Ti-10wt.%Al-xMn 분말합금의 Mn첨가에 따른 소결특성 평가 (Effect of Mn Addition on Sintering Properties of Ti-10wt.%Al-xMn Powder Alloy)

  • Titanium alloys have high specific strength, excellent corrosion and wear resistance, as well as high heat-resistant strength compared to conventional steel materials. As intermetallic compounds based on Ti, TiAl alloys are becoming increasingly popular in the aerospace field because these alloys have low density and high creep properties. In spite of those advantages, the low ductility at room temperature and difficult machining performance of TiAl and $Ti_3Al$ materials has limited their potential applications. Titanium powder can be used in such cases for weight and cost reduction. Herein, pre-forms of Ti-Al-xMn powder alloys are fabricated by compression forming. In this process, Ti powder is added to Al and Mn powders and compressed, and the resulting mixture is subjected to various sintering temperature and holding times. The density of the powder-sintered specimens is measured and evaluated by correlation with phase formation, Mn addition, Kirkendall void, etc. Strong Al-Mn reactions can restrain Kirkendall void formation in Ti-Al-xMn powder alloys and result in increased density of the powder alloys. The effect of Al-Mn reactions and microstructural changes as well as Mn addition on the high-temperature compression properties are also analyzed for the Ti-Al-xMn powder alloys.

뉴럴 네트워크를 이용한 밸브 부품 생산용 플런지 연삭의 거칠기 예측모델 개발 (Development of Roughness Estimation Model for Plunge Grinding of Valve Parts Using Neural Network)

  • 본 연삭공정은 제품의 품질 만족도를 충족시키기 위해 기계가공의 마지막단계에서 이루어지는 공정이다. 일반적으로 연삭된 공작물의 가공 표면은 연삭 조건 및 드레싱 조건에 의해 그 정도가 결정된다. 이러게 연삭된 공작물의 표면 거칠기를 예측하기 위해서 몇 가지 거칠기 모델들이 연구되었다. 기존의 모델들은 몇 가지 주요 파라미터를 선정하고 이들 파라미터를 곱의 형태로 모델을 만들어 그 파라미터의 영향도를 고려하였다. 그러나 이러한 파라미터간 곱의 형태는 복잡한 연삭 메커니즘을 나타내기에는 충분하지가 않다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 뉴럴네트워크 알고리즘을 이용하여 플런지 연삭의 연삭 모델을 제안하였다. 제안된 구조는 초기 거칠기 모델과 최종 거칠기 모델로 구성되어 있다. 제안된 뉴럴네트워크의 입력 파라미터는 기존의 거칠기 모델들의 것을 이용하였다. 제안된 모델의 거칠기 예측 성능은 실험을 통해 검증하였다.

힌지구조 진동절단장치에 관한 연구 (Study on Vibrated Cutting Blade with Hinge Mechanism)

  • 기능이 극대화된 초소형 전자기기를 제조하기 위해 사용되는 적층형 소자들 중, 적층 세라믹 콘덴서(MLCC: Multi Layer Ceramic Capacitor)는 휴대전화, 노트북 등에 전자회로의 평활, 안정화, 노이즈 제거, 커플링 등 다양한 용도로 사용되고 있다. 적층형 세라믹 콘덴서는 생산과정에서 압축소결된 미세 다층구조의 적층형 소자 바(bar)를 하나 하나의 칩으로 절단하여야 한다. 현재 적용되고 있는 cutting, dicing 등의 방법을 대신하여 수율의 향상을 도모하기 위해 진동절삭법을 적용하여 그 특성을 조사하였다. 유연 힌지구조를 이용한 진동 절단 구조를 설계하고 해석하여 적층형 세라믹 콘덴서의 절단에 알맞은 진동절단기구를 제안한다. 또한, 설계결과를 바탕으로 제작된 진동절단 기구의 절단가공 특성을 조사하여 기존 절단법과의 성능비교를 통해 힌지 구조를 이용한 진동 절단의 타당성을 검증하였다.

Al2O3와 TiO2의 반응소결로 제조한 Al2TiO5-기계가공성 세라믹스 (Al2TiO5-machinable Ceramics Made by Reactive Sintering of Al2O3 and TiO2)

  • Aluminium titanate($Al_2TiO_5$) has extremely anisotropic thermal expansion properties in single crystals, and polycrystalline material spontaneously microcracks in the cooling step after sintering process. These fine intergranular cracks limit the strength of the material, but provide an effective mechanism for absorbing strain energy during thermal shock and preventing catastrophic crack propagation. Furthermore, since machinable BN-ceramics used as an insulating substrate in current micro-electronic industry are very expensive, the development of new low-cost machinable substrate ceramics are consistently required. Therefore, cheap $Al_2TiO_5$-machinable ceramics was studied for the replacement of BN ceramics. $Al_2O_3-Al_2TiO_5$ ceramic composite was fabricated via in-situ reaction sintering. $Al_2O_3$ and $TiO_2$ powders were mixed with various mol-ratio and sintered at 1400 to $1600^{\circ}C$ for 1 h. Density, hardness and strength of sintered ceramics were systematically measured. Phase analysis and microstructures were observed by XRD and SEM, respectively. Machinability of each specimens was tested by micro-hole machining. The results of research showed that the $Al_2TiO_5$-composites could be used for low-cost machinable ceramics.

이중신호에 의한 공구파손 검출에 관한 연구 (A Study on Detection of Cutting Tool Fracture by Dual Signal Measurements)

  • 본 연구에서는 공구의 큰 파손에서 부터 공구의 기하학적 형태가 크게 변하지 않는 작은 파손등 파손의 크기와 파손부위에 따른 신호의 형태를 조사하고자 한다. 그 방법으로서 가공재료로서는 SM45C강(steel)과 열처리한 SM45C강을 이용하였다. 공구파손에 따른 AE신호와 절삭력신호의 변화를 분석하기 위하여, AE신호의 경우는 RMS값을 택하고 그 진폭의 갑작스런 변화와 평균 레벨의 변화를 이용하여 파손의 순간 을 감지하였고, 절삭력의 경우에는 절삭력의 주분력, 이송분력 그리고 배분력의 변화 형태를 이용하여 공구의 이상상태를 알 수 있었으며, 이 두 신호의 변화를 동시에 관 찰함으로써 임의의 가공조건에서 공구의 파손을 감지할 수 있는 알고리즘 개발의 기준 을 마련할 수 있었다.

Ti-Al-Si-N 박막 제작을 위한 합금 타겟 제조 및 박막의 기계적 특성 (Fabrication of Alloy Target for Formation of Ti-Al-Si-N Composite Thin Film and Their Mechanical Properties)

  • Prevailing dissemination of machine tools and cutting technology have caused drastic developments of high speed dry machining with work materials of high hardness, and demands on the high-hardness-materials with high efficiency have become increasingly important in terms of productivity, cost reduction, as well as environment-friendly issue. Addition of Si to TiAlN has been known to form nano-composite coating with higher hardness of over 30 GPa and oxidation temperature over $1,000^{\circ}C$. However, it is not easy to add Si to TiAlN by using conventional PVD technologies. Therefore, Ti-Al-Si-N have been prepared by hybrid process of PVD with multiple target sources or PVD combined with PECVD of Si source gas. In this study, a single composite target of Ti-Al-Si was prepared by powder metallurgy of MA (mechanical alloying) and SPS (spark plasma sintering). Properties of he resulting alloying targets were examined. They revealed a microstructure with micro-sized grain of about $1{\sim}5{\mu}m$, and all the elements were distributed homogeneously in the alloying target. Hardness of the Ti-Al-Si-N target was about 1,127 Hv. Thin films of Ti-Al-Si-N were prepared by unbalanced magnetron sputtering method by using the home-made Ti-Al-Si alloying target. Composition of the resulting thin film of Ti-Al-Si-N was almost the same with that of the target. The thin film of Ti-Al-Si-N showed a hardness of 35 GPa and friction coefficient of 0.66.

소형펀치시험법을 이용한 알루미늄 6061-T6 Type-3 용기 라이너의 파괴인성 평가 (Evaluation of Fracture Toughness Using Small Punch Test for Aluminum 6061-T6 Type-3 Cylinder Liner)

  • Type-3 용기 라이너는 두께가 5 mm일뿐 아니라 곡률을 가지고 있기 때문에 파괴인성시험을 위한 표준형 시편의 제작에 어려움이 있다. 따라서 용기 라이너의 파괴인성을 평가하기 위해서는 소형시편 시험기법이 도입되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 용기 라이너의 파괴인성을 평가하기 위해 소형펀치(small punch, SP)시험법을 도입하였다. SP시험으로부터 측정된 하중-변위 곡선 결과에서 라이너 재료는 연성이 소진하여 막신장 영역에서 파손되었다. 라이너 재료는 제작공정 특성에 기인하여 소성변형량이 방향에 따라 다름에도 불구하고 등방성 파괴양상을 보였다. SP시험 데이터를 사용하여 파괴인성을 평가한 결과 $J_{Ic}=13.0kJ/m^2$ 이었다. 이 값은 동종재료의 파괴인성 값과 유사하다. 따라서 SP시험 데이터를 사용하여 평가한 파괴인성은 타당하며, 완성된 용기 라이너는 유효한 파괴인성 값을 유지하는 것으로 확인 되었다.

솔레노이드 전압변화에 따른 사각뿔 구조체의 크기변화 경향 분석에 관한 연구 (A study on size variation of quadrangular pyramid structure according to input voltage of solenoid indentation system)

  • The light diffusion component spreads the light from one point evenly over a large area. Various types of light diffusion parts such as films and lenses are applied in the high-tech industries such as LCD display devices, lighting devices, and solar energy generation. Among these, a diffuser sheet (Diffuser Sheet) has a function to uniformly distribute the light, and various studies have been conducted to improve its function. The shape of the conventional light diffusion pattern is mainly made of a dot or hemispherical shape. In this study, a rectangular cone-shaped structure having a light diffusion function and an advantage of controlling the angle of refraction of light was fabricated by using a solenoid indentation process. The change in shape of the indentation structure was analyzed.

완충용액유속, 효소.기질 반응 및 전극봉 요인에 따른 발효공정 제어용 흐름주입식 효소센서의 전류값 특성 (Current Characteristics of a Flow Injection Type Enzyme-Sensor as the Variables of a Buffer Velocity, an Enzyme-Substrate Reaction and an Electrode for the Control of a Fermentation Process)

  • The electric current of a flow injection type enzyme-sensor was measured to confirm the stable operating conditions of the sensor. The current of the sensor was decreased as the buffer solution velocity increased. Under the limitation of the cycle time to be below 10 minutes, the effective ranges of the buffer solution velocity were suggested $0.10{\sim}0.26$, $0.12{\sim}0.24$, $0.1{\sim}0.25$ and $0.05{\sim}0.10\;cm/s$ of 1.0, 1.4, 2.4 and 3.4 mm of the electrode diameters, respectively. As the reaction time of the enzyme and the substrate was increased, the current was decreased because of the dilution between the sample and buffer solution. Therefore, it could be recommended that the reaction time was able to be selected as shortly as possible in consideration of the total cycle time. As the result of the experiments using a different volume ratio of the enzyme to substrate, it was concluded that the substrate had to be mixed with the same amount of the enzyme. The current have increased remarkably in proportion to the electrode diameter under 0.1 cm/s of the buffer solution velocity but there was no difference over 0.1 cm/s of the buffer solution velocity. The cross type arrangement of the electrode was highly suggested for application and machining of the sensor.

가공정도 향상을 위한 평면 연삭기의 설계 개선 (Modifications of a Grinding Machine Structure for the Improved Precision Machining)

  • Among a few items with world wide competitiveness are the semiconductor and the LCD. Grinding/polishing is the most significant process in manufacturing semiconductor wafers and LCD panels, the most critical quality of which is the precision rate of the machined surfaces. It is well known that the control of the vibrations is the major factor in maintaining superb machined surfaces. In this paper the dynamic properties of a grinding machine have been investigated through the frequency analysis test and the computer simulation to deduce ideas of design modifications for improved stability. The alterations have been applied to the simulation model, which is supposed to have identical dynamic property with the original structure, to identify the effects and to finally achieve the satisfactory level of stability. The result shows that the machine can have much improved stability with relatively simple design changes, and also can improve the surface quality of the products.
