  • Colour tone, lustre, surface roughness of fabrics are very important factors in pursue of the beauty of external appearance, namely aesthetic appearance, and the dynamic functionality of fabric used to clothe the human body. Drape is one of many factors that influence the aesthetic appearance of fabric and has an outstanding effect on the formal beauty of fabric. For this reason, the measurement and understanding of drape is required to specify the performance of fabric used in clothing. (omitted)

  • This study surveyed the physical properties of the domestic and foreign worsted fabrics which are used for men's garments. For this purpose, forty specimens which were divided into 1st fourteen specimens and 2nd twenty six ones were prepared and the physical property assessment by Blind field test was carried out by test committee. The subjective test items by Blind field test were chosen as handle(softness, flexibility), color(brightness, deepness), appearance(cleanness, natural lustre) and comparison priority.

  • There are two standards for evaluation of fabric aesthetics, the feeling of fabric and the fabric sense of sight. Its drapalility with lustre is one of factors to decide the fabric sense of sight. This study was carried out to investigate the drape property property of fabrics. The fabric characteristics and the physisical properties of fabrics were tested. And the effect of the laundering on the drape properties was examined. RESULTS : 1. The drape coefficients of sampled fabrics were increasd as the thickness of fabrics were increased, excluding the fabric consisting of 60% polyester$\times$40% wool. 2. The drape coefficient of sampled fabrics were decreased as the cover faders of fabrics were increased, excluding the summer clothes and the fabrics of 100% wool. 3. The drape coefficients of fabrics other than sumer clothes were increased as the weight of fabrics were in creased. 4. Positive correlation was observed between the stiffness and the drape coefficient. 5. Negative correlation was observed between the fabric shrinkage and the drape coefficient. 6. The drape coefficient was decreased to a certain limit by laundering. But as the laundering was repeated up to certain number, the drape coefficient and the node number, a significant correlation was observed between the drape coefficient and the node shape.

  • To research were procedure condition of cellulase and remove effect of endocarp of mandarine orange from the result obtained it could be summarize as follow. 1. Optimal conditions affecting the production of cellulolytic enzyme of Aspergillus saitoi are followings: optimal temperature $30^{\circ}C$ and optimal culture period 3days. 2. When mandarine orange was soaked in 10 fold diluent of enzyme(diluent of enzyme: mandarine orange=2 : 1) and reacted under $40^{\circ}C$ for 3.5-4hrs, it was most effective and available to the remove of endocarp, flavour, and lustre important to the canning process of mandarine orange syrup.

  • Degumming with enzyme Degummase can be a viable alternative to the existing methods of degumming. Degumming, carried out with the conventional method of Marseille's soap 25%(owf) for 1.5h at boil gives a weight loss of about 24%. On Comparison, degumming with 10 enzyme at 5$0^{\circ}C$ for 60 min gives a weight loss of about 22%. Treatment with enzyme requires a much lower temperature and also the treatment time is shorter than the conventional process. Processing of silk at these conditions is likely to retain the lustre and softness of silk. To economise on the quantity of enzyme, conditions were optimised for a pad-store process. An enzyme concentration of 0.5% at 5$0^{\circ}C$ for a time period of 5~6h resulted in a weight loss of 22%. Though the concentration of the enzyme used was 20 times less than that used for long liquor method there was some strength loss. At 5$0^{\circ}C$ treatments carried out for 7~8 h resulted in some degradation. Strength loss occurs because enzyme in the absence of any stirring keeps acting at the place where it is deposited. Effect of temperature was more pronounced than time in degrading silk.

  • We present applications of clustering methods to detect variability in massive astronomical time series data. Focusing on variability of bright stars, we use clustering methods to separate possible variable sources from other time series data, which include intrinsically non-variable sources and data with common systematic patterns. We already finished the analysis of the Northern Sky Variability Survey data, which include about 16 million light curves, and present candidate variable sources with their association to other data at different wavelengths. We also apply our clustering method to the light curves of bright objects in the SuperWASP Data Release 1. For the analysis of the SuperWASP data, we exploit a elastically configurable Cloud computing environments that the KISTI Supercomputing Center is deploying. Two quite different configurations are incorporated in our Cloud computing test bed. One system uses the Hadoop distributed processing with its distributed file system, using distributed processing with data locality condition. Another one adopts the Condor and the Lustre network file system. We present test results, considering performance of processing a large number of light curves, and finding clusters of variable and non-variable objects.

  • In this study, the thermal insulation effectiveness of the greenhouse insulators by the installation methods was investigated to find the right installation way of the insulation materials. Physical properties of the insulators such as thickness, air transmissivity, apparent density, ultraviolet rays cutoff ratio, reflectance, thermal conductivity, moisture absorptivity were evaluated and the insulation ability of the insulators were measured by the module experiments. For the same insulator, the insulation ability of the case with the outward direction of the black colored face, i.e., with the inward direction of the white colored face, was better than that of vice versa. The case of the black colored both surfaces was better than the case of the white colored both surfaces. For aluminium reflection material, the case with the outward direction of the lustre face, i.e., with the inward direction of the non-lustre face, was better than that of vice versa. For the same material with the inner thin polyethylene foam (or polyester) and the chemical wool, the case with the outward direction of the inner thin polyethylene foam (or polyester), i.e., with the inward chemical wool, was better than that of vice versa. Addition of the inner thin polyethylene foam increased the insulation effect very much.
