  • The block housing type is coming to fore as a 'low-rise high-density housing type', which can resolve the all sorts of problem caused in Korea apartment housing complex and single-detached residental area in terms of livability, urbanity, and community. To analyze the characteristics of the block housing, the block housing in Eunpyeong New Town, in Korea was analyzed as a sample for post occupancy evaluation. The analysis show that the block housing is useful low-rise and high-density housing type, which ensures the livability as well as the urbanity and community. In details the analysis also shows the user satisfaction from the perspective of living and facility use within the block housing and individual unit.

  • Concrete has a many problems to apply high rise building of its low strength to weight and low ductility, compared to steel products. Therefore, it is necessary to make high strength concrete for applying to night rise building. In the experiment, the high strength concrete was made in variable of unit weight of binder, water to binder ratio(W/B), and sand to aggregate ratio(S/a) using batcher plant. As a result, it was possible to make high strength concrete using only materials for ordinary concrete without admixtures such like silica fume in batcher plant.

  • This paper deals with the electric and thermal characteristics of the composite busbar composed of aluminum and copper. When AC current is flowing in Cu busbar used widely in conservative equipments like power cable, transformer, and switchgear & controlgear most current is concentrated on the surface of the busbar by the skin effect. Therefore, if the Cu region in the busbar having low current density is replaced with aluminum, we can largely reduce the product cost and weight of the busbar. To conform the performance of the composite busbar, we designed and fabricated a test Al/Cu composite busbar. Maximun temperature rise of the busbar was $35^{\circ}C$ when 1600 Arms of AC current was applied to the test composite busbar($120mm{\times}10mm$). Based on test results, we can expect to make the low-priced and light power equipments using the Al/Cu composite busbar.

  • High-Smokestacks have been the symbol of the thermal power plant. Those cause the thermal power plant to be damaged by lightening for reaching several hundreds meter. In this paper, we investigated the accident of low-voltage source circuit due to grounding potential rise by lightening via high-smokestack in practically driving power plant, described examination into the cause and the impulse analysis. We analysed the transient voltage by EMTP(ElectroMagnetic Transient Program) via modeling the grounding system of power plant. This theoretical results coincided with practical accidental state. Therefore, it was verified that we could apply the grounding system of power plant and substation with the distribution-circuit analysis(EMTP).

  • The purpose of this study is to discuss how strength and ductility of each system in low-rise R/C buildings combined with extremely brittle, shear and flexural failure systems have influence on seismic capacities of the overall system, which is based on seismic response analysis of SDOF structural systems. To simulate the triple lateral-load resisting system, structures are idealized as a parallel combination of two modified origin-oriented hysteretic models and degrading trilinear hysteretic model that fail primarily in extremely brittle, shear and flexure, respectively. Stiffness properties of three models are varied in terms of story shear coefficients, and structures are subjected to two ground motion components. By analyzing these systems, interaction curves of required strengths of the triple systems for various levels of ductility factors are finally derived for practical purposes.

  • The objective of this study is to evaluate the seismic weakness of existing nonseismic low-rise piloti-type apartment buildings which have the irregularities of weak story, soft story, and torsion simultaneously. A prototype 4-story RC building was selected, analyzed using linear dynamic procedure and finally evaluated according to the acceptance criteria of FEM356. This building satisfies the criteria.

  • This paper deals with vibration of plates with concentrated mass on elastic foundation. The object of investigating natural frequencies of tapered thick plate on pasternak foundation by means of finite element method and providing kinetic design data for mat of building structures. Free vibration analysis that tapered thick plate in this paper. Finite element analysis of rectangular plate is done by use of rectangular finite element with 8-nodes. In order to analysis plate which is supported on pasternak foundation. The Winkler parameter is varied with 10, $10^2$, $10^3$ and the shear foundation parameter is 5, 10. This paper is analyzed varying thickness by taper ratio. The taper ratio is applied as 0.0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1.0. And the Concentrated Mass is applied as P1, Pc, P2 respectively.

  • This paper presents the results of the measured pressure-rise and the analyzed results of the cold gas flow-field in a 72.5kV 20kA gas circuit breaker for the electrical railway system. The analysis of cold gas flow field and the calculation of electric field strength have been performed in 3 types of interrupters and the low current interruption capability has been estimated for each of the gas circuit breaker considering the opening speed, the nozzle shape and the stroke length.

  • This study investigates mechanical properties of the concrete using coarse particle cement which is manufactured by the classifying process. The variable factors are 3 types of W/C such as 40, 50, and 60% and 5types of the replacement of the coarse particle cement such as 0, 25, 50, 75, and 100%. As the results, amount of SP agent to secure the target fluidity is gradually declined in accordance with increasing CC replacement. There is no special tendency for target air content, but setting time is delayed according to increasing CC content. The peak of the simple adiabatic temperature rise is gradually decreased in accordance with increasing CC content, and approach time to peak is slightly delayed. The compressive strength is comparatively delayed.

  • Modular housing has many advantages such as economy, flexibility and reusability. The domestic modular housing of a continuous stacking method has been built in military facilities, and dormitories. However, there is a limit to present diversity of low-rise multi-family housing. A cross stacking method is a way to pursue diversity of that but there is a difficulty to apply it owe to lack of cases and related technologies. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to suggest application techniques in design phase of applying the crossing stacking method in advance.
