been several method to detect of buried underground utilities, such as investigating of gravity and elastic wave and electric field, they have not been so efficient tools. Because it is too expensive and difficult to use. In this paper, magnetic sensors which could provide an easier and more efficient method are used to detect of buried underground utilities. Also fluxgate method of self detection are used. Input signal is used $1\~10kHz$ frequency. Filtering and signal processing of output signal are used labview software. After experiment, detection system of buried underground utilities which used magnetic shows possibility of precise detecting of laying object based on theorectical analysis for electromagnetic field.

편향전자석의 자장변화에 따른 광자선 선질평가에 관한 고찰 (Study of photon beam quality tool at magnetic field change in bending magnet)

  • Beam quality is changed about magnetic field of bending magnet. Evaluation of beam quality using PDD(Percentage Depth Dose) at 10cm depth at recommendation of AAPM(America Academy of Pain Medicine). However this evaluation shows fragmentary element. Therefore this study is applied to three value, 10cm divided by 5cm depth PDD, 20cm divided by 10cm depth PDD, 30cm divided by 20cm depth PDD, at change the magnetic field. PDD is measured at magnetic field changed ${\pm}1%$, ${\pm}2%$ at 6MV(Mega Voltage), 10MV photon. The plan technique is 3 portal plan using Core-Plan at human pelvic phantom. Conventional and presented methods are compared at maximum and minimum dose. The presented method increased discernment of relieve the unequal distribution and energy area than conventional method. Henceforth, application of presented method will be considered. Development of energy measurement method and detector miniaturization will be needed about continuous study.

컨베이어벨트의 비접촉식 스틸코드파선 검사장치 개발 (Development of Non-contact Detector for Broken Cords of Steel-Cord Conveyor Belt)

  • In order to detect and monitor the broken cords of steel-cord belt from being damaged by impact of large lump of materials and the corrosion of steel cord, we developed a non-contact magnetic coil detection system. This measures the deterioration of reinforcing cables in steel cord conveyor belt which transport the ores in raw material plant. In this research, magnetic coil sensor of broken-cord detection system has exciting part and sensing part. The broken-cord detection system is operated by supplying a transmitter coil with electric power to generate magnetic field, and then the change of induced voltage is detected in each receiver coils due to resultant magnetic flux effected by the broken steel cords at the inside of the conveyor belt. By the informations such as the position and size of the broken steel cords obtained by SCBMS(Steel Cord Belt Monitoring System), it is expected that not only the span of belt life will be lengthened, but also this system can enable operators to plan scheduled maintenance and prevent the enlargement of damaged parts in steel cord belt at an early stage

컨베어 이송장치에서의 무선 미소자기감지 시스템 구현 (Implementation of Wireless Micro-Magnetic Detection System in the Conveyer Belt)

  • 기존 유선기반의 미소자기감지 시스템은 자기신호를 전기신호로 변환하여 신호처리부로 송신하는 과정에서 AC성 노이즈가 유입되고, 필터링 과정에서 과도한 신호의 시간 및 위상 지연 현상이 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 컨베어 이송장치에서의 무선통신 기술을 적용한 미소자기감지 시스템을 설계하고 구현한다. 무선미소자기시스템은 자기센서 검출부, 신호처리부, 무선센서네트워크부, 시스템 제어부 및 모니터링부로 구성하고, 무선 미소자기감지 시스템을 통해 밸브바디 내에 스틸볼이 삽입되어 있는 경우 자기센서 전압 값이 변화하는 것으로 감지하였다. 기존 유선기반의 시스템에 비해 검출 정확도 및 시간 지연 감소 등 성능이 향상됨을 평가를 통해 나타났으며, 패킷수신률 분석을 통해 미소자기시스템의 무선 적용 가능성을 확인하였다.

The solar photospheric and chromospheric magnetic field as observed in the near-infrared

  • Observing the solar atmosphere with ground-based telescopes in the near-infrared has a number of advantages when compared to classical measurements in visible wavelengths. One of them comes from the magnetic sensitivity of spectral lines, which varies as ${\lambda}_g$, where g is the effective $Land{\acute{e}}$ factor of the transition. This wavelength dependence makes the near-infrared range adequate to study subtle spatial or temporal variations of the magnetic field. Spectral lines, such as the photospheric Fe I $1.5648{\mu}m$ spectral line, with a $Land{\acute{e}}$ factor g=3, have often been used in the past for this type of studies. To study the chromosphere, the Ca II IR triplet and the He I $1.0830{\mu}m$ triplet are the most often observed lines. The latter has the additional advantage that the photospheric Si I $1.0827{\mu}m$ is close enough so that photosphere and chromosphere can be simultaneously recorded with a single detector in a spectrograph. The instrument TIP (Tenerife Infrared Polarimeter) has been continuously operating since 1999 at the 70-cm German VTT of the Observatorio del Teide and has been recently moved to the 1.5-m German GREGOR. During all this time, results have been obtained concerning the nature of the weak photospheric magnetic field of the quiet sun, magneto-acoustic wave propagation, evolution with the cycle of sunspot magnetic fields, photospheric and chromospheric magnetic field in emerging regions, magnetic field in chromospheric structures such as filaments, prominences, flares, and spicules, etc. In this talk, I will review the main results obtained after all these observations and mention the main challenges for the future. With its novel polarization-free design and a complete suite of instruments aimed at simultaneous (imaging and spectroscopic) observations of the solar photosphere and chromosphere, the EST (European Solar Telescope) will represent a major world-wide infrastructure to understand the physical nature of all these phenomena.
